Really provides something for the team to rally around though, doesn't it? An "us against the world" mentality of sorts.

as if there's not enough real material to beat allardyce with

Defenders on ecently promoted sides would be well fucked wouldn't they? Might as well go on the dole It's not the worst of ideas, but the problem lies in the fact that, to some extent, bonus related issues would also be down to bad decisions by refs - cards, incorrectly (or correctly) ruled offside goals, etc. Throw enough clauses in and you've probably got a more complex contract than now. As well, you'd have to institute it league/federation wide, or else talent will flee from the incentive-based clubs and flock to the higher base pay ones.

jesus wept, is basic geography beyond so many? Losing Beye and Faye is going to hurt, but there's far worse temporary replacements we could be looking at than Haim :\

Of course, James is only advocating due diligence and balanced consideration in view of using such technologies, not condemning them. His point about the Dane is true of any system that rewards metrics without 100% observation -- someone can always game it to their benefit.

any reason to belive that will happen...from what you've seen the last 7 month ? A pointless question, which, I note, you aim at anyone who isn't posting pictures of themselves vomitting onto a tiny sam allardyce voodoo doll they've knitted. The last seven months are just that. The last seven months. If you want an idea of why people feel like backing allardyce you have to look at the entire timeframe of his career, what he's accomplished and what he speaks about, his ideas on footballers and the future. I cannot begin to stress the shortsightedness of picking on ANY coaches first seven months with ANY club and trying to use that as a stick with which to beat other fans who support him.

End of the world stuff tbh. This forum reads like the book of revelations sometimes.

Well damn. Can't say I'm surprised to lose to chelsea away, but that was diabolical.

true, however they can go backwards over 6 months Would you be willing to categorically state that our team has been only sliding backwards since june? no not at all....can you categorically say there has been any improvement in 6 months ? Right-back looks sorted. But really I think it's just a matter of when you measure improvement. After arsenal I don't think the outlook would have been as bleak as it is now.

Pfft, what does he know about anything!?!?! The gall, the unbelievable GALL of that man to question my self-righetous indignation!

Why change then? Sam is experienced. He's experienced one club in the prem before coming here, thats not really that much is it? A silly argument -- how many prem clubs have Wenger and Ferguson "experienced" ? Not really, that's all he's done, Fergie won thing with Aberdeen, Wenger also had a career before coming to the league. Not really relevant though because your statement was "in the prem". If you want to talk career outside of prem prior, then Sam has quite the CV too. All academic though. The man won't be sacked any time soon.

Second most ridiculous idea doing the rounds imo, just barely being beaten out by the "Sam is trying to get sacked for a payoff" nonsense. I don't want him here right now myself but Shearer will be here if we sack sam though. I can't see anyone else taking the job.

Or boat. Can't explain why but my overriding emotion here isn't anger but disappointment, almost parental like. Just really, really disappointed in the lad.
