This has taken me completely by surprise. Fantastic news and it's encouraging that one of our best players has committed the best years of his career to us. Hopefully Enrique and Barton sign too and we can build to the core we've already got.

How has Gareth Barry lasted so long at city without being replaced?
-
Loads of random memories from previous games but the first one I can remember properly was the 4-1 win against Luton (April 1988) with Kenny sitting on the ball. It was the most spectacular thing I'd ever seen at the time.

People are just saying that Ferguson moved Ronaldo from the wing to a centre forward and maybe Ben Arfa could do something similar. They weren't comparing their abilities as far as I can see. And? Never mind.

Aye, I've already said I think he'll sign his extension. But if he gets the impression that things aren't quite right then he could well see his contract out and chase the money. It's not beyond the realms of possibility. i really can't see anyone topping what he's currently on for a 30yr old joey barton., hence why the stories of the pay cut came out. he may well leave for footballing reasons of for better pay than he's offered here but not more than he's currently on. i'm also lead to believe that he'd still get a signing on payment if he re-signs with us. Fingers crossed we never find out because he'll have signed on for another 2 or 3 years with us. He's a good player and we need to go the extra mile to keep him. I've just got very little faith with the people running the club atm. The know the price of everything and the value of nothing and their priorities are skewed to say the least. I hope he signs, I really do. if the extra mile is paying him more than he's worth or we can afford then no especially if theres anything to the rumours he wants a 5yr deal. Obviously there are limits. If we offer a decent contract and he turns it down then I hope we don't spit the dummy and flog him. He's worth negotiating with to tie him down.

Am I right in thinking that Man U have lost only twice this season? They're on track for the treble and they deserve to win nowt? Fucking ridiculous statement to make.

Not my fault your team's shit.

Did Inter really win the Champions League last year? They look dreadful.
-
Me too but if the offer comes in... Realistically it'll be his last 'big' contract before he drops down the leagues/retires so a bigger wage just might come into the equation for him? Can't see him being in demand at 33/34 so he needs to get his next contract right from every aspect.
-
he may get more from a new club then he would be on here, i can't see him getting motre than he is currently on even on a free as a 29yr old. There's always a club with more money than sense. West Ham spring to mind... Still think he'll sign the contract personally but he'll have plenty of options if he Bosman's.
-
Not sure about that. If he winds his contract down then he'll walk for nothing and with no transfer fee to pay the buying club may be willing to give him an extra £10 or 15k a week plus a whacking big signing on fee.

Fuck me, has Nani got roller-skates on tonight?
-
Although he'll be ok to play I can't see him being ready for a full 90 mins for a good while yet. I'd give him at least 4 or 5 appearances off the bench to build his match fitness and get his confidence back. It'll take a while but he mustn't be rushed back under any circumstances.

Perm any 3 of the bottom 4 for relegation now.

Me? Leazes end, near the glass. Middle tier I guess then. What row/seat I wanna get one next to you for next season. No you're fucking not.

I think I'm becoming obsessed with how St James' Park has developed over the years.

Player and manager both playing charades in public. I know I've been really negative recently but I actually expect the worst now. He's off this summer. I expect him to leave in the summer for about £10m. (I'll be delighted if he stays though because he could become the best LB in the league quite easily)

Just preparing the way out for him. Sign or sell.
