This. Perez coming on instead of Mitrovic arguably cost us the game.

Are we getting weekly blocks ? I'll go for the week commencing 17th December.

Doubt he needs the money for anything else, however he'll know it's highly unlikely he'd be in such a good position to sell again without having to invest.

Would be a bit mad to take it, considering they could very easily swap divisions with them at the end of the season. Can imagine the mackems would probably quadruple his wages, at least. The might be in the s*** but they still have ample more than Shrewbury. It’s win-win for him, if he goes to the mackems and fails then he’ll get a handsome payoff and return to a League 1 or 2 job next season. If he is successful, it could be great for his career. Even keeping the mackems up at this stage would be a mini success. A massive risk for the mackems though, a huge gamble and they better hope it comes off. Paul Hurst wouldn't be the worst option. Doing a great job at Shrewsbury, got Grimsby promoted back to the league prior to that. He's young and hungry, and would be better than getting in Bally or SEWPA KEV in FFS Would it be a good choice for him though ? No money to build, a team already down among the dead. Wouldn't he be better off waiting for an opportunity at somewhere in a position better than there ?

Exactly. No news is probably very good news at the moment. This.

Those processes take weeks because we are in a cue and having our checks done. I'd be surprised if Stavely's backers are in a similar situation. So you reckon this should be done already? Don't be daft. No and that's not what I was posting. Your "don't be daft " comment should be directed at the idea that you or me buying a car or house is in anyway indicative of the current possible takeover timescale doncha think ?

Should Birmingham win later on, the bottom 3 will be cut 5 points adrift.

More bad news for Sunderland when it was announced that the FA Trophy replay between South Shields and Farsely Celtic would be on Tuesday, clashing with their Home game with Bolton. Yet more pressure on their attendances.

not in my recollection and I'm on Tesside nearly every working day and have for 30yrs. Better example would be the Gallowgate end. An established name that gets changed, what does everyone call it.......it's already established name. If Man City had stayed at Maine Road would people call it the Etihad or Maine Road ? Lie I say, depends how it's done and I'd rather they didn't but it's not a line in the sand for me, not like club colours or club name. If Maine Road had been the Etihad for 20 years, it would be known universally as the Etihad and the amount of people who called it Maine Road would be shrinking on a daily basis. We'll have to disagree on that then. Edit...as an aside are the official names of the Leazes and Gallowgate still Sir John Hall stand and Brown Ale stand. Can't remember them being changed back but I know the map on the club website referes to the original names.
-
Aye, even talking about new owners changing the name is getting a bit ahead of ourselves.

One of the most batshit things I've read on here in a while Don't think he's being serious.

I don't think anyone is fine with the prospect of the stadium changing names but I do think an awful lot of fans would accept the sacrifice if it meant major investment in the squad. Ideally this cash would come in without the need to change the name but it seems inevitable really. I'll still call it SJP regardless of the name change anyway. Thats exactly it. How many called it by what the name was changed to last time which I can't even remember the proper format of it. Everyone carried on and called it what we always had, not even out of principle. This is just not true. Media outlets outright refused to call it SJP. A stadium name doesn't have to be used in the press very long before the previous name ceases to exist. I meant people on the street, mates in pubs etc. I listen to very little punditry crap that I wouldn't know if they used it or not so aren't bothered what they do. Not sure what your mates call it is really what's at stake tbh. That's when I hear it most and thats what matters most to me, what we the fans call it as opposed to someone sitting in a studio that I don't listen to. Kids across the country and the world don't listen to your mates. In twenty years time, St James' Park is lost to history. Depends how it's done obviously. Boro's ground was the Cellnet Riverside Stadium but everyone just called it The Riverside stadium. For example The Nike St James' park, officially it would be called that on tele etc but I'd imagine most people would just opt for St James' Park.

Could say that about anything Ashley's done. If he changed the kit, the badge and the club name, the stadium would be full by the weekend. Agree with George Bailey from earlier that the name and colours are the lines in the sand (I've been through plenty of badge changes). My mate in the pub will still wear a black and white scarf so I don't care about the colours. It is different. When you go you can't avoid seeing the colours, don't know how often I hear St James' park mentioned during my usual week (and even then most get it wrong!)

didn't UEFA decide that both PSG's and City's "sponsorships" didn't count and fined them and reduced CL squad size for FFP breaches? I could live with that.

Rerospective, really ? Never knew that. Shows how much of a farce FFP is and a good FFP system is desperately needed.
-
It was a PR disaster because we got nothing for it. Even just looking at some of the replies on here will show that quite a number wouldn't be too bothered if it was well worth it financially. It's bound to cause a split. No one wants to lose the name because of the heritage, but no one wants to chug along in the bottom half of the table with someone like Pardew in charge either. Money is crucial to compete at the top, and we'll just have to see if losing the name ends up being part of it. Hopefully not. And sponsorship is a huge way round FFP I think. (Isn't that how Man City get round it, sponsor the training ground and Stadium for ridiculous amounts ?)

Last time when it was Polygon/Paragon ? Who looked at the books and done a runner there had been another interested party that done likewise and I don't believe was ever made public as to who it was.
