Pick up the sword, leave the machine gun. Turn to page 83.

I consider Sunderland to have survived comfortably this season. Would that be acceptable? Not really, no. I would think we'd be able to put up a double digit gap between ourselves and the strugglers with more than 5 games remaining. For me they've left it late to pull away.
-
I expect comfortable survival(10-14) and not a to-the-last-game-scrape for survival(15-17). So I don't expect more than survival but a good kind of survival ... if that makes sense.

Thought we lost to scunthorpe away too

Errmm... Nothing wrong with his team selection...the players he picked are just a bit crap. But it's rock bottom of the table peterborough. don't care if it's away and they're fighting for survival, they should be good enough.

Good enough: Harper, Krul. Simpson, Colo, Williamson, Saylor, Enrique. Barton, Jonas, Guthrie, Routledge. Loven, Carroll, Ranger Reserve Level: Shola, Raylor, Hall, Kadar, Nolan, Forster Ultraturd: Pancrate, Best, Butt, Smith

Brom could catch us. Forest can catch us and drop us to the playoffs if and only if they win out and we score fewer than 6 points in our last 7 games. How shit a run would that have to be? Our worst run of 7 games this season was 2W2D3L in sep/oct, starting with the L to blackpool, where we picked up just 8 points from 7 games. At no other point did we dip below 10 points from any 7 consecutive games. Holy hell I'm bored.

Is Mike Ashley steering Newcastle United in the right direction?

Not sure I necessarily agree with that. If promotion this season is in spite of him, are you saying he's made no positive contribution to the promotion campaign or that he has actively attempted to prevent our promotion? -

Mike Ashley is a pretty awesome dude. Quote this if you agree. -
Nah, that's hardly correct. How? For it to be correct you're saying you would unequivocally trust the opinion of someone who watched the team live over someone who watched it on TV, regardless of who those two people actually are. If they were your grandma and Wenger, would it hold? Or an 8 year old and Mancini? Obviously not. So there are more factors involved in "knowing more" than the property of watching it live vs remote. I'm not questioning that it gives you the ability to make better judgments, but it does not bestow the realization of that potential upon you.

It could soooooooo easily be moved on by TRon answering a simple question, but unfortunately it'll blow his argument out of the water. You are such a tit you can't even see your own hypocrisy. How many training sessions have you seen compared to Chris Hughton who has seen far more of these players on or off the field than you yet you feel qualified to pass negative judgement on his management skills. So once again I ask...what's your point? Why are you bringing Hughton into this? How many games have you seen him live in? It can't be that hard to fucking count them man. It's stupid because it's obvious where you're going with it, and it's obvious that it doesn't matter. Seeing someone from halfway across a stadium vs a TV doesn't magically give you any better perspective on something than anyone else. In some respects that's correct, but it gives you a far better indication of their movement & effort and awareness in making the right runs. They are things I think Best is particularly poor at. That's a much shorter list than mine

The point I made earlier about it still stands; even if we needed relegation, it was never Ashley's intent and he cannot be credited with it, nor any positive fallout from it. At best he can be called an unwitting, if not unwilling, orchestrator. In acting in the events leading up to it, he may have been saying/doing the right things in regards to cutting costs and wages and not paying ridiculous sums and whatever - and of course doing the wrong things in hiring/backing wise and lamby etc - but he would never have been about wanting relegation. -
Brilliant. Nowt better than getting one over on yourself. Is that what they're calling it these days?

How would that work? The home team wouldn't be allowed to stream the match. Yeah, that way it encourages fans to go to home games, and because most away fans would go weather or not their is a stream or not it shouldn't have much of an impact on away support. What about foreign fans? The whole purpose of streaming is to reach a larger audience.

Not complaining. They always looked more up for it. Should have pushed harder for a 2nd before they equalized.
