  1. I've been Newspaperless since The Independent went online.
  2. Times reader eh ? I've lost a little respect for him.
  3. Willock trained yesterday so should be OK. Joelinton is touch and go. Shelvey has the least chance of the 3 according to Physio room. Could have a Joelinton, Bruno, Willock middle 3 for tomorrow. Maxi not even on the list so seems good to go. My one issue is that in the game up here they did have decent spells where they cut through us quite easily up to 25yds out but still confident of getting at least a point from this.
  4. And West Brom looked good
  5. I was slightly taking the rise mate re it being a doc. On hols a few year back in Florida doing the shows and there's a re enactment from an Indiana Jones.....they set it up on a big screen.....3 of us shout "Its Bomber".....in time to hear another couple shout from the other end "It's Bomber"
  6. Didn't we have a larger capacity than Liverpool for quite a while ? And does capacity equal much ? They done better than us in the years leading up to their takeover, financed on the never never that, had Abramovic not got in a Chelsea supporting taxi or whatever, could have lead to administration for them.
  7. I saw a documentary once about some Geordie brickies in the 80s working in Germany. One of their gang was a Bristol lad, Rovers fan, big lad he was as well. I think they stuck together and got on well for series....I mean years.
  8. They had half a dozen years top 6, we at that time had 2. Did they win the cup ? And had a much higher profile but like I said it was on the back of spending money They couldn't afford.
  9. We were, they'd been top 6 for 6yrs. We'd been there 2year, mid table before that.
  10. Money has always been in it. The supposed oldest club in the world, Sheffield fc, was set up to make money from the cricket pitch in the winter, then we get to Alf Common's transfer and the dodgy deals to induce players to move before that. Money has always been a deciding factor....just know the figures are ridiculous.
  11. Did they not have about 6 seasons finishing too 5 or 6 ?

    Sunderland

I'd forgot about this, just rewatching to have a bit respite from the war and stuff and....... fast forward to 34mins for about a minute
  13. They were like. Granted because they spent a load on players that they couldn't really pay for.
  14. Getting investment into a precarious football club was very iffy. They didn't have the history and cache they now have. Investment would have had to come through the financial institutions and I can't see what would be in it for them.
  15. Well we know that was a lie.
  16. I remember it the other way round.
  17. No Buck said they were dead and I don't remember even Ashley trying to say that he saved us from imminent demise. Edit....if not dead, severely wounded and in a critical condition. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2005/oct/17/newss
  18. See, being brought up outside Newcastle is a parental failure.
  19. And according to legend Abramovic actually wanted to buy Spurs
  20. That was a condition of sale (or rather a condition of change of ownership), not because the banks were calling us in.
  21. According to Bruce Buck they were a week from administration when Abramovic came in.
  22. Knew kids at school supported Leeds and (one of my best mates) Liverpool. I always thought it was weird. 99% later came over to NUFC......except that mate.
  23. Crikey I did. My address was drummed into me from when I could speak.
