How’s the Championship mate?
-
Tenuous link ffs. Hope we go on a winning run mostly so I don’t have to read your posts.
-
Amazing performance, exciting season coming up for him.
-
I’ve been critical of him in the past but can’t see why he should get so much stick today. He had couple of really good efforts and couple of poor ones but he wasn’t the problem today. Way more disappointed with Barnes’ cameo, made TAA’s life easy and fucked up badly on the only good run he made when Wilson was in a great position.
-
We were too passive with the man advantage but he got extremely unlucky to lose that. Despite the passiveness we should’ve been up by 2 at some point. Absolutely embarrassing reading some of these comments, get in the fucking sea!
-
That’s a fucking joke of an opinion. He got it wrong today in the second half but calm the fuck down with shite like that.
-
Pep fucking hates Foden, incredible.

Also wouldn’t mind an automatic review by the onfield referee on every penalty and red card. Would get rid of penalties like the Rashford one where there’s a small contact but not enough for a penalty but the contact means VAR never turns the call. VAR wouldn’t give a penalty for it so it’s just stupid that they respect the original call so much that they still don’t overturn it. The hassle after such big calls always takes time anyway so it wouldn’t even slow down the game at all.
-
I still think VAR could be a good thing but the current system in place is just stupid and illogical. VAR should be a tool to help the onfield referee, not another referee giving his opinions and muddying the waters trying to guess what the onfield referee might have seen or thought. There shouldn’t be any respect to the original call and onfield referee has to admit if he’s not sure about a decision and head to the video screen where HE makes the decision based on what he’s seeing on the screen. Get rid of the clear and obvious bullshit, it’s just another unnecessary extra layer on decisions when everyone is arguing what it really means.

Haven't watched the episode yet but it's terrible. Serie A's weekly goal program never shows the goal from the main camera and instead changes the view from shite camera to another shite camera 3-5 times per attack. Impossible that anyone would prefer that to just the main camera.

Keeper got a touch on the ball but took Rodrygo down on an empty goal. No idea what the rule is.

Ah ffs, so Kinder eggs are more hazardous than guns.

Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)
Pata replied to Marko NUFC's topic in Football
Nah, the first rounds would be way more boring than they are now even if the later rounds would be somewhat similar. I wouldn't be seeing matches like Bayern-Atletico or Real Madrid-Dortmund which are usually fun. Instead it would be Bayern-Häcken or Real Madrid-Dinamo Zagreb that no one would care about until eventually the big clubs meet in the semis. And in the current system big teams can meet in the earlier rounds which can give us match-ups like Derby della Madonnina in the semis -
The "delighted Ashley has gone, but uncomfortable with Saudi ownership" thread
Pata replied to UncleBingo's topic in Football
That's not really the point. It's just a counter to the argument that Newcastle fans should do something but the 'leaders of the free world' in USA and UK are both absolutely fine with having Saudi-Arabia as their allies and are happy to sell them weapons. I'm not comfortable that we are owned by them but fuck anyone who says it's the duty of NUFC fans to fix the human rights issues in Saudi-Arabia or save the Yemeni children. I just want to watch football. -
I seriously doubt gambling industry is fucked. I’m against all kinds of bans (unless self-inflicted) but there’s absolutely zero need for any widespread and visible advertisement. People should be able to watch sports without being bombarded with betting ads.

Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)
Pata replied to Marko NUFC's topic in Football
Only champions in the Champions League would be extremely boring. Watching Bayern, PSG, Man City, Real/Barca and some Italian team thats usually Juve in the semis every year would get tiring fast. -
I added Saudi league to my leagues in Flashscore.

Shinawatra started to splash the cash a year before Abu Dhabi bought them iirc.

I'm not sure what the best solution is and it certainly doesn't help that so many (me included) approach the subject so selfishly.
-
Entirely possible but limiting the number of your fans that are even allowed to try and buy a ticket while talking about massively growing the club's revenue streams seems a bit contradicting. I assume that the size of the fanbase is one criteria on the 'fair value' calculations on sponsorship deals after all. Just using myself as an example but I didn't know they were capping the memberships last season. I don't think that should be a reason to deny me a chance to get a ticket in the following seasons.

Barely touched him on the second.

Nketiah loves a dive.

You have to give a yellow every time someone asks for it or it's a fucking bullshit rule.
