The Newcastle United Transfer Thread: D-Day [Spoiler: Not Much Happens]
midds replied to LooneyToonArmy's topic in Football
In that case it wouldn't matter who was boss because the manager at NUFC doesn't have any say whatsoever in who comes into or leaves the club. Apparently. -
What about 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and no points for a loss?

Duff says Joe Kinnear should be permanent Newcastle manager
midds replied to LoveItIfWeBeatU's topic in Football
Duff's only happy because he's hoodwinked the bloke into thinking he's actually a decent player. He's not. Duff can kiss my swingers. -
obviously there is nothing in your head worth shaking for somebody that has already been told " Silly thread, not worth your while clicking on" you still click read then complain" kiss my swingers Edit: I'm going to use that phrase tomorrow.

He will probably throw it back at you mind

He apologised after the game. He's not going to contest the charge tomorrow - showing signs of remorse/regret. There must have been an element of provocation to it too? I think 3 matches and a caution from the Met Pol is about right. If he does it again, I'd throw the book at him however.

What punishment do you think he should get?

Barton out for two months with medial ligament damage
midds replied to LoveItIfWeBeatU's topic in Football
Saw it the same way Mowen. Just a standard block tackle that Barton came off worse in. He'll be a miss like. -
We'll get butt-fucked unfortunately. 4 or 5 maybe.

He might not of practised a back 3 in training. I personally dont there can be too many complaints about the subs yesterday. he brought on 2 attacking players, we came from behind and both of the players had inputs and we let ourselves down due to silly defending. I wasn't being entirely serious tbh. I do think he could have changed things as soon as Boyce walked however. That decision changed the whole game and put us firmly on the front foot. Bringing Owen on straight away would have won it for us imo. They were rocking and he was too cautious in keeping it the same for as long as he did.
-
Probably been said previously but I couldn't understand sticking with a flat back 4 AND Guthrie/Butt in the middle of the park after Boyce had walked. Was crying out for a change of personnel or system. Fucking hell, even going 3 at the back and bringing on Owen for Enrique would have caused them to shit themselves. 3 at the back with Butt holding. Duff/Gutierrez pushing out wide. Owen roaming behind Oba and Shola with Guthrie picking up the scraps. HAS JK NEVER PLAYED FOOTBALL MANAGER LIKE??
-
The crowd reaction helped to get him sent off imo. It was actually a decent tackle but the whole corner went up and I honestly think that swayed it and influenced the ref. Well done lads.

I don't agree with and have never booed a Newcastle player but professional, premiership footballers who cannot pass to a team mate at a consistent level over some time do not need encouragement - they need replacing. That's fair enough. I'd agree with what you've written there. He's certainly not the finished article but neither was Vidic when he first came. Young lads from different countries/cultures need time to settle into the Premier League and they need a bit of patience. Not having a pop by the way, just saying he's worth persevering with for the time being.

Shearer had brilliant technique, passing, shooting, first touch were all flawless. He didn't show much flair, but that's another thing entirely. All depends how you define 'flair' but Shearer is the best footballer I've ever seen play for us.

I like Enrique and I think he's going to be a canny player but he's been poor for a while now. He shows the odd sign of being an excellent full-back and he's often solid but that's often forgotten when your own fans are looking for, and pay more attention to, the sub-standard performances. The lad need support and encouragement. I can't see any benefit to getting on his back and I'm baffled as to why it happens.
