  1. Brentford have signed Lazio's first choice keeper, seems a strange one, can't see him or Raya being happy with sitting on the bench.
  2. On the plus side, I think the rule increases the chance of higher team card numbers as teams can withdraw a player on a booking much more easily and put a clean player on to take one. I'll still be doing small Lucky 15s to try and hit the jackpot but doubles and trebles is much less tempting. The trick will be to try and identify players who don't tend to get taken off, centre halves are good for that. I find the first two months of a season are the time to find big player odds (MLS was absolutely amazing and is now pretty awful), like a right sad fucker I can't wait for the first set of games in the big leagues to get priced up.
  3. Yeah @geordie_b, on 365 anything with a result in (eg BTTS/win or Player X to score and Team A to win, anything at all), always use the bet builder. I still see so many slips knocking around betting Twitter which would have won but they put the normal market on. Won this one in MLS at the weekend, Salt Lake blew a 2 goal lead, even says loss in my history but still paid out.
  4. I think that's more about evening games in general than anything specific to NUFC, if you think about the cliche of European games at Anfield for example, I don't think that would ever have been a thing if they were getting played on a Saturday afternoon, it's the night aspect rather than the European one that's the crucial factor. There's been a tendency in the last 20 years due to policing concerns about alcohol to play derby fixtures in an early afternoon slot but there was an Old Firm game last season after a Covid suspension that they had to play on a Wednesday night (first in ten years to be played in the evening) and I could almost feel my telly shaking, it was absolutely fucking bouncing. I'd really like to see clubs and the authorities try and do this more instead of playing it safe and trying to make big fixtures more sterile. When looking at English football, I think there should be a lot of regret around when looking at what Wor Flags have done for the atmosphere at SJP (and we've seen that somewhat replicated at other clubs already, thinking of Everton during their run-in). This kind of atmosphere should have been the case for years.
  5. Just as a price play, 3 cards each in Falkirk vs Hibs (Scottish League Cup) tonight at 28/1. The ref Clancy is one of the few UK refs who occasionally breaks into double figures.
  6. Absolutely loves a yellow card.
  7. This is a weird story alright:
  8. What the hell are you watching that on? I'm watching NYRB vs Toronto but yours is like a US League One game.
  9. Basically all the Portuguese players are really well priced. Not often you'll see Pepe at 15/4. 3 of the starters were in the top 10 most booked PL players last season - Xhaka/Neves/Fernandes 75/1
  10. Aye I know, pissed off, avoided it because of the ref.
  11. Think the 14/1 on offer for a FH card each and 3 cards each in the Switzerland-Portugal game tonight is a great price. - Ref averages 5.18 per game over his last 44 games - His last 8 fixtures: 6, 7, 7, 8, 7, 7, 5, 7 - Reverse fixture last week finished 3-1 to the Swiss on cards but that was a game that Portugal were winning 3-0 at HT, tonight should be a closer game in Switzerland - Portugal have picked up 4 cards in both their other recent NL games, and Swiss got 4 against Spain the other day, both teams full of players who pick up regular bookings
  12. Goals per game in the current PL is higher than it was in the 90s.

    England

This is the kind of thing that's used to have a go at Southgate that I find so disingenuous. Italy won all 3 group games comfortably then knocked out Belgium and Spain. On this forum and elsewhere people were absolutely buzzing about them and saying they looked like clear favourites right from the off. They were fully deserving finalists, using something that then happened to them a year later (after their best attacking player, Chiesa, got injured) is just massaging the facts to suit a dislike of the manager. All half decent international teams do this, literally every single one of them. Didier Deschamps has been manager of France for 10 years, he's won a World Cup and lost a Euro final, they are absolutely dull as fuck. Portugal were absolutely unwatchable in winning Euro 2016. That's international football.
  14. Just 1 for Kane needed, should have had it already when he blazed over. Much needed as I've had shit all off these internationals.
  15. I've got Kane and Havertz 2 each at 12s.
  16. I remember the Swansea keeper doing it when they got promoted, Dutch guy, De Vrees or something? Went to somewhere else that he thought was a step up and hardly played a game for the rest of his career, Swansea bought Vorm to replace him.
  17. It was James getting booked for dissent over the first card so possibly.

    England

Mancini ain't even qualified for the fucking thing. Feel like I live on a different planet when I read about how England should, as well as winning everything obviously, be playing some sort of scintillating attacking football. Have any of you people ever watched an international tournament? Every decent international team is also dull as fuck, enjoying internationals has always been for the purist.
  19. This was not a good call.
  20. I've just had Dykes and Yaremchuk 2 SOT each at 10/1. Not expecting many cards even though it's a big game.
  21. Bit annoying finding out there's a way we could have got rid of him quicker.
  22. The crowd trouble in France this season has been off the charts.
  23. 9/1 with 365 for the play off. Moss reffing.
  24. The final of the last Euros at Wembley was famously well managed.
