I can't name many players in the team that is does suit. Only thing I can think of is the abundance of talent we have in central midfield.
-
Villa didn't say no, you clown. He was sat waiting to sign until Boro told us to fuck off for Viduka. I like how we "don't look anywhere near" beating any of the top 5. Must have imagined the double over Spurs, the win over Liverpool and the various other points taken off the top 5 last season - with a shit team.
-
4-3-3 doesn't suit him - it doesn't suit any of our strikers for that matter.
-
I'd be surprised if we're ever beaten again tbh.

It's amazing that Milner's never been tried out for anyone in central midfield really. Since his lack of pace is his major flaw, you'd think someone would have stuck him in there. Not in a central pairing, but as one of a central trio, why not?

Milner has missed for us before, maybe Watford last season? Not that that rules him out or anything like. Emre's was tidy against Pompey last season, I'd happily see him taking them when he's on.

I agree too, but at the moment he is hamstrung, pardon the expression by the loss of Barton and Emre. He realises this and changed it around in the last two games. Personally as mentioned, I'd rather see us playing 4-4-2, at home anyway, it will be interesting to see what happens when Enrique, Barton and Emre are all ready. I think 4-3-3 means we don't get the best from our best players (our strikers and our wingers) and means we can't fit as many in as we should have. I think the return to form of Owen may force the 4-4-2, which for me is a good thing.

You clearly haven't the first clue how a 433 works... Shades of Arteta plays in the middle? :giggle: Don't fucking patronise me Enid Blyton. The three in the middle are central players. Or is Frank Lampard a winger now? The center left sided midfielder in a 433 interchanges with the left forward (who cycles like a Diouf) pretty much ( although diff variation) as Zoggy did with Milner yesterday. If you are suggesting we play Zoggy as a winger then it isn't 433 then is it? If on the other hand you want him on the left of a forward 3 that is a different debate to do with forwards and not midfielders. Try not to be so disparaging in future and I will give you the same respect. Which is it? He can play on the 'wing' as one of the front 3, he's not cut out for central midfield, not to mention that he neutralizes what he's best at which is beating his full back with pace. There's a reason Mourinho never used/uses Duff, SWP, Robben in one of the central 3 whether they "interchange" or not - why have I never seen Frank Lampard or Michael Ballack charging down the wing towards the full back btw? Maybe Jose doesn't have the first clue how a 4-3-3 works eh?

Play N'Zogbia in a position he's very poor in and which neutralizes his game? Good thinking Batman.
-
Who else do you suggest he plays until Barton and Emre are back?
-
Apart from Aston Villa you mean?
-
Why the fuck would you want sunderland anywhere near? I'm happy with us dominating and them rotting somewhere in the depths of the football league. Unfortunately neither is likely to happen.
-
Not a competition anymore. Rubbish.
-
I'd given up hope of scoring but I should have known better with players of Owen and Martins' calibre on the field. Smashing.
-
Par for the course. Well there's always next year.

Sunderland and who else??? Spurs, Man Utd, Boro. he wouldnt get a sniff at Man U.(wait for Cockney simpleton comment in reply) Oh I know that, I just mean that I'd find it harder to watch him for them than for West Ham.

I think we've got creativity in the squad. Milner, N'Zogbia, Viduka, Martins, Emre, Barton and even Geremi could all be said to be creative - not to mention that having two decent full backs will help us immensely rather than having two who are woeful on the ball which is what we've seen so often in the recent past. We've also got five strikers who will all put away chances when given them most of the time. To be honest, if it's true that we received a Smoggie bid for Shola this morning, it could be said that we made a mistake not taking it and then looking to see if we could bring a creative player in quickly, but we didn't and that's ok. We've got arguably our best and most creative midfielder to come back and if we had signed someone, we might have had a problem with too many in CM. Parky's right though, Emre does need to step up and I'm hopeful that he will because I like him a lot.

I hate West Ham but I can think of loads of clubs worse to go to in the Premiership.

I hope Luque is still here anyway.

Not since about 2004 Really? Blimey. That shows how much attention I pay. Does he play on the wing then? Which one?

Does Arteta not play in central midfield?
