Looking good boys. Pumped about this news. Vibes are high.

If you want to make a 1-for-1 comparison between that hypothetical and this thread, let's first acknowledge that this thread was created, ON PURPOSE, because the positive/hopeful/crazy stories and takes were becoming something of a hassle in the normal takeover thread. So if a similar situation exists where fantastical transfer/managerial suggestions are made in the normal threads, I'm sure the forum would welcome such a change. The Twitter Bollocks thread still exists though and I think that would be the first port of call before a new thread. IMO this thread has done a fantastic job with keeping its crazy well within the lines. It doesn't spill out to other threads anymore and the thread causes no grief except when provoked; and even then it somehow winds up being this thread which has to justify itself instead of looking the other way around. That's ass-backwards by my view.

The ones where someone wandered into a self-quarantined thread of crazies to deliberately rain on their parade and then acted butthurt when the crazies told them to stop being a wet blanket.
-
Except a lot of the time it's not even positive. It's blatant antagonism that tries to hide behind mealy-mouthed horseshit like "B-b-b-but a forum is for discussion, i get to post anywhere." when it's anything _but_ discussion.

(this is literally me as well, not a dig at the positivists)

Perez's increasingly desperate chirping definitely sounds like a man scrambling for money because he owes the Mafia A few of those clubs are turbofucked.

Hope we had agreed a price already when he came on loan. We'll probably try to haggle it down anyway and end up missing out.

Sure mathematically Fulham could get 10+ points from last 5 while we get 0. Realistically I can see only that second one being an actual possibility though They have, in descending order of teams likely to fight hardest by the time they face them IMO - Chelsea - will want to hold on to 4th and Champions League Burnley - desperate to stave off relegation and will fight hard. Southampton - level with us on points right now but will fight if they've been dragged into the relegation conversation Man United - will be comfortably in 2nd and may be an easy game. Us - if we're safe by then we'll be complacent I don't really picture a world where there aren't an easy 2 losses in that grip of games and drawing one of the other 3.

McManaman does that horrible thing where someone can't keep their own gob shut and "yeah"s over someone in the middle of their sentence. yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah "It was a good tactical move by jurgen klopp to kind of slow down and see out the game." Absolutely drives me insane to encounter people like that in real life. Always end up berating them. Shut the goddamn fuck up and let someone speak.

Oh, pitch meeting references are tight!

Anyone theorizing this is done for some hypothetical American audience please remember this is still the overwhelming national opinion of the sport as explained by our greatest hero
-
I really want to know what he was about to fuck up and spell instead of "Managers" with that big "whoops" of an A

Seems like a slam dunk for brand opposition Coke : "Proud sponsors of the Super League." Pepsi: "We stand with the fans."
-
my man's on that OCK podcast shit. Gets up in the middle of the night to piss, stubs his toe, and mutters "Damn Americans!" under his breath
-
There has to be some expectation of literally global brand toxicity given the backlash so far. Wouldn't sponsor them for shit if I was a fortune 500.
-
i think there are teams that don't necessarily want the super league to go through but definitely want to be on that lifeboat if it's happening
-
Famous American Owned Clubs Chelsea, Tottenham and Man City? Also it's not like we invented the idea; breakaway super leagues have been floated before, we're just the only ones competent enough to make it work.

I promise you they're not thinking about us. We get 'soccer' demoted to ESPN3 while World Youth Aardvark Ping Pong finals get top billing on regular ESPN. The average american would rather watch Loki's Kitchen of Tuna Horrors than football.
