i agree. roy hodgson is no mug and he will try to take advantage of bullard and murphy getting space through the middle and they are clever players who will find space if it's there.it could all depend on how much cover hodgson will leave to cover our forward 3.

he'd be stupid to sign a new contract without knowing which division the club will be in next season...likewise the club would be stupid to offer one for the same reason. i think both owen and the club understand each others positions. i'm pretty sure NONE of the major earners will be signing new contracts till we have sorted out what division we'll be in. fucking obvious to me but some will need it spelled out.

i think a lot of people are going off when he played against us for, i think it was hairybean and he did look very good. especially in the game over here. also thinking like that would mean van horseface and van persie would never have been brought over. the problem is sorting out those who can cut it from those who can't.

aye, Geremi's much better like mackems.gif mackems.gif mackems.gif lets at least compare a forward with a forward........lets say albert luque or patrick kluivert or andreas andersson. Ok then Mark Viduka, "good business" i'll see your mark viduka and raise you a paul kitson Wasn't Viduka signed when Shepherd was still in charge? not sure, but irrelevant. The point is that a world class footballer is being dismissed as a "FS type signing" Scraping the depths, I couldn't think of a funnier comment if I tried. As Keegan says he'd like him, does this mean he wouldn't be an Ashley trophy signing Fantastic. 'Nuff said. I won't labour the point. and you'll make out that all fat freds signings were world class....they werent. at the time we were in the s*** and robson came in what did we get...? kevin gallagher. no doubt NE5 was screaming at the board for being s**** then aswell thats not the point at all, which you know very well. Thierry Henry = Shepherd trophy signing or Ashley/Keegan quality signing. Seeing as it seems it has to be spelled out for you. Utterly priceless. Thank you and Goodnight. where do i mention trophy signings or even give my opinion of wether i think he'd be a good signing or not ? not priceless...actually quite pitiful

he did....and he didn't. he did say it but when put in context with the rest of his answer you get the feeling he didn't measn it.

his attacking side may flourish when he has confidence in those around him not to leave him exposed if he does go forward.
-
riise isn't as bad a lot make out. still dont think we need him mind.
-
not just to the right but through the middle. he doesn't give the ball away much either. has to be said he is a fetch and carry in his own half where as on occasion martins can make something happen from there.

The big problem with playing all 3 is the lack of width in the team, it wouldn't be too bad if our fullbacks were better going forward but sadly they're not. I also thought Viduka suffered by not having a midfielder pushing forward that he could lay the ball back to. Agree, just said in the Riise thread that I think both our full-backs could be replaced in the summer. Keegan will want more attack-minded players instead. As for the second point, that's what Barton should have been doing I thought. But he wasn't really at the races getting forward. In the system we played last night I think we'd benefit from having either Emre or N'Zogbia on instead of Geremi or Barton, giving us a better balance with a leftie in midfield. Ideally, if Barton started playing well we could drop Geremi and play Barton and N'Zogbia either side of Butt and encourage them to drive forward and get into wide positions. I think the problem in midfield comes from our fullbacks being poor going forward tbh. If Enrique and Beye could get up and down better then we could have played a midfield triangle with two sat deep and Barton pushing on, instead we had to rely on Barton and Geremi to pull out wide which meant nobody was in the middle to push on. or could it be we are that rubbish defensivly from midfield the full backs don't want to commit as neither of our wide midfielders have the tactical nouse to read a game and try to cover or be in a position to cover.............or dare i say it....the desire to cover ? No, the fullbacks are just poor going forward, you can tell it's just not a natural part of their game. i think they do ok and will do better with confidence, however defending has been the worst part of our game this season so you can't blame them too much for not wanting to move too far away. thought enrique done well last night when he had someone to pass to.

Viduka, 3? he's only marking martins on 2nd half aswell
-
and relegation is the only way to do it ?
-
at least 3 times beyes had the ball 20-25yds out in space with men in the box and he's delayed and ended up playing it back to geremi.
-
Enrique seems to only have the hoof it down the other end pass in his locker. has he got other options ?
-
thinking it'll be a 4-3-1-2 with martins pulling wide on either side from the front 2. can't see it being an orthadox 4-3-3. not sure about it myself, midfierld looks very lopsided with and without the ball.of that 16 i'd have played n'zogbia instead of barton.. prove me wrong lads (please)

dforum name of "siscko2ndbest" advocating relegation may not be all bad. irony overload.

chilled. whatever happens will happen. we have enough in our squad to get something from it though form suggests otherwise. at work early so i'll be watching completely sober.

the bottom pic must've been a second or so after solano hit the bar...................if not i cant understand what the keepers doing with the ball apparently in the air in the box. we were just entering the stadium as that happened. saw the ball hit the bar and go up but it took another 2 or 3 secs to find out it was th e inter keeper in that goal and we were attacking.
