  1. David Conn's reasoning on Football Weekly for Man City being given such a severe penalty is really useful, basically saying that if an FFP breach is like a speeding offence, for which you get a fine and a few points, City have been found guilty of saying their wife was driving which is much more serious and carries prison time.
  2. I've hated for years how all the interesting discussion points on this forum end up in one of the two "not worthy of a thread" threads so this is definitely worthy of its own. There's a couple of really good Miguel Delaney pieces on similar themes from last week: https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/champions-league-superclubs-liverpool-man-utd-barcelona-real-madrid-a9330431.html https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/champions-league-super-clubs-liverpool-man-utd-barcelona-real-madrid-a9334826.html
  3. Wasn't our investment all loans, rather than outside investment? John Hall didn't put his hand in his own pocket for players as far as I know.
  4. Hull game's been absolutely class.
  5. Peter Walton proper wanks himself off in that little box when VAR chalks off a perfectly good goal.
  6. It's a really good piece.
  7. Boaz Myhill. EDIT: it's here after 1 minute, don't remember it being as funny as that.
  8. A lot of areas are being told not to travel unless absolutely necessary so it's probably the right thing to do not to ask people to get themselves to a football match.
  9. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51419080 It never ceases to amaze me how easily people believe shit they read on the internet.
  10. He'd have been perfect in midfield with our 5 at the back formation with Rafa Never has a foreign player, a Spanish one to boot, adapted to the pace and demands of the Premier League as quickly and effortlessly as this guy. What, Mikel Merino? Not sure about that like.
  11. Loved Isak for betting when he was in Holland.
  12. A magistrate at least, and if it were true the Chronicle would have had a "5 things we learned in court about Mike Pendridge's penis" article up within minutes.
  13. Not sure it's even true tbh, can't find a source beyond a series of generic football Twitter accounts like that one.
  14. That goal was absolutely identical to Quagliarella's last night.
  15. "See what they're doing with FA Cup"
  16. The bloke is barely literate.
  17. Why do the media make more of the Saudis humanitarian record when they're buying us but all the clubs that are owned by the Russians or the Chinese get hardly any bother at all? They're worse than the Saudi in the humanitarian world rankings... not by much, but certainly worse none-the-less. Can you list "all the clubs" that are owned by the Chinese and Russian governments?
  18. Indeed. It's why I look forward to the international tournaments more than anything in the calendar now, there remains a purity to them that, even taking into account the gross way FIFA go about staging them, once they begin those events are ultimately about the sporting glory most of all.
