  1. For Mick http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php/topic,27727.0.html or someone could bump it???
  2. Agree totally with that. Could be wrong here but got the impression Roeder 'hid' in the dugout because feared a bit of stick from the crowd had he come to the touchline. Reminded me of Sven tbh... bluebigeek.gif
  3. Magic. bluesigh.gif All we need now are injuries to Rooney and Saha and Man U will recall Rossi....
  4. Whilst he can't come out and slate the lads who he's got to work with, some of the comments in that little statement are fucking staggering. We were allowed time and space due to Charlton's lack of ambition in the first half. Second half they grew in confidence and changed the system and could quite easily have won it. How he can be pleased with that is beyond belief. Fucking Charlton ffs....
  5. A mistake we're still paying the price for, agreed? The club may pay the ultimate price at the rate it's going. I think it'll take a few years to recover from the Souness debacle. You mean bankruptcy? Do you blame anyone in particular for this mistake? No, I mean relegation. Fairly sure that relegation and the subsequent drop in income would quickly lead to bankruptcy though... Anyway, do you blame anyone in particular for the mistake? Ahem...[/clearsthroat] Yes, I blame Souness for taking a team from 5th position, spending £50m and making it worse. I blame the Board for appointing a bad manager, something I hope they have corrected with Roeder but only time will tell on that one. You should take something for that throat. So lets get this right, Shepherd appoints Souness, gives him £50m to spend, realises he's fucked up, sacks him to avoid relegation and you still want this twat to run the football club you care so much about? Do you trust him to get it right? There has to be some accountability. No other business with the multi-million turnover we have would put up with such incompetence. In the real world, Shepherd would have been sacked for his poor judgement. It's not his fault money has been squandered by managers but HE appointed them and signed every cheque. He's got to walk. Shepherd out.
  6. You need to get a grip. If most of us (ie other clubs) had put up with the shit you've put up with, there'd be nobody left to watch, end of. Aye, the hard times have certainly hit Newcastle United Football Club like. Premiership team, European Football, Still in the Carling Cup, Multi-Million Pound players. Can't imagine anything worse tbh. Glad you can acknowledge the difference between us and you lot. Well done. Very much so, I congratulate Newcastle for the fact that they at least try (albeit usually hilariously unsuccessfully from my point of view)to gain success. While Sunderland failed to even attempt that when we had our best chance of doing so in absolute donkeys years. Spot on. I applaud your magnanimous nature. You truly know your place in the real world - well done.

  9. Always try to catch the Red Star whenever possible but they're away to Thornaby this weekend. Good luck to all the NE teams in the Cup this weekend.

  13. Errr, I was in a definite minority when being slated for saying I thought Fred shouldn't give Souness a penny in that January transfer window. I don't recall you backing me up on that one at the time. Are you now saying I was right? By inference you are suggesting that we should have kept faith with Ronny Johnsen and Robbie Elliott as our central defence, rather than strengthening and replacing Woodgate (who was sold so late to the window closing than no replacement could be brought in)? We also bought Faye and Babayaro as squad players. Was this a good move or not? It was a bad move. The club should have sacked Souness and allowed a competent manager to spend the money. That is what I said at the time. Sorry like. So you'd have sacked him after 4 months in the job? I'd have sacked him after the match away to Charlton, however long into the season that was. Fair enough. I wouldn't have even interviewed him for the job. :|

  16. Has it come to this? Hoping for a point at home to bottom-of-the-league ****ing Charlton Athletic if we score first? However, with 4 points taken out of the last 24 available... It's a shite state of affairs. :wullie: I think it has come to this, no matter how far fetched that would have seemed only a few years ago. The scary thing is - if Bent rattles one in after 15 mins, I'd gladly take a point.

  18. It's must-win for us. I think we'll edge it 2-1 but there'll be hell on if Charlton win. Rossi will score and so will Bent for them.

    Shearer happy

Was Walker as desperate as Shepherd? I think he knows he's got one roll of the dice left and Shearer is it. Would be a massive gamble but I genuinely think it would be one Shepherd would take. If we're still bottom 6 come Xmas, it's goodbye Roeder and hello Shearer. :|

Got a feeling he'll be gainfully employed at a certain club soon enough...
  21. Let's keep Irish politics out of this eh?
  22. Despite these results, the share price has only fallen 0.5p. http://www.citywire.co.uk/Shares/ShareFactsheet.aspx?InstrumentID=2335 Either the results aren't as bad as we think or the prospect of a takeover is closer than we think? blueconfused.gif
  23. There's a joke in there somewhere...
  24. Laugh or Cry? Fucking hell man.
