It's October 5th and we've bought no one. I go to answer a knock at the door. I open it and there's Mike Ashley already halfway through executing an impossibly deft spinning heel kick. The sole of his new balance trainer is the last thing I see.

Loads mate. Tyler has been pinching Richard Masters tea bags and Michael Chopra has been scrapping through bins for cans. Been non stop. Oh yeah, and some whopper signed up this morning to tell us all to not bother anymore. Be interesting if the PL start planting a few moles on Twitter and message boards to split the fans.

Did our manager want them? Not a fan of owners buying without input from those doing the coaching, no matter how i may hate the current owner or manager. edit: ignoring for a minute it's likely all bullshit if it's in the mirror.

Interesting. Thanks for the info. I can't imagine he'd risk the Saudi deal without some sort of insurance. My guess would be that Qatar have given Mauriss the money to cover the deposit. Everybody on here seems assured Maauriss would fail the O+D test, so you'd imagine the guys with the supposed millions to bak him would be just as clued up. There is every chance Ashley is aware of this, through his connection to the hairy hand. Ashley's new business model is bilking millions in fees from prospective buyers before letting the deals die on the vine.

What incentive would a second buyer now have for beating the price of the old one now that the PIF have fucked off? I guess if Mauriss is bidding with fake money he doesn't have and can't actually transfer he might as well bid £600m. If, of course, Ashley really did stall it out until deals expired to get a better price.

Crazy idea time.... Perhaps it's time to start asking the question whether the Premier League has outlived its purpose - that perhaps PIF should push on without the approval of the Premier League and approach the EFL about re-establishing itself as the operator of the top-tier of English football. If the majority of PL clubs agreed then any dissenters would likely quickly come on board (as it's hard to sustain a league with only 5 clubs). The nice men in white suits with butterfly nets will be by shortly.

This season was knowing you were about to have diarrhea and although it turned out to not be the violent kind at the end of the day it was still shit
