  1. West Ham only have 14 from 16, that table is counting the Bolton game that's just kicked off as remaining a draw.
  2. Wins loads in the air, I've never seen a player who can jump as high.
  3. Bob Moncur on Century never shut up about how bad he was. He does exactly the same every week, it's ridiculous.
  4. Excellent result. Made it hard work, and the injuries are potentially a disaster but delighted with the points.
  5. Reina won keeper of the year though? As voted for by who exactly?
  6. Eh? Apparently it means he can make "hollywood" saves, or as I prefer to call it numerous world class blocks which most keepers wouldn't get near. Oh, how I wish we had a super modern "sweeper-keeper" like Liverpool's who can clear the ball by punching so effectively: http://cache.gettyimages.com/xc/71830790.jpg?v=1&c=MS_GINS&k=2&d=17A4AD9FDB9CF19390335F8FA9CA92A6557BF42AEDFBEB34A55A1E4F32AD3138 WHOOPS! I hear he dropped it deliberately cos he's not a keeper who makes saves, too "Hollywood".
  7. It's shocking how Acuna always gets named alongside Gavilan, Bassedas and Cordone, whenever some lazy journalist is doing a list of NUFC flops. My mate (Boro fan) always does it too, refuses to believe me when I tell him that Acuna was a cracking little player.
  8. I've never seen Reina put in a performance like Given did at the Emirates this season, for example, and that's not even a rarity, it'll happen ten times a season, where we get absolutely shat on and come away with a point thanks to Shay, particularly away from home. He's not perfect (his distribution is shite for a start) but he very rarely makes a mistake and I personally don't believe there's a better shot stopper in the Premiership. People cite Van der Sar as one of the top men (in this thread for example), but they would never have said that when he played for Fulham. I remember him making a total hash of a kick at SJP, straight to Solano, who then chipped him from 25 yards. I wouldn't pick any keeper in the Premiership over Given. Some people say "in Europe" but I've not seen every keeper in Europe, so I can't comment. I've seen the Premiership goalkeepers, and when Petr Cech has to save as many shots to haul his side out of utter shite as many times as Wor Seamus (without making complete cock-ups like he has done a couple of times), then he can say he's the best. Until then, I'll stick with Given, thanks very much.
  9. Dunno what age group this was tonight, but I remember my Grandad taking me to SJP to watch England Schoolboys vs Scotland and telling me before the game to watch out for this kid up front who was supposed to be shit hot, who then scored a fantastic goal at the Leazes End where we were sitting. Michael Owen his name was, I've never heard of him for ages.
  10. Black and white looks better than any other kit or colours. That's not even up for debate btw.
  11. Fucking hell. I can sort of accept maybe thinking he might be better than Given not that I'd agree, I can meet half-way though, but streets ahead? Talk about head up your arse. I nearly wet myself that day in the Union Rooms when we were watching the derby and he patted a tame shot straight to Johnson two yards out who headed it past him. "Streets ahead"
  12. Nut said this the other day. He LOST THE BALL, Emre himself won the ball back from a different player, ran 50 yards and lashed it past the keeper from 20. He hardly put it on a plate ffs. And for the record, the reason he gets stick is not because he's black, but because he is consistently shite. I didn't boo, but I was nearly frothing at the mouth from screaming at the little fucker at one point, which is the same state I usually end up in whenever the pale white figure of Stephen Carr pulls on a black and white shirt.

    Babayaro

Pretty ridiculous for .com to say: then suggesting people booing Babayaro did it because he's black.
  14. Do all Primera Liga clubs have teams playing in the lower leagues in Spain or is it just the big guns? I don't watch our reserves but from the ones that break into the first team and the ones that go elsewhere, I'd doubt that they could survive the Championship or even League 1.
  15. Lots of buyouts seem to be going on, but I doubt if any of them will go anywhere near what Chelsea have done and how much money Roman has.
  16. Carr being injured has been a massive plus, we've had so much more down that right hand side. He's the new Jenas for me. I fucking hate him.
  17. I'm a Parker fan but he should have to earn his place back, because at the moment, Emre and Butt are doing well and should keep their places. I also like Milner, but Dyer should be taking the right wing spot when he's ready to play imo, and Milner moved to the bench. N'Zogbia's had a couple of poor games, but he was excellent against Portsmouth (which seems to have been forgotten) and I'd still pick him every day over Duff, who looks a fallen player as far as I'm concerned.
  18. "A player who didn't understand" It was Steven Taylor from a drop ball, who pelted it out for a throw in deep in Reading territory which we then pressurised instead of playing it back to Hahneman.
  19. I'm always pretty confident when Shola steps up personally. Think he missed one in a friendly a couple of years back, but he's been pretty clinical when it's mattered. Couldn't believe it when Martins was shaping to hit it on his right foot, fair play though, he tucked it away.
  20. Fuck knows what Citeh were doing with Sibierski. With these last two games he's had in the league, it's become apparent that he's not just a big lunk who can work hard, win headers and score the odd cup goal, he's actually a good player. Dunno if it was because they were playing him in midfield or what, but he's got nearly as many for us now as he ever scored for them. His link up play with Martins is excellent as was his composure for the goal that wasn't.

    Babayaro

To be fair to Roeder he's not exactly gonna to say Babayaro is shit. Probably said that to try and lift the lads confidence, obviously didn't work like. No, there's a difference between building a player's confidence and spouting utter, utter shit. That's twice he's done it now - once about Carr, who then cost us the Bolton game later that day, and now Babayaro who proceeds to put in that performance. Best thing for Glenn to do is shut his fucking mouth. Talk up the players who deserve it, not the ones who everyone knows have been utter shite, because that just makes him look like a moron.
