They're better than you lot. Stop crying. showed more fight than we did tbf Correct. We'd have beaten them if we'd played at home second imo, that's the reason Boro got to the final and the reason Spurs managed to challenge Sevilla at all. We had the run of Alkmaar at home and took our foot off the gas cos some dozy cunts thought 'job done'.

Wouldn't have been a video replay decision anyway. You'd have to stop the game for everything in that case. no, only for penalties and red cards What, not for the ball crossing/not crossing the line? You can't stop the game and go to a fourth official everytime someone goes down in the box or appeals for holding on a corner. I'm for video replays for incidents where it's not clear if the ball is in or not, but anything else would be impractical. not penalty appeals but penalty decisions. and of course crossing the line What's the difference between them? If someone appeals for a handball or a shirt tug unseen by the ref, does he have to go to his video man? Penalties are often subjective anyway, one person's penalty is another person's dive. It needs to be a concrete decision for any video evidence to be brought in.

  5. You might as well ask me whether I'd prefer Newcastle or sunderland to win the league. Milan all the way.

Get the fuck in there! I love Sevilla, Boro and Spurs dumped out in successive seasons with both in serious danger of winning it - brilliant. I hear Jenas got his head stamped on - that's fucking disgusting tbh - should have been me doing it. Still reckon we'd have beaten Alkmaar if we'd been home second.

    Eriksson For Toon

So how do you explain the fact that he took Benfica & Gothenburg to European Finals? Benfica was 17 years ago man, Gothenburg was 25 years ago! Howard Wilkinson won the English League more recently than those. Wouldn't touch him personally.
  8. You aren't reading the posts then. Let me give you a clue....Martins. We needed a striker before a LB. Not signing either is not a result of signing Duff and does not make Duff a bad signing. Obvious really, although it seems it's not that easy for some people to grasp. And we needed a central defender and a left back before we needed a left winger. Thats very clear. Is it that clear though. The only other player who can play LW is the Zog. So surely, we did need a LW. Milner has also played there with success, Dyer can play there if we were very short, as can Emre. Even if they didn't, N'Zogbia is one player who can play there to a suitable level. That's one more than left back and arguably one more than centre back - and there's two positions to fill there.
  9. Barca, for no real reason other than being bought a Barca shirt by my grandparents on holiday when I was a kid and continuing to buy them since and, pending tomorrow's result, Sevilla. Oh, and Milan for the rest of the season.
  10. As long as it ends up with a European Cup on its way to Milan, I don't give a shit.
  11. Ferguson is the best, it's not even in question anymore. To have picked this Man Utd side up to the level they are now when their time looked to be over a couple of years ago is fantastic. I'm still a Milan/Munich man for the rest of the tournament though. What I find annoying though is the Premiership, over the past three years, has proved itself to be by far and away the strongest league in Europe, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Boro all reaching finals and at least one this year, possibly both, in the CL final and Spurs still in the UEFA (I'm praying for a Sevilla win on Thursday)... yet I watch the Premiership every fucking week and it rarely comes close to being bloody entertainment! We've already played the big 4 this season at SJP (Chelsea in the CC) and although the Man Utd game was canny, the other three were fucking rubbish.
  12. Not often I agree with Vic, but here's one such occasion. I hate him for what he's done, but if the England manager were up to the standard of Alex Ferguson, we wouldn't be having this discussion. He is the very, very best.
  13. I'd love for Oliver to be a journalist for Arsenal, it would have been most entertaining over the years to see him slagging the fuck out of their foreigners and blacks as they ran away with league titles.
  14. Absolutely fucking not. 27 people have voted 'yes'? Jesus.
  15. I've seen better, I've seen worse. A real end-of-season game.
  16. The PLC report is not a reputable source?
  17. 8's False. Home to Southampton 2003-04, lovely through ball from Jenas, Shearer slammed it in from the edge of the area.
  18. Hear hear, Mr Shak. I can remember having this conversation with you when Duff arrived too.
  19. He's 21! He's not an experienced Premiership player and international like Duff purports to be. How can he get his place back when he's not allowed near the bench, especially since he's played most of this season out of position? What left wing and the odd game in central midfield, where he claims is his best place? I'm not excusing Duff, don't get me wrong, just don't think CNZ is as good as some people make him out really. He can claim what he likes, left wing is his best position, even if he prefers the centre. It's not up to him to decide, it's up to the manager and the coaches to get the best out of him in his best position - an idea that's fucking hilarious at NUFC. That's why he'll be away, because he's French and maybe moody and probably doesn't laugh at Parasite MacDermott's jokes. How good is he then? He was superb last season, and this year he's started 9 Premiership games - 9, at least half of them in the centre I would bet. Apparently that's enough to dump a 21 year old in favour of a has-been. That's why we're Newcastle United and that's why we win fuck all.

 Really want Leeds to come up, they're a real football club, unlike the above and Bolton.

  22. Duff has been one of out best players in our last 2 games so for me obviously Zog is 2nd choice. As for him going I doubt it as Roeder won't let him go as he knows it will give him another position to fill. That's enough is it? That he can have two good games and be first choice? Dear me - especially if one of those games was Man City, where Duff was a f****** disgrace. Dunno what game you were watching Wullie. Thought Duff was the best of a bad bunch that day like. I thought they were all pretty abysmal. That they were doesn't excuse Duff of being the same waste of space he's been all season.
