Maldini is an absolute legend of the modern game. He's been at the top of European football for nearly a quarter of a century. Can't think of another player who comes remotely close to him. If there are 8 cynical fouls before half time there should really be 8 yellows (reds if serious). A lenient ref is a good ref in a Cup final imo. As long as he's impartial, I can't see the harm in letting a few things go - keeping 22 players on the park for the full 90.
