The way this latest thing has been spun is bang out of order. The reports imply that Barton has said something but Agbonlahor/Villa don't want to take it further, or that they can't prove it. Either way the implication is there that Barton as said something racist but it'll never be proven one way or the other - it's just hanging there over him for the foreseeable. I'd have much preferred it if they HAD actually charged him, looked at the footage and then cleared him. By not reporting it, the 'allegation' remains and won't be proven either way. Fucking shocking tbh.

Commentators said 'he made the most of it' and that Gerrard 'jumped into him more than anything' How is it that no-one in the media mentions it? When you JUST heard them! On the fence comments like "He made the most of it" are hardly the same as actually calling it like it is and saying he dived is it? Exactly. When have you ever heard any paper or tv pundit call Gerrard a cheat? Other players, usually foreign, get called 'divers' and are accused of bringing that aspect of the game to the Premiership but totally ignore the worst offender in the League - Gerrard.

Filthy club. Gerrard's a cracking players but he's also a fucking cheat. No other word is suitable. He cheats. The only thing worse than his cheating is the fact no-one in the media, the FA or UEFA challenge it.

Chelsea being given a ridiculous amount of time and space by Roma tonight. Knocking it about well and it looks like a pre-season friendly.

Barton did tonight what Gerrard does for Liverpool. He's nowhere near as good as Gerrard but was impressed that he was in the thick of it and driving us on in that second half. That's captain material imo.

Fucking excellent that. Totally unexpected win. Thought Barton took us by the scruff of the neck and drove us forward as the match went on. Well chuffed with that. Martins was Martins and Shola did well against a very good CH in Laursen. Duff worked hard and Gutierrez has definitely got that bit of class. Coloccini was immense once more and the Beye and Enrique both had solid games. Overall a fantastic 3 points, a clean sheet, Owen back, strikers scoring and linking up, Colo marshalling the defence etc. A lot of positives to take from tonight.

I'd take a point.

The League is far too tight to settle for 17th. Other teams will have shit runs like we've already had this season. Although things haven't panned out as we'd have liked we're far better than loads of teams and I'm pretty sure we'll pick up a few results and finish, maybe, 11th. One thing though - we've got loads of contracts to sort out soon and if they all walk out for nowt then we'll need about 15 quality players this summer. That concerns me more than finishing above 3 teams this year tbh.
