Too many to choose from tbh. One time I do remember was him on the touchline in Turin in 90, in that silver suit during the penalties. It was clearly the biggest match in his career and the way he carried himself throughout it all was just sheer class. It must have been like a dagger through the heart when Waddle's penalty screamed over the bar but he just walked straight over to Beckenbauer, shook his hand and congratulated him. The absolute classiest thing he could possibly have done and it showed me that sometimes things just don't work out in life and sometimes you lose - you can do your utmost to prepare for something but it doesn't mean it's going to go your way. When it does happens you've got to accept it and act with a bit of dignity. It's about doing things the right way despite any anger or frustration bubbling under the surface. You take a deep breath, swallow your pride and show a bit of humility. He was class personified and I'm so proud he managed and represented us.

The AC Milan technique. Buying up players so others can't have them. Delph might turn out to be shit....but he might be good. If they buy him and he's shit they sell him for buttons, if he's good they've got a good squad player. They've got money to burn so they can't lose.

Fucking hell, he'll be 40 by then.

A sad day for the sport. He was an absolute legend of the game who had the respect of every football fan in the country. RIP Sir Bobby.

It isn't a good thing. People are saying that he obviously wants away so much it's probably better if he goes. We're undoubtedly weaker for him leaving but if he's not 100% committed to the club then it's probably better he leaves. If a player wants away then he should be honest enough to say so and he has done so hats off to him. I'd rather he stayed but there you go. Not the end of the world all things considered. None of them are 100% committed to the club though and never will be. It's just not a realistic expectation in football today and it's definitely not a realistic expectation at NUFC today. They all want away, I don't need a transfer request to tell me that. The only difference is that Beye actually has a chance at getting away unlike the real wastes of oxygen at the club like Alan Smith and Damien Duff. If players don't want to be here then it's best they find themselves other clubs. Beye has obviously been beavering away and and if then other shit you mentioned wants away then they need to leave too. I'll support the club. Don't really care who pulls on the shirt, I'll back them. But if we only have players who want to be here, the club will not survive because it will be made up of NOFC. Given the 50-50 choice, I'd have good players ahead of loyal every day - especially faux loyal like Smith and Duff. But we don't have the choice. We can't pick who stays and who goes. And if Beye wants away then we need to support his replacement rather than complain about him going. The club will always come first - ahead of any player.

Not the end of the world all things considered. but the way he has givend about has left a bad taste. given (verb): to try all you can to engineer a move without actually risking any pay out from the club by not putting in an official transfer request. slag the management off all you want, most of these players are just as dishonest (and greedier) Of course it has, and I'm not naive enough to believe he's not been in touch with loads of clubs in the last few months, but the act of asking for a transfer is the difference between a decent pro and a cunt. At least he's had the bollocks to ask or a transfer rather than feign injury/take the piss/go on strike/go awol etc and engineer a move in public. He's a good player but if he honestly thinks he' better off at a club like Stoke or Hull then that's his decision.

He obviously wants to go, and to be fair I can't blame him. He's doing it the right way by handing in a transfer request, although I'd be astonished if he hasn't already got a club lined up on the snide... Good player and he'll be missed. I just hope we get top dollar for him because he'll need to be replaced.

I'd ideally like someone young, ambitious and hungry to turn us around. But given the choice of either Keegan or Shearer then I'd go for Shearer. Love Keggy for all he did for us as a player and manger (1st time round) but we need to move on. Some of us desperately need to stop living in the past and move on, the sooner the better.

City have the nicest set of shirts this year by the looks of things.
-
The bits I read said it was just as the players ran out. Ah right. Don't remember the noise as they ran out being particularly loud.
-
The Leeds fans provided much of the volume last night tbh. Find it very hard to believe they piped crowd noise through the tannoy, especially when there was a lull in play and the place was virtually silent...
-
Don't believe any of this.

:omg: Barton did quite well. The 'incident' was barely even worth mentioning, let alone making a big deal of. Stupid bitch.
-
If I thought for a second that the fee we'd get for him would be used to replace him then I'd sell him in a heartbeat. Very limited and inconsistent but I'd rather have him on the park than an extra £8m in the bank.

As Ashley would be the major creditor, administration would seem an odd move financially. But Ashley could probably take his losses at Newcastle, which would be close to £250m, and set them against profit at his other companies, such as Sports Direct. Ashley’s tax liability would then be reduced and his loss not so great. Oh. s***. Breathing a little easier after having a quick word with a mate. Do explain! Since Sports Direct is now a public company (he owns just over 50%) his only income from it comes in the form of dividends (which he shares with all share holders). That being the case, if he files his income taxes as a person rather than a company isn't his right to say "I made loads of money here and I lost even more over there. So I owe no taxes."? You're asking the wrong person tbh. I'll link him the thread and I'll get back to you with his replies. All I know is, he's a very intelligent bloke who's got a lot of experience in financial matters like this. If he's got it wrong then he's got it wrong but I trust what he says.

No idea! I'll ask him.

Apparently so. Wouldn't mind someone clarifying it though.

Thanks for the clarification. The point I’m making is that if I respond in kind the situation will escalate into a slanging match. I’m confident I’d be able hold my own in a slanging match, but the general public read this board and it makes us look like morons. Obviously if the Admins want NOL to make NUFC supporters look like a bunch of foul mouthed illiterate kids that’s there choice, but I do think the reputation of the support would be better served if they we’re less tolerant of the shit hurlers. If you want to report any instances of perceived abuse then simply report it and it'll get dealt with. Can we get back on topic now?

I’m not playing that game. If you want to trawl through old threads feel free. I’d just like you to clarify what the situation is with abuse. I’ll trade insults if that’s how it goes on here, but it’ll end trouble. Ah right, so you're moaning about abuse towards you and bias displayed by admin/mods but you don't want to back it up. No problem. The rules on abuse are here: http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,19164.0.html Cheers. So is a calling somebody a f***ing tool abuse? It's the kind of thing that would normally prompt a post from admin asking the poster to calm down or similar. Just like happened in this thread. On it's own it wouldn't be worthy of a ban, no. Sorry Dave but that’s a bit vague. Is it abuse or not? And have you asked Skirge to calm down? What about these responses I received earlier in the week? “that is the dumbest s*** i have ever heard. if you actually think that then you really are a class a moron, congratulations” “'kin grow up you moron, you need to get a grip” Did you report these posts?
