  1. if you live way beyond your means for a few years then after a year of breaking even, do you then start building debt again ? We're not breaking even though. The wage bill has stayed the same and we've spent less than we've sold. how does that mean we aren't breaking even ? Breaking even, to me, means spending what you bring in. The wage bill hasn't changed much. The Carroll money should be there to spend but we've barely touched it. Nolan=Cabaye. Ba= £2m max. Marveaux = £2m max. Carroll's wage + Campbell's wage = Ba's wage + Marveaux's wage. Unsure about Tiote's new contract tbh. Where has the spare £31m (from the Carroll fee) gone? Where has the season ticket money gone? That's before you consider the 'investment' from the club for this season. It f***ing stinks man. the wage bill will have increased and say for the signing made so far, signing on fees, agents etc,set aside for wages, say for example 12 mill (3x1mill sign on fee,3x1mill agents,3x2mill this seasons wages)from liverpools 30mill up front, leaves 18mill for 2 further signings plus fees,1 years wages etc. The players we let go didn't play for nothing. Nolan = Cabaye (fee and wages). Carroll's + Campbell's joint wage we were paying= Marveaux's + Ba's joint wage we're now paying. Roughly, give or take £10k a week. £5m joint agents fees for the free transfers means there's still a lot of money left over from January. That's all before you consider the money set aside for team strengthening in this summer. The numbers don't add up unless you think Carroll and Campbell played for us for nothing.

  4. The way the club spun the Carroll fee was embarrassing. Not much different to a non-league club drawing Man U away in the third round of the FA Cup - "Aye, the cash this has brought into the club will keep us going for a couple of years." etc. We're Newcastle United for fucks sake. Why can't we spend the money we bring in? We're not fucking Maidstone.
  5. Why can't the club spend the money it generates? 3rd biggest capacity in the league, above average wage bill, zero investment in the squad. How much longer do we have to put up with this before we actually spend more on transfers than we take in? The ship has been steadied. Let's fucking push on eh? Invest a little bit and see what happens? Not under this fucking prick we won't.
  6. ...and being given the #9 shirt for next season.
  7. Sure he's talking about first choice CB pairings.
  8. I've got no problem with people rating Bendtner. Nothing wrong with a difference in opinion and it's what makes things interesting. Personally, I think we'd be better off getting someone else in rather than a player who I've seen miss a ridiculous number of chances who also thinks he's a lot better than he actually is. If people want to disagree then fine, I know what I've seen and it'll take a lot of persuading for me to change my mind on this shit cunt.
  9. Unfortunately most of the time he has been stuck on the wing and you're right, he's crap there although he has got 15 assists from playing mainly there in the last 2 seasons, playing as striker he WILL score you plenty of goals, if we played with 2 strikers I'd love to keep him but he's not happy playing second fiddle. Hid biggest fault is his arrogance. Makes you wonder why Wenger hasn't done it then. He does come across as a bit of a prick too which doesn't help when you miss chances after chance. I'd just rather look elsewhere.
  10. Genuinely don't think Bendtner is all that good tbh. Every time I've seen him he's been largely disappointing and if we're going to take a gamble on a striker then I'd rather it wasn't him.
  11. We were never ever going to get every single player we went for. I'm pleased with who we've picked up and the fees we've paid for them and I'm hoping we're still looking to improve the squad right up 'til August 31st. We've spent relatively little so far, balanced the books on wages (ish) and still should have a bit of wedge tucked away if the right players come along. Still only into July and a long way to go yet.
  12. Probably rehash from some English-based rumours (I haven't seen yet). Dunno. From the link: Manchester City - as reported by Sky Sport 24 - has closed the deal with Arsenal for the acquisition of the playmaker Samir Nasri. Gunners will go to 25 million euros, while the player will sign a contract Pharaonic six million net per season. A small, but very important word. If it's all legit like obviously.
  13. Change the blue to white.
  14. Last season, because of injuries and suspensions, I watched Ryan Taylor and Danny Simpson forced to play RW because of a lack of options. Got absolutely no doubt that Routledge is a far, far better bet than those two if it comes down to brass tacks. Get a replacement in and I'm fine with it. Getting rid before we've replaced him is just fucking stupid.
  15. Got no ill will towards Routledge at all, signed for little and rubber-stamped our promotion. Doesn't look to be a PL player though although his biggest attribute is pace which will always mean he is a threat at most levels of the game. Tried his best, had a few shit games along the way but he ensured we bounced back at the first attempt with room to spare.

    Sunderland...

If both sides go into the game with a fully fit squad (as they are now) to choose from then I'd fancy us. It's ridiculously early in the season though and one team could sign a potential match-winner 3 days before the game ffs.

    Sunderland...

Honestly thought that Bardsley had nailed down the RB spot and O'Shea had been brought in specifically to play LB.
  18. If he knows he's in demand he can even afford to giggle when he does it.

    Sunderland...

Bardsley needs to play on the right or not at all.He done well but is limited in what he can do due to him having to keep checking back onto his right foot,a new left back should have been a priority. Thought O'Shea was left-footed? All the Man Utd fans on Redcafe say not,a very good right full back according to them. Yep, my mistake.

    Sunderland...

Oh well, there you go. Thought I'd seen him fill in at LB a few times.

    Sunderland...

It'll surely be Gardner and Cattermole in the middle. Maybe Sessegnon on the right and Richardson on the left? Mignolet in goal and Gyan up top with Wickham? They'll set up as: Mignolet Bardsley Brown Bramble O'Shea Sessegnon Gardner Cattermole Richardson Gyan Wickham That about right, I'm guessing a bit? Hardly a frightening XI is it? Bench would be Westwood, Turner, Ferdinand, El Mohammedy, Korean lad, Malbranque & Larsson I must have missed someone.

    Sunderland...

So their back 4 is looking like: O'Shea* Brown* Bramble Bardsley with Turner and Ferdinand to bring in. *that's always assuming they get them signed obviously. Not exactly impenetrable is it? Running to stand still imo.
