  1. I'm all for the current on-field reffing situation--the idea of the TV Umpire thing is ridiuclous, imo--but I have no problem with cards, fines, bans, etc. being handed out 'after the fact'. I really hope this isn't just a one-off. That's my worry - dozens of decisions being disputed 3 days after the game by a loads of blokes in a dark room in Switzerland. The ref's in charge of the game and he makes the decisions on the spot. He's going to get some wrong from time to time and fans need to understand that. Rough with the smooth and it'll all equal out in the end. Get on with it and play the game.
  2. Gut reaction is that they should let the referee make decisions like this. They'll get most right but they'll get a few wrong from time to time. I can understand why people want divers to be punished retrospectively but I like the idea of the ref being in charge and making an instant decision, even if it's the wrong one from time to time. Keeps it interesting.
  3. Can you imagine what would happen to this forum if we spent £5m on a striker before Tuesday??

    RIP sale thread.

http://i28.tinypic.com/i1dy75.png He's generally a good boy, but he sometimes shakes with rage if you don't give him his walkies. Careful, you'll raise distemper.
  5. Injuries are part and parcel of the game and other sides will pick up knocks too. It's just with our squad being so anorexic, we'll feel the loss of them a bit more than most. Xisco, Ranger and Carroll need to step up and the likes of Barton, Nolan and Guthrie will need to continue to chip in until they come back.

    The 12 months game

Slumping back into my seat once Bramble's header had gone in to equalise for Wigan. That was the exact moment I genuinely started to worry about going down.
  7. hows that ? we didn't have the money to provide what he wanted,he walked. why couldn't he cut his cloth like the every other manager has to ? how,-- gratuitous indulging in Keegan bashing, then he returns , we are good,= they are twats. come on you understand this. it doesn't matter who the person is i'll slag them off when they do something to be slagged off for and applaud accordingly when they deserve it. i'll not defend someone to the hilt without evidence especially if i know they have previous. I'm in this camp. Yep.
  8. Go back and read the so-called interview with Ashley from after Keegan was appointed. "Keegan is the man in charge, he has the final say, he names his targets we buy him" etc etc Now tell me if that was true? I was wondering when this debate was going to reappear on the forum. Fixed.

    Football Violence

All I'm saying is that the majority of bother associated with football happens outside of the actual ground itself. Pubs, train stations, service stations...etc. In the ground, you're pretty safe.

    Football Violence

Don't be daft, not a chance of it ever returning. People get slapped with bans for throwing f***ing bog roll, I doubt the police will all of a sudden just let things 'return' to how they were football violence was like an iceberg in that most of what made the headlines was inside the grounds but that was only a tiny fraction of what actually went on outside the grounds. Inside the ground was probably the safest place to be. Getting to and from was a different matter...
  11. What was the punishment the last time this kind of shit happened? Think they should pay dearly if this affects your WC bid. Fuck all. The FA are always loathe to punish the clubs involved in any bother with fans. They argue, rightly in my opinion, that the individuals involved should be rooted out and punished rather than the entire club. Unfortunately for West Ham and Millwall, they've both got a load of mongs who have attached themselves to the clubs who are determined to cause bother wherever the clubs play. When 2 clubs like these meet in a cup competition there's usually a load of hassle but tonight was significantly worse than usual. Maybe fines, perhaps closed grounds but nothing more will happen imo.
  12. Should have dressed the gormless wanker in a Chelsea shirt and hoyed him in the middle of it tbh.

    Football Violence

Violence at football was here long before VHS... For some reason the sport seems to attract angry blokes who enjoy a bit of bother and use football as an excuse to behave like cocks. It has done for quite some time too.
  14. They should have given them more, they gave them about 1000 odd which meant a hell of a lot travelled across without tickets and just caused trouble. If they'd given them more and just increased police prescence in the stadium they could have kept them apart better in and outside and they could have held the Milwall lot back for as long as it took to clear the walk to the tube station. Possibly? All I know is that if you're expecting a large number of arseholes to arrive at a certain football ground at a certain time then there's going to be bother. Not sure either of our ideas would have prevented the pricks from attending and kicking off regardless tbh. Inside, outside, with tickets or without...nobheads are going to behave like nobheads.
  15. Can't understand why Millwall were given any tickets. It was always going to kick off and I'm sure there will be hell on through the night.
  16. I thought the away fans were in level 7. But level 7 is closed for home fans. Or something to that effect. Ah, right.
  17. If they're closing Level 7, where are the away fans going to be? Corner of Leazes/Milburn?
  18. He's just hit the jackpot tbh. Any 5 year deal @ about £80k a week has to be signed at his age. We're not in a position to offer him anywhere near that. Can't blame him for signing for County and every single one of us would have done exactly the same.
  19. Burnley have started just like Hull did last year. Winning games they had no right to win but then hit the wall at Xmas.
  20. Liverpool already 6 points behind Chelsea. Bit early to say it's over for them but that's a hell of a gap to make up at this stage.
  21. I'll tell you what, the internet is fucking great.
