Gonna get dicked 4 nowt.

I believe the issue is that as far as I can judge, giving money to Ashley's business NUFC (whether we like it or not, the legal thing is his) is gonna pretty much guarantee our club being consistently mired in shit, it's reputation taken apart and us supporters just totally shamed if we sit down and take his snide abuse when we don't have to. I can see that the club would probably, at least in the short term, run up more debt which would look like harm, but to me it would seem to be happening for the greater good in what is a no lose situation. A bit like having to give someone a nasty cut with a knife in order to give them a heart bypass operation. That said, if anyone is intending on keeping going to matches because they think the club needs their money more than it needs them to stay away, I do respect that - it's dangerous to be throwing around terms like scab without knowing exactly what you're talking about... But I will do the best I can to convince these people that despite their best intentions they're making the wrong call - that they'd be trying to do the right thing the wrong way. And as I've said elsewhere, tell me I'm wrong if you want but I think it is possible to make these players know they've got the best support around and give them something to play for even while withholding your money. Display the colours, tell anyone in the world who'll listen, and best of all would be to turn up outside the ground on matchdays and stay there for 90 minutes just like normal creating a great atmosphere - would win admiration from outsiders (potential buyers) and show the players that the empty seats aren't because we'd prefer to spend the afternoon gardening. Gut reaction, but I just want to keep on watching my football team. I don't like Ashley or condone what he's done but I'll always follow the club and the XI who pull on the shirt every Saturday - even if I do whinge about them the following day. Part of the charm of it I suppose. The club will always come first for me and who knows, maybe a buyer will come along out of the blue and get shot of the wanker for us? If anyone wants to have a pop at those who choose to attend games then fair enough but not going may prove more detrimental for the club (as a separate entity)

Would be madness to sell him so it'll probably happen. Not Barton's biggest fan but to let him go would mean the chances of relegation (already quite high) would double overnight. We've not got too many Premier League quality players if I'm being honest but he's one of them and we need to keep them if we want to stay up. To sell him would be basically writing this season off.

I get the impression that a lot of people are asking themselves if they love the club more than they hate Ashley atm. Depriving Ashley of your cash is also depriving the club of your support at games and there's no getting away from that. By harming Ashley in one way you're also harming the club. There's no right or wrong answer to the situation and each person has to weigh up whether they want to continue to go to games or jack it in. Personally I still think I'm still going to go next year but I'd expect quite a proportion to not bother and I'm fine with that.

Sell high, buy low. Carroll and Enrique out of the door for big money and a couple of journeymen in to replace them. Nailed on. (See Jan '09 - Given & N'Zog out, Taylor and Nolan in).

Honestly think Pardew will walk before Easter. He's got no idea of the hostility he's going to be walking into. The fans fucking hate him and he's not even got the job (officially) yet. He's on a hiding to nothing and the pressure of losing regularly and the fans hating him from Day 1 will finish him. He'll walk, I'm certain of it.
-
The players and the club need support more than ever. Don't blame people for being annoyed at this shite and i'm one me them but i'll carry on and support my team. In for a penny... If some choose to walk away from the club then that've their decision but i'll carry on, thanks.

Complete spiv. If he's appointed then I honestly think he'll take us straight back down. Car-crash appointment if ever there was one.
-
Curious. Wondering about the timing of it all and who, if anyone, has been lined up and how long they've been waiting for the axe to fall. Feel sorry for Hughton and think he deserved more time but he's a big boy and he'll be ok. Not the first time Ashley has pulled a fast one and unfortunately it won't be the last and I'm sort of getting used to it now. It's certainly not a surprise but the timing is interesting.
-
Pardew obviously rates Williamson and Ranger though.
-
Been expecting this for a few weeks tbh. Not saying it's the right decision to bin him this early but Ashley's brain doesn't work the way most people's does. MUST get this next appointment right now though.

Looks dreadful atm. Slow, clumsy and cumbersome. He's lost all confidence and is a passenger during the games. He offers nothing going forward and provides no protection to the back 4. He's of no use to us in this division and I wish we played one of the kids who has the potential to improve rather than him.
-
The midfield 4 today were as poor as I can remember. Offered very little protection and gave no service whatsoever to Carroll. Even sacrificing Ameobi for another body in there wouldn't have made much difference. Gutierrez needs a rocket, Tiote needs someone to give it to once he wins it, Routledge was anonymous and Guthrie looks both shit and unfit. Awful stuff.

Honest. Negatively honest Nah, just honest. We need a reaction but we keep sitting back and letting the opposition settle and dictate things. We're constantly reacting to things rather than making them happen. This malaise is setting in for the winter.
-
True but we're only heading in one direction and it isn't fucking up.
-
Fucking abject today. As gutless and disorganised as we were the last season we were in this league... Today a 'blip' became a 'rut' imo. We're in the shit. Hide the points column on the league table and it looks fairly positive but we're only a handful of points out of the relegation zone which will change as we lose/draw our next 6 games. I know I'm being pessimistic but I can't see many positives atm, it's turgid.
-
We'll all watch as we give Liverpool loads of time and space to dick us 0-3. Torres (2) and Gerrard (pen)
-
Can't be blamed for the injuries or suspensions and we're dipping into the squad more and more to cover the better players we have out. I accept that and our better players are not available for one reason or another. But...... picking a clearly unfit/uninterested (delete as appropriate) Ameobi was a mistake. He's seen him in training and decided to pick him. Sending is team out to absorb pressure is insane. We're not good enough defensively to soak it up for long periods. No spark, no enthusiasm and a distinct lack of effort/bollocks. Why weren't we wound up for this? Why are we handing the initiative to WBA from the first whistle. We let them settle and they knocked it about and could have scored way before they actually did. No plan B. Yet again, when knocking it forward to Carroll doesn't work we've got nothing else. Change of formation? Push the full-backs on? Play through midfield? I know his hands are tied in some respects but by Christ he's not making things easy is he? At the end of the day he carries the can for results and performances (as does any manager). Today we were shit again. That's 2 points from 15 with a few tough games to come. We could well be in the bottom 4 or 5 by Xmas/New Year and he'll be under real pressure to keep his job.

Expected snow? Snow would have covered the entire pitch including the lines so the colour wouldn't matter, would it?
-
Why are the pitch markings blue in the Ipswich game?
-
has he looked worse than routledge? Aye, probably. That's just my opinion though obviously. He be significantly more expensive and not that much better if at all. It's a complete non-starter for me.
-
SWP's career is going backwards. Has looked dreadful the last 10 times I've seen him including his England performances. On a massive wage and City would also want a reasonably big fee for him. Don't want him anywhere near.

What's the offence ? Something violent.
