Did you miss the close finishes in the Premiership and the 2 lost cup finals, 3 lost cup semi-finals, numerous quarter-finals and losing to the hicks a few times. Players come and go. He's gone. Thanks for 11 years and now you're a Citeh player and i hope you lose all your games (apart from when i suits us that you win). Come on! I don't understand this, the club has put Given through alot of s*** this year. No stability at all, no prospects more importantly no answers long term. The off field drama, protests, performances, ownership, manager and attitudes around the clubs - can hardly blame him. Poor little lamb, he hasn't been picking up 3 times more a week than we make in a year like has he. It must have been so hard for him! What does that have to do with staying here, that's valid for every player out there. It matters because he signed a fucking contract with the club in 2006 which increased his pay to do a fucking job. He then tells his agent to slag the club off, link him with other clubs and put him in the shop window without him having to forego his 'loyalty' bonus. He's a cunt.

Fancy having to put up with all of that whilst still taking about £50,000 a week from the club. I don't know how he managed, I really don't.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1104006/Given-needs-Toon-turmoil-driving-Shay-claims-lawyers-bombshell-statement.html?ITO=1490 How many other players ask their lawyers to say shite like that? If he doesn't want to be here then fuck him. This came out hours after the transfer window opened.

Bingo.

Did ok today. Made a few good saves and kept us in it. Long may it continue.
-
Aye, just after their goal. Tit.

Selling a player who didn't want to be here? Nah. Urgh, ok. A sad situation then, that better? I'm annoyed he's chosen to walk out on us. But if he doesn't want to be here then he can f***ing suck eggs. Hope we spend the cash WISEly. I'm sad that one of my personal heroes has decided he's had enough of this s*** club. That's what i was getting at. Then that's up to you my friend. Personally, I couldn't give a s*** about him (or anyone else who doesn't want to play for Newcastle United for that matter). He doesn't want to see it through, then f*** him. People not acknowledging what he has given to NUFC beggars belief. "F*** him" Maybe show him some f***ing respect. Had he acted with a bit of honesty and slapped in a transfer request in a month ago then I'd have been easier on him. He didn't. He decided to let his lawyer slag us off and link him with other clubs whilst still under contract. He can f*** off. Blimey, what a short term memory. Unbelievably loyal servant that has repeatedly urged whoever has been in charge to strengthen the defence in front of him - perhaps he finally realised that he wasn't being listened to. As to "He can fuck off", that's hardly impressive. I remember only too well how well he's played for us in the past. Which makes his actions over the last month even more vexing. That bloke has told his lawyer to slag the club off, make himself available for transfer (unofficially) and still draw his wage for us. He's an excellent goalie but he's a cunt for the way he's gone about things. Handing in a transfer request on the 30th January - fuck off Given. I don't wish injury on him but he's a prick.
-
And I think he avoided injury too... And that.

Did ok today. Nothing startling but filled a gap in the middle of the park and put himself about. A decent debut all things considered.

Definitely one of the quietest sets of fans this season. A few chants sporadically throughout the game but pretty quiet really. Expected a lot more noise.
-
Should have won that like. Could have lost it too, but the amount of pressure we had in that 2nd half should have won it.
-
Didn't even look close to being fit. Then again, how on earth do you assess his fitness? He always looks lazy as fuck 24/7.
-
We've still got 4 games against teams below us in the table. Do ok in those and we'll stay up. I think we will. We're an awful team but there are worse than us and we've still got a great chance to haul ourselves out of it with a couple of wins.
-
Bet he hasn't got an 8 foot great white dangling from his fucking ceiling though.
-
A pernicious influence in the squad.
-
I'd play Gutierrez just behind Carroll and Lovenkrands on the wing. Give Jonas the ball as much as possible and tell him to run at them.
-
Ask Kieron Dyer. Like any muscular injury i guess it depends on the severity of it. Could just be a generalisation like - wouldn't surprise me. He's out for a while whatever, really - but we already knew that. Seems a bit ott to say he won't play again before May but there you go.
-
A hamstring is normally only about 6 weeks isn't it?
-
He needs replacing and any offer for Butt should be accepted in the summer.

and Milner is helping to establish Villa in the top four. Whereas our 'brilliant' summer of transfers has us on the brink of relegation. if i had a choice of paying a little too much for transfers, and receiving slightly less than we're due on our sales, but getting in exactly who we need to improve us, then i would take that over some clever negotiating for average players like Nolan and Taylor or good players like Given and N'Zogbia. Neither of which wanted to even play for us again though. I'm all for keeping good players but if they refuse to play for us then what choice has the club got? But the reason they didn't want to be here was because the squad building in the summer has left us where we are and because we've showed very little ambition. At the moment, that's still true. No point selling your council house for a million quid if you then go and live in a cardboard box on the high street. That's fair enough. What were the club supposed to do under the circumstances though? The 2 players clearly don't want to be here so what else has the club to do other than to get the best deal possible for the pair of them? I agree but I'd rather they felt this football club was going forward and wanted to be part of it. At the moment we're a poorer side for the loss of these two imo, even with the new additions. Lot of work on incoming players to do before Monday for me. Given the state of the finances though? I'd love us to go out and spend £30m on 4 players but that's unrealistic. We've obviously got to sell before we can buy and selling Zog and replacing him with Nolan, Taylor and about £1m is good business no matter how you look at it. N'Zogbia refused to play so he was of no use to us at all. Add the £9m (or thereabouts) from Given and we can get 2 more decent players in for a player who doesn't want to be here. Throw Lovenkrands in and we've strengthened the squad without spending money. Those accounts changed everything.
