    Match Atmosphere

Hasn't that always been the case all over ? Fan bases will get straight behind in "important" games but in general there's little beyond a "come on"...... not even a 70s "you're gonna get your fuckin' head kicked in".

    Match Atmosphere

I wonder if the sound level, if measured in the centre circle, was louder then or now. I think at times the atmosphere seemed better because, if you were in the centre of the Gallowgate (80s) you were right in amongst it, literally pressing against each other. For anyone stood in the paddocks, or the Leazes after the roof came off, the atmosphere wasn't all that.
  3. Possibly. They said about 3 weeks and Man Utd will be 3 weeks.
  4. Doesn't he have form for this though ? And as much as his personal circumstances have been terrible it could also give perspective.
  5. It's a non story really. Imagine City also having to stump up probably in the region of 100kpw in wages as I'd guess Philips is on 250k plus.

Correlation does not prove causation. Which leagues were used as control groups ie have fouls remained constant in leagues where VAR isn't in use ? Have referees been told to let the game go a bit (the answer is yes) ? I like VAR when it's quick and gets stuff right. It pisses me off when it takes ages and comes to a decision only the ref and a bloke in a booth out of the whole country can see and sometimes looks like they are looking for a reason to allow or disallow something.
  7. Re Toney, any ban should be X amount of league and domestic Cup games rather than Months. Like bans for sendings off etc.

Experience should be your guide. Our first goal you knew was OK. The second (I was sat with the fatha-in-law) I said would be reviewed but on the first replay said it would stand because of the two deliberate touches by the defenders.

So we are both right, you can like it because it works where you often see it, we can dislike because it often doesn't work ? Re the amount of fouls dropping across two tournaments and diving dropping, I'm not going to read them now bit is there a proven causal link to them as opposed to they happen less because the game has changed.

That goes for players as well amazingly.

It's not that we hate VAR, we hate that they get stuff obviously wrong and VAR was supposed to put an end to that.

Does that include non-decisions, which are still decisions in themselves ?
  13. See.... Tiote was interfering with play outside the keepers line of sight so offside. Two weeks later......Negredo is not interfering with play when offside despite stepping over the ball.

And do those correct decisions include non-decisions when the ref takes no action and they aren't viewed as serious enough for VAR ?

But wouldn't that have to mean that both defenders made no direct attempt at playing the ball but merely reacted ? Na! That's not what I saw.
  16. And it's taken you so long To find out you were wrong When you thought it held everything. Gerry Rafferty's "Potter Street"
  17. Looked like no contact to me like. Pen all day though
  18. Toneys ban eventually started.

I wouldn't be sure given the refereeing performance yesterday.

He was also nowhere near Felipes original touch from which he seems to be being ruled offside.

    1. I'd have thought it would have been from the attacker playing the ball (Isak) and the defender playing it (Felipe). If so, as Neville pointed out, he had plenty of time, it wasn't driven at him and he had time to try and play it not just block it. If it's Niakhate then the ball has already been deliberately played by Felipe. 2. Again I don't think it was and neither did the pundits or most neutral fans. 3. N/A 4. Again no one seems to see Felipes or Niakhates movement as being instinctive but pretty obvious deliberate playing of the ball except you, the ref,the VAR ref and some but not all Forest fans.
