You might be right. He did say when he went back that he'd spoke to Hughton and he'd offered him a central playmaker role, didn't he? I've read that much fucking drivel in this thread I've forgotten who said what and when tbh.

I'd like to think that the main detals of his contract were sorted when he came over 2 weeks ago. I know we officially said we were refusing to talk to him without permission but I think we may have had the odd chat or 3 to sort something out. You never know though.

    Shola Ameobi

Shola's Shola. He's fucking useless but he can do a job and every now and again shows something. Got no idea what he's going to do when he retires though. Can you imagine what he'll be up to between the ages of 35 -70? The cunt will be as mad as a pan of crabs.
  5. Unless Spurs have got someone fantastical lined up, I can't belive they'd loan us Keane. Who'd pay his wages for a start? He's better (and different) to what we've got though obviously.

Good sides- They're exactly the same only Barton plays 10 yards further forward at home... Its more about Barton being more defence minded away from home You missed off the FM arrows.

I'd echo this too. Nice bloke.
  9. So far we've brought in: Perch, Gosling, Campbell, Tiote, Ben Arfa (loan, hopefully) If Taylor goes out of the door for about £3m then we'll have brought in all of that lot for a couple of million quid net. That's a superb transfer window considering that statement. There's even the option of getting another defender or striker in on loan which wouldn't cost too much.

Let's just get the bugger signed first, eh? 5 pm Friday deadine to play on the Saturday isn't it? Noon perhaps?
  11. Would this knowledge come from someone who has Ranger directly in front of him in the pecking order by any chance? 'Stop being obtuse'. It clearly rankled. Get in.

  13. This. Nice to see he's got a bit of bottle, he'll need it. Can't understand anyone expecting us to go on like choirboys. Bonkers.
  14. Shola doesn't seem to improve with games and that's why I thought it was pointless. Granted, and he never will tbh. Shola's Shola. He can score goals against shite though which was precisely the job that needed doing tonight. Him playing, and scoring, gave Carroll the night off etc. We're going to play him this season so we may as well try to keep him 'sharp'. Well, as 'sharp' as Shola gets...
  15. What makes you think ST will agree to go now just because the club have put him on the transfer list? Got a feeling that Ashley is the type of person who'll let him sit and not play for the whole of the season if he doesn't sign or leave. No evidence to back it up, just a hunch.
  16. I thought that Shola playing was pointless, other than that I agree. I'd give all of the kids games in both cups but possibly add a few more experienced players next to them to help bring them on. It's 90 mins under his belt and it also gets him off the mark though. Ditto for Lovenkrands I suppose.
  17. Hughton got this one spot on and the kids didn't let anyone down. The entire first XI are nicely rested for Saturday (as opposed to Wolves who played for 2 hours last night) and Hughton got to see 90 mins of some of the squad who he'll undoubtedly have to call on at some point this season. Accrington were competitive and had a pop but the lads dealt with them admirably. Hope Hughton gives some of them another run out regardless of who we draw in the next round.
  18. Lescott on loan for a year. Well he's got to go somewhere!!

The main bugbear for me is the fact it'll look shit and won't benefit us financially. If some other company was pumping £5m a year into the club to have the name plastered all over the shop I wouldn't really mind. It's the fact we'll have the advertising with none/little(?) of the cash coming in. All based on the assumption that Ashley won't be digging too deep to make this happen obviously.
