Because 3 years ago we were desperate to be above Liverpool, not looking over our shoulders at the shittest of the shit? Bingo!
  2. Has he burned a newcastle shirt and pissed on the ashes while whistling rule britannia yet? Or did they edit that out?

It depresses me to be happy nowadays when Liverpool are beating Charlton. Does that make any sense?
  4. Doesn't sound like an all-out denial that it's going to happen to me, sounds like they could just be being diplomatic cos it's not all tied up yet. The NUFC statement hasn't made me think it's any less likely to happen at all.

    £20 million?

We could get a Luque and a Boumsong for that money and still have enough for a bus ride home. I'd rather spend a portion on bringing in some decent training and medical staff/facilities than buy Beckham and have him join the long term injury list.
  6. From that Mail article. Excellent news (if true). Unless they employ Freddy Shepherd
  7. Aye, sommat like that I dunno like, I've got a funny feeling we could rattle them a bit. I had a dream we could win 0-2 was the score i think they scored own goals though lol I might whack a 5er on PS did you get my mii? Yeah, I think so! I got a load at once tho so I can't really remember. Just sent you some.

  9. There is actually precident in UK law that Paki is a racist term. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/2993908.stm
  10. Is cunt offensive? Who decides? If I say cunt to someone's five year old without knowing it's offensive, is it wrong? How can you make a sweeping judgement about it? Why is it offensive? Just because of what people think? Is 'damn' offensive? Why not? it used to be, didn't it? How come it isn't as offensive any more? Is it because of what people think? The meaning of words is completely governed by what people think, and if you're going to argue about sematics then that's what it's going to come down to. What people think. And in this case, the people using it know it's a racial slur anyway because that's why they're using it so I'm not sure why the thread has gone in this direction anyway. Black isn't a racist term but if someone says "What do you think of london" and someone replies "It's full of blacks" then you sound pretty racist without using a 'racist word' at all.
  11. I quite enjoy the tabloid sensationalism. The English Democratic Party are my favorite new "inverse political correctness" nutters at the moment. Some organisation made Christmas cards out of a painting called the Wilton Diptych, which shows the virgin mary, baby jesus and a load of angels (all caucasian at that). The printers cropped the image so that the angels, jesus and mary filled the front of the card. Fatal error, because at the very top left of the picture there's a small flag which could be either the flag of the ressurection or the St George Cross. The EDP went mental and started talking about anti-english angendas and pandering to minorities by self-hating brits (Of course you'd think if they were involved in an anti-white-christian-english conspiracy, this organisation would have chosen something slightly more secular than Jesus and the Virgin Mary for their christmas cards.) I'd put those guys in the same bracket as the muslim bloke who claimed McDonalds deliberately made the creamy swirl on their McFlurry lid look like arabic for Allah to offend muslims. But they manage to avoid being branded politically correct.
  12. True. But then they'd find a different word. The word cunt has quite innoffensive roots in a word that was probably about as offensive as fanny decades ago, but you wouldn't call your mum one because of how it's used in britain today. Nigger is probably based on negro and you could claim it's factually accurate. If it wasn't used in the way it was in America in the last 100 years, maybe it would be as acceptable as the word black. There's no logical reason why the letters cunt are offensive and can't isn't, but call a copper a cunt when you pile out the clubs in newcastle and you'll have a hard time arguing that it was just short for scunthorpe.
  13. If you've got a problem the fact paki is considered a racist term for anyone of asian appearance in the UK then you should take it up with people who use it as a racist term for anyone of asian appearance in the UK.
  14. Do they refer to the indians as pakis as well? British people smoke fags, American men have fannies. If you make the "OK" hand gesture in some countries you're calling someone an arsehole. The point being that some things have different connotations in different countries depending on usage.
  15. Yep, all racism should be treated the same. Black and asian people can be racist, just as white people can be "politically correct" and see anti-white conspiracy everywhere.
  16. I don't remember gloating about that to be honest. I do remember threads about some of the chants you mentioned. At no point did anyone start posting "But what about this racist chant for 3 years ago, why isn't anyone talking about that?" It's not, and I've never said it is. But I don't think you can say "Well of course people make monkey noises at black players, xxxxxx of them are drug dealers you know, they're the people responsible. Cause and effect."
  17. So do you admit that the song was having a go at 'pakis' then? How many blacks in the UK need to be drug dealers before it's acceptable to be racist against them? Quarter of a million?
  18. Does this work across the board? Like, are black people responsible for anti-black racism because they steal cars and sell drugs? Are any racists responsible for their actions at all? When some asian lads give a kid walking home shit just for being white, who's responsible? White people who put dog shit through asian people's houses? Is there anyone responsible for their own actions? The song's been around before 7/7 and even 9/11 anyway, trying to shift responsibility is a cop out.
  19. It's OK, singing 10 german bombers isn't as bad as the holocaust, making hissing sounds at Spurs fans isn't as bad as killing Palestinians etc etc
  20. I'd say it was more acceptable than demanding mass murder because of a cartoon though, wouldnt you ? So? EDIT: Oh, I get it. That's what pakis do, isn't it.
  21. What about calling someone from India a paki? How about calling someone from Nigeria a nigger? Presumably this argument is that paki isn't racist because it's short for pakistan and the fans weren't being racist by implying that having lots of "pakis" in your town is a bad thing, because football fans are known for just singing non-insulting facts about the other teams city like "You've got the second largest bridge in england" and "You're just a town full of grey squirrels".
  22. Definitely starting to look better, still missing some sitters though.
