SSN said a medical had taken place I believe. I'm 80% sure (although they may have said it was happening tomorrow) but it seems a pretty much done deal ( *gets to work on altering the sig* ) If it doesn't happen, I'll hunt you down and shoot you like the dog you are...

Is this happening tomorrow? He's signing, for free, tomorrow? This has the potential to be the best Monday for a good long while....

I'm embarrassed we still pay him a wage. He should be playing for the Dun Cow on Sunday mornings.
-
Not at all. He speaks the truth. Dyer is a waste of oxygen. And £80,000 a week. He costs us £11,430 A DAY.

Ramage. Northern League standard. Awful, just awful.

Geremi has never ever played thirty games a season under Mourinho. 24 last season. No need to be petty over a few games, the point still stands. You just said he played 30 odd games a season! Last season, he started 15 league games - and that's the most he's ever played since Ranieiri was there. Your point doesn't stand. He was there to fill in because of a defensive crisis, same reason Michael Essien played at centre back. 30 odd, 24. A few games difference. considering Chelsea play roughly 60 a season I wasn't that far out. Chelsea play in more than the premiership as well. So I think my point is valid. Disagree if you like, it doesn't really bother me. See what you're getting at but he was never bought to play RB. It just so happened they needed someone to play RB and Mourinho thought he was the best option when he looked at his squad to fill in 'til Ferreira was back. Had Ferreira not have gotten injured, Geremi would barely have played last season. He was very much a 'squad player' who filled in when asked. Hardly a cornerstone of their Title-winning teams.
-
Started in midfield iirc. Mourinho moved him to right back when they needed an emergency RB. He can do a job there but, as Wullie says, that's not really his favoured position. The fact he'd make a better RB than Carr speaks volumes about Carr's abilities, or rather the lack of them.

Sheep? Cattle? Elephants?

Chicken and egg imo. Do you need the extra revenue from the bigger ground to improve the squad, or do you invest in the team to fill a bigger ground? If Ashley can afford both then it's all good baby.

Many BWFC supporters were very disgruntled with the football we played under Big Sam. At best it was functional and regimented, at worst it was absolutely dire. True we were successful but crowds have fallen steadily and in part this can be attributed to the football we played sometimes. I think Big Sam did an excellent job at Bolton, and I reckon he'll be a good appointment for Newcastle, but I have to say, the football Bolton played at our place last season was the worst I've seen in a long time, constant niggling and physical stuff plus the long ball at every opportunity. Having said that, you absolutely mugged us for the three points, so it clearly works. I think he's one of those managers who cuts his cloth accordingly, and we'll see a different approach at Newcastle. He had exactly the same approach at Blackpool and Notts County before he joined BWFC. We finished in the top eight for the last four seasons running. The only teams who accumulated more points than us during that period were Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal, so statistically we were the fifth best team in the country over that period. I doubt that he will change his style for Newcastle. Big Sam's attitude will be 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'! Wait 'til NE5 see's that. He'll piss fire.

I've heard he's a bit of a flyer...

If Roeder can gain 7th then Allardyce should be expected to do better. Totally agree but Roeder's 7th isn't a true reflection of his (non) ability as a manager. As I said, we should target Top 6. Allardyce has inherited a bit of a mess and it may take a while before we're up there competing for Champions League. I'm just saying I'm prepared to give him a it of time to get us up there again and a 'disappointing' 7th or 8th shouldn't mean the sack for him.

All I can say is that, for the first time in about 5 years, I'm really, really looking forward to next season. He's shifted most of the shite on and replaced them with better barely spending a penny in the process. It sounds like he's putting things right behind the scenes and, with a wedge of cash to spend, he's in Barcelona currently trying to strengthen the squad. I'm quietly confident that he knows what needs to be done and he's capable of doing it. He's talking sense in his interviews and I think he's got his head screwed on. In my opinion we should be targeting the Top 6. That doesn't mean that finishing 7th should be seen as failure or him losing his job. It's more a case of setting high targets and going for it rather - than being delighted over a top-half finish. Can't wait for opening day.

Trust me, you WILL be fully prepared for each and every game. Every player will know their role. Gone are the days of conceeding goals at free-kicks and corners. Just be prepared to sacrifice flair for efficiency. (We lost to Charlton TWICE last season!) You didn't see much of us last season, did you?
-
Agree with TT on this War Room thing. Sounds fucking class. Just hope this means we'll be fully prepared for every match, unlike last season where we showed up looking soft as shite. Charlton away was the classic example. Everyone on this board knew we'd get raped, by one of the worst teams in the league, and we did. Bring more of this stuff on.

You can add Emerson and Branco to that list Spec.
-
You mean to say that we're not allowed to count Mirandinha? Aye, but you're forgetting that he was up here before football was invented in 1992.
-
I think he is overpriced, but i would put money on it that he scores more goals for spurs, than owen does for newcastle. If i was a spurs fan, given a straight choice id have bent over carrick 7 days a week. I know it's childish....
-
Not exactly beyond the realms of possibility is it? No reason to suggest he's lying as he's been proved right in the past. Beye's got to be an improvement on Carr, Shirley?

Just a bit too young to recall that one but I do remember sitting in front of the telly being mesmerised at the Quarter Final between France and Brazil in Mexico '86. Game finished 1-1 and the frogs won on pens. Platini was the best in the world at that time, bar none. Great team, great game. That was a fantastic game too like and I almost mentioned it in my post. The Brazil side had some of the '82 side but they were past their peak a bit. Platini was fantastic at the time and had been two years earlier in the Euro Championships when he guided them to victory. I'm going to have to pull you up though as Maradona was better at the time. How could you forget him in '86 man? I relent, Maradona was the best at that time but Platini was a very close second. I think France were just about the best team of that era but Maradona was sensational and won that World Cup virtually single-handedly Both top, top players. Aye, France beaten in the semis by the Jormans just like they were four years earlier. In '82 the final should have been Brazil v France and the Frogs were unlucky to be so drained from that quarter against Brazil in '86 too. They could have easily won both tournaments with the players they had. Especially in midfield. I loved Platini like. Did you know he was top scorer in Serie A three years running at around that time whilst at Juventus? Some achievement for a midfielder even if he did take all the free-kicks/penalties. I knew he took the pens like and always seemed like Robson with a boat-load of skill. Arriving late in the box to finish moves off. How old are you again? You must have a few years on me if you can still remember details of '82. I can remember bits and pieces of '82 but '86 was the first World Cup I can remember. I'm 32 but I can remember Espana '82 pretty well even though I was only 7 (and 3/4 ) at the time. England went home unbeaten winning 3 and drawing 2 as well but they had a daft 3 group stage instead of last 16/ quarter finals. I can especially remember Brazil's matches and England's. Also the France - W Germany semi and the final. Italy - Brazil stands out though. Aye, you've got a year or two on me! Is it just me, or were games better back then? Genuinely can't even remember the other Semi Finalists of either 2002 or 2006.

Surely he'd have to pass some kind of medical before he signs?...
-
Was wondering how long it would be before we saw a team, bearing in mind no-one knows who we originally went out here to scout...
-
Triple swoop. Eto'o, Deco and Edmilson.

Like the sound of this like.
