Sloppy as fuck from King there. Fucking needless free kick given away. What was it some pleb was telling us a few days ago - cleanest tackler in the league.....gimme a break.
-
Moot point. They'll probably leave when you walk in anyway.
-
'Difficult second season' syndrome or has he just lost his way completely?
-
Just hope it's a good game. I always enjoy watching Brazil play and I think the fact they'll be facing an England team that'll be scared of it's own shadow will play into their hands. Nice big pitch to knock it about and if Brazil are up for it - they'll hit 3 or 4 past us.
-
The players we needed went last summer and we missed the boat. Aimar and Van Der Vaart. They went for about £6m each roughly and while Roeder umm'ed and ahhr'ed about signing Duff, these lads signed for Zaragoza and Hamburg respectively. A fucking travesty.

I would literally piss myself if he walked out. Can't see it happening unfortunately but if some mackems are sleeping a little less sound then it's all good. They don't deserve oxygen, the cunts.

Good stuff. Can't see how anyone could possibly question shipping out Sibierski and bringing in Viduka. He'll be a great foil for Martins or Owen. More of the same please Sam.

Apart from Owen Hargreaves Man Utd have consolidated rather than improved the quality of the first team squad. If Chelsea could get a top striker who works well immediately with Drogba then Man Utd and Chelsea's first teams are evenly matched again. Don't care how you slice it - Man U are significantly stronger than they were a week ago. They've added 3 top players to their squad and Chelsea & Jose will have to pull a few rabbits out to get near them.

I don't think that Chelsea have much to catch up next season to be honest. They were seriously impeded by the unlikely and prolonged absence of Cech and Terry. Even though Schevchenko and Ballack failed to lit up the league Chelsea were not far behind Manchester United. They won 2 cups, reached CL semi final, 2nd in the Premiership. A very commendable achievement under restricted playing resources (Chelsea's own fault I know). Anderson and Nani are not guaranteed success yet. And in any case they are not going to replace Scholes and Giggs outright. It will still be the same old Man U (Rooney-Scholes-Giggs-Ronaldo) vs Chelsea. Buying these 3 means that Man U have severely strengthened the current best team in the league. Chelsea are playing catch-up for the first time in 3 years. They've got to better these 3 deals if they're going make a run at the title. Now that Chelsea have tightened the purse-strings, I just can't see them matching Man U next season after this.
-
Hat's off to Man U for this like. They've just splashed £50m on 3 top, top players. Ferguson obviously thought they were a bit short going forward and he's gone out and solved the problem. Carrick not quite up to filling Keane's boots? - fuck it, here's Hargreaves to lend a hand. Chelsea are going to seriously have to catch up next season. They finished 6(?) points behind and Man Utd have sorted their weaknesses already. I expect them to be fucking electric going forward next season.

I would honestly have been expecting to make a loss on the lad given his 'form' this season. For some thick twat to offer £2m clear of what we paid for him is beyond belief. However, if West Ham have made their opening bid £8.5m, then I'd like to see us reject it and settle for about £9.5m.

Think you've slightly over-egged the pudding there mind. He's good but he's not that good. I don't. Seriously, I like to think I can be objective, even about Spurs, and he is the dogs. I wish he got the praise he deserves :'( Not gonna happen when he's playing DM for England though. AGAIN. Ahead of Carrick. f****** tosspot of a manager. Fair enough, but I don't think you'd get too many neutrals agreeing with you that he's one of the top CB's in Europe - regardless of who he plays for. He's simply not. You're entitled to your opinion though. You shouldn't have to justify yourself (and it's always rather tedious analyzing a player's strengths and weaknesses in detail), but could you tell me why not? There must be some weakness - is it consistency, positioning, strength, tackling, aggression?? Personally, I can't see it - he's done a magnificent job on the pitch for both Spurs and England for a good 4 or 5 years now. Could you name me an elite player outside the top 3 or 4 clubs in any league? Defenders go even more unnoticed. I think it's natural to dismiss certain players because of the clubs they play for, just at a subconscious level. Woodgate, when he can keep himself fit, for a start. I think I would put Woodgate and King in the same sort of bracket. I'm pretty sure that if you saw Ledley even half the amount of times you've seen Woodgate, you'd change your mind. Don't get me wrong, I don't think King is a bad player at all. But the top 4 clubs' CB's are, arguably:- Ferdinand, Vidic, Terry, Carvalho, Carragher, Agger, Toure and Gallas. If you put them into some kind of order, King would only be above Agger imo. I don't think he's as good as the other 7. vidic? the guy has had one good season in the league yet he's already better then King who has had a number of excellent seasons? Ferdinand >>>>> King King >>>>> vidic Terry >>>>> King Carvlho >>>>> King King >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Carragher King >>>>> Agger King = Toure King = Gallas (would have king over Gallas though as Gallas is declining and has looked very dodgy this season) Just my opinion. Vidic has looked excellent this season. I've been impressed every time I've watched him - and I think he'll be even better next season too. Better than stagnating like King has been doing for the last 5 years. That lad needs to be playing Champions League football if he's going to improve.

The way Adriano greets Appiah is a bit weird if you ask me. Might want to snip that link...

Used to be the best in the world at the job he did for the team and still would improve us even though he's very much 'on the way down'. He'd cost a bomb in wages though and I highly doubt he'd even consider us all things considered. I'm pretty sure he'll go back to the La Liga and who could blame him tbh!

It wouldn't bother me if Newcastle brought a new home kit out every year. There's no written rule you've even got to buy the kit. You buy it if you like it...unless you're a sheep that is.

I think this more than anything needs crushed. Doesn't help when our own dear chairman still pontificates that we're one of the top clubs in Europe, biggest job in football blah, blah, blah. It raises expectation to a ridiculous level with some people. d'you think it raised the expectation or did he go slightly over the top but he had to say things along those lines (couldn't really say "had to get rid of the last fellah and nobody wants to come within 200miles of this place"), lot's of people knew this but still used it to beat him with. What I'm saying is, some people automatically believe something purely because 'it's in the paper'. These same people may also have access to the internet...

England teams for as long as I can remember have too often looked like they were introduced to each other in the tunnel before the game. Not enough stability and continuity in the starting XI's. Too many meaningless friendlies and too many players picked to 'have a look at'. FFS, scout the player and either bring him into the squad and keep him there or don't pick him at all. The media clamouring for their favourites is only slightly less sickening than the manager relenting and picking them. PS. Also fucked off at club managers moaning that their players are expected to play in Internationals as well as club games.

Parker in his Charlton form is a vastly superior player than Barton has ever shown. Whether or not Allardyce can get it out of him, or whether indeed Parker is capable of reproducing it is another matter, however.
-
What do you think about signing Joey Barton? Obviously he has a bit of a temper but I'm hoping Sam could curb that and we could get to see some excellent football from the lad as we know hes capable TBH if SA cant control him we can just sell him on, He is a good player and we need a midfielder who knows how to get forward. How many has Barton got this season? 2 more than that cockney wanker Parker... Hardly prolific though is he? Does seem like an Allardyce-type of player.
