Chances are that they'll go into the game with their lot expecting them to win it. We're in turmoil and the mackems have had a field day rubbing it in and they'll start as favourites for the first time in decades. As I've said, if we go there with a decent team they'll s*** themselves. they must've been favourites the day of domi's goal (2-2) and that of o'brien's (the andy variety) equaliser. They may well have been with the bookies but I've never known them see themselves as favourites to beat us. They always hope to catch us on an off day and turn us over. I get the impression that they'll be disappointed if they don't win this time.

A lot will depend on who's fit for us. If we can put a strong team (and bench) out then we should have nothing to fear going down there. They're no great shakes and very beatable, but we'd need to play well.

Wonder if he'd sell Owen if someone offered about £3m in January for him?
-
Totally agreed. Clean slate needed and I'd be disappointed if the new owners, whoever they might be, go for Keegan.
-
Move to Blackburn.

Didn't realise there were as many good teams in it this year. Once the CL drop-outs get involved it'll be a good competition to watch...

I think he's a very good centre-half. He's made a few mistakes since he's been here admittedly but when you consider the general state of the club then it's not really surprising in my opinion. He certainly doesn't warrant people getting on his back after a handful of games. He's good enough for Argentina but he's not good enough for us? Fuck off.

Take it to pm's or drop it please folks.

Can we just play first goal the winner then? Can have an extra hour or so in the pub then Lets play goalie in and out, as well. Suits me! I've honestly got no clue as to how it's going to go. I'd probably go with the home team advantage though.

When 2 struggling teams play each other the result is always up in the air. Score first and I'd fancy us to go on and win it - If Everton score first we'll crumble. First goal wins it imo.

Silly having 2 threads on the same topic so it's merged.

It's quite nice having a bolshy get in charge of things, even if it is only for a month or two. Hopefully he's ruffling a few feathers in the dressing room too.
-
Reflects their culture though.

Good on him.

The body language was very negative like. He might have just been pissed off at losing but it could be something more. He certainly wasn't happy.
-
That's a shame. Quite like Everton and I'd rather they went through but on the flipside it probably means they're going to be feeling sorry for themselves on Sunday. On the other hand they might just take their frustrations out on us and twat us.

Stone wall pen. Went through the player. Baines was a bit unlucky because the Liege lad was looking for it but it was a definite pen imo.

sitting at an away game? daft lad

don`t think we turned him down? We were just too busy fannying about deciding whether to sign him or not before Hull nipped into sign him with a concrete offer We had him here for the day training and Keegan said he'd have a word with Wise and Jimenez and let them know what he thinks, 2 days later he's gone down to Hull to sign for them on loan. If Keegan wanted him he'd of signed him as far as I'm concerned, simple as that Keegan wasn't doing the transfers, I thought we all knew that. Keegan would of signed Owen on long term deal if he had that sort of power. Keegan made it quite clear that re-signing Owen was totally down to Mort to sort out. He made these comments before the Mackem derby in April.

Career over knee injury? Nah, nowt like that but he went down and stayed down. Subbed straight off and down the tunnel on a stretcher.
-
Drogba's just fucked his knee. Looks nasty. Badly twisted, possibly ligaments have gone. Reminded me of Owens injury at the World Cup.

Just a punt, but: That, thanks to our sooper dooper scouting system we've been left with only two recognised full backs in the whole squad, and we need emergency back up. He's looked on the freebie list and Carr is the only choice. Maybe it is? But we'd be bringing back a player who is so poor he's currently unemployed. He's not playing football for a reason and bringing him back is madness however you look at it.

What the fuck is Kinnear thinking?

Red shit are one up already. Kuyt.
