Redknapp and Spurs fans to give it the we’ve got bigger fish to fry, we’re too good for it anyway, t’riffc t’riffic, played Inter and Madrid last year, year ends in 1, oh when the Spurs... rubbish no doubt if it stays the same. PAOK fans sound great like.

Not even sure Spurs want to be in this competition tbh. Going out could be a blessing for them.
-
Maybe they need tweaking. It would just need to make a distinction between the competitions where the cards were picked up relating to the suspensions that needed to be served.

It's not really a loophole, it's fixing what happens in a game to benefit your team. What about the game that the booked player will miss? Why should the opponent in that game get an advantage instead of the one he would have genuinely missed? I just think it's a bad idea to condone fixing events in a football match like this. That is the loophole. Players know the fixtures and can basically choose which one to sit out. Not got a problem with tinkering with the system to make it 'fairer' but until it's changed then it's going to be exploited, and rightly do imo. So, to use one of Ian's examples, would you advocate your team score an own goal if it would somehow benefit the side later on? Struggling to see the benefit of scoring an own goal tbh. The thread is about getting booked on purpose and I've got no problem with that. Are people unhappy about the rules themselves if the players taking advantage if them?

Not got the slightest problem with it and would be telling my players to do it to benefit the team. The loophole is there so it may as well be used.

Absolutely tragic news. So sad and really feel for his family. RIP

Looked worse than it actually was imo. Was a bit of a wild hack but Coloccini didn't seem too arsed about it and that's quite telling. Could have been a yellow on another day but it's no biggie.

Great goal Xavi. What a through ball.
-
More likely to be Van Bommel or Nesta.
-
We clearly softened up City at the weekend for Napoli tonight.
-
Tiote's a destroyer and he's fucking great at it. Wouldn't want him to change his game a single bit. We've got other players in the XI now who can capitalise on him winning the ball in the centre circle and giving it early. Some people baffle me.

His agent isn't Willie McKay is it, by any chance?

Fuck him and his poxy mangoes.

What a fucking finish Soldado.

Bruce's BBC interview after Fulham game: "We just needed that little bit of luck to come our way this afternoon but unfortunately it didn't. But we'll keep plugging away and i'm sure we will." Shouldn't need to have to rely on a bit of luck to beat Fulham at home. Trying to spin it but most of the mackems, rightly, aren't buying it. It's not a lack of luck, it's a lack of quality and it's slowly dawning on them that they might just be pulled into a relegation scrap if they don't pull something out of the bag pretty fucking quickly.

Emre got charged and not banned didn't he? They charged him (Emre) immediately and then heard the evidence though, didn't they? This time they've taken a few weeks to assess things and do their own little investigation THEN charged him. Could be wrong like. The Emre incident was reported after the game in which it allegedly took place (Everton away). The FA announced a day afterwards that they were launching an investigation. Then a couple of weeks later, Emre was officially charged. Thought it was knee-jerk at the time. My mistake.

Can't think that the FA would even consider charging him if they weren't 100% about what the odious cunt said. They know what the charge means - they're branding him a racist, and they wouldn't do something like that lightly. Can see a lengthy ban for the little prick.

Haven't bumped into anyone who actually likes the idea but some dislike it far more than others. Which is fair enough, it's their prerogative. Agree with most of Cronky's post too.

Thanks for clearing that up. Got a bit confused for a bit there.

I'll stick my neck out here and say I'm far more annoyed by the sheer unprofessionalism and cuntishness of Llambias as opposed to the actual content of what he said. He's got no business running a football club if that's how he's going to shoot his mouth off.

Think due to the relative sucess on the pitch people forgot there was a battle of wills still going on. You know the dismantling of the myths KK and Shearer..The tacky logos...The endless stream of horshit and lies...That silly grin.... It's funny how it all seemed to die down though. The good results created a feelgood factor around the ground, the season ticket deal was popular, the ground filled up, the good results continued, the training day was popular.......... then BAM - we're changing the name of the ground - fuck you all. BAM - we think Shearer, Keegan and Hughton are all cunts and Carroll's dogshit. Fuck you all. And we've got City away next weekend. You couldn't make it up man. Tarantino would be hard pushed to come up with this shit. Can he play CH?
-
Short answer no. I'll rephrase it: Would he be worse than Perch?
-
He is a tall lad so on that basis Santon > Perch. Infact if he was 4ft 8, Santon > Perch. That was my thinking. How shit does he need to be to be a worse option than James fucking Perch? I understand it's not his position but if he's a big(ish) lad and can play a bit but have enough defensive nous to hold a line like he needs to do at FB then he's got to be playing ahead of Perch or moving Simpson to CB and letting Santon play at RB?
