Thread for the ages right here folks

I generally defer opinions to those who went because I agree you get a better perspective, but some of you really need to wind it in. It's farcical to suggest you gain that much more, if any, understanding of a players "off-the-ball" ability by being at the match. Are you trying to tell me you go to games with the expressed intent of NOT looking at the action? Be honest, your attention 99.9999999% of the time is directed at the roughly 25 meter x 25 meter patch of pitch where the action is taking place and the 10 to 15 players involved in it. When the ball gets hoofed out of our half is when you notice Martins not making the right run or being too close to the touchline, not any time before. Funnily enough that's exactly what the TV viewer sees too.

there's not a  in the world big enough. Preemptive condolences to Wolves.

I'm going to start a thread on Luke Moore just so we can get some decent discussion going on about Darren Bent in it.

Adriano on loan, book it.

Dare I even ask? But Newcastle for meself as well.

Wish we were after the Gooch tbh. Would be fantastic back there with Taylor I think. He was shockingly bad in the world cup Fair enough if you think that but I haven't met many who share that opinion. Which, speaking of: Donovan, McBride, Beasley and Dempsey, I felt, all had much worse world cups than Oguchi.

For once, JUST FOR ONCE can one of you (I don't care who) take the fucking moral high road and quit responding to every stupid fucking comment by the other? This is a thread about Gareth Bale, not your internet e-ego.

Counting on drawing games 0-0 is only as unrealistic as counting on winning games 10-9.

We could sign Ronaldinho, Henry and Klose in January and it wouldn't matter for fuck so long as we have to keep playing the likes of Ramage, Edgar and Huntington at the back and mostly out of position. And I don't give two flying fucks if Nobby's done well at RB. He's not getting any younger and Carr isn't getting any slimmer so we need fucking sorted out there quick like as well. Yes, a striker is needed because if Oba goes down we're not looking like scoring. But I would not put all our eggs in one basket with the striker we bring in. Pick up a decent, cheap Championship striker, someone hungry with average finishing, then go right back to cleaning up the mess that is our back 4.

Almost as pathetic as the robert return pleas.

I'm answering this poll based on the keeper they can be, not just recent form. Bearing that in mind, I disagree that Cech is overrated -- It's a few numpties who put him above the likes buffon/casillas but that's not a widely held opinion. He's still a top, top keeper and one of the best in this league. And some say Given saves us points, but hell, Friedel is pretty much the only reason Blackburn stay in the league. Terrific shot stopper, huge in front of goal, pretty good on PKs. Cech Given Friedel

Absolutely not. The idiots are far and few between enough to be dealt with singly, no need for sweeping ban.

form temporary class permanent etc etc. By all accounts he did ok (not great, not shambolic, just .. ok) on the left side of a midfield diamond, which, let's be honest, isn't the best place for him in that formation. But I think it's the only way to accommodate himself, Parker and Butt while keeping two up top.

Ottmar Hitzfeld - £50m then let him spend the other half.

I think the overall positive impact to the team would be greater were we to bring in two class fullbacks than a striker. Improving not only the play we get from that position but the play of zog/duff and dyer/milner/solano in front of them. Bringing in a big name striker to feed off the scraps we're currently providing, while relying on the same shaky defense ... I dunno, I just don't see the benefit there. At least with more solidarity going forward (and defending) I'd be more confident of the midfield chipping in a few more and not actually having to rely on le Sib and Martins as much. edit: and before our defensive record is brought up, let me reiterate: it IS shaky. Given has saved our ass so many points it's unreal. how long do you want to ride that luck?

They are 100% correct. I'd hope they get disqualified due to some dodgy UEFA by-law before kicking the first ball in anger.

Gosh why hasn't anyone seen it like this before? You've utterly and completely shattered the very notion of faith into nothingness. Crushed in the grip of this perfect, flawless logic presented here I don't see how any person of the cloth could even go on. Truly and fantastically brilliant. Post more.

I'm quietly optimistic about a point. 0-1 or 0-2 and I won't be surprised. 0-3 or worse I'll feel a little down about. A win and I'll wait on the alarm clock to wake me because I'd know I'm dreaming.

With the posts you make, you'd think you actually are Albert Luque. It would certainly lend credence to all those claims he's not making an effort to learn the language. That's a f*cking pathetic, ignorant comment. I bet he speaks your native language better than you do his. Who's whooshing who here?
