I'd say that goes for the majority of the recent first XI tbh. The loss of even one or two absolutely cripples him. Agree about Cabaye though, life without Debuchy didn't look too clever either.

He doesn't necessarily have to rest players to not be taking the competition seriously. I've got no doubt whatsoever that he'll have been drumming it into the players all week that the game isn't that important, just make sure you don't get injured etc. He's been doing it in the press so God knows what he's said in private. It's not coincidence that the four FA Cup defeats under him have been embarrassing in terms of effort and tempo - we want to win but only if we can do so at walking pace and as a non-contract sport - in other words, we don't want to win. I'd say the same goes for his League Cup efforts too tbh. Another thing is that I find the phoney injuries he cooks up (Coloccini and Cisse last year, Cabaye and Krul this time) absolutely insulting.

I doubt any club in the top flight has anywhere near as poor a record in cups as us over recent years. This big chunk doesn't exist. Paul Lambert's certainly said he's not interested and other managers have said he's talking rubbish. Apart from our glorious leader of course.

At least our full backs put in some cracking ones for us.

Never thought I'd find myself at a game thinking "God I wish Williamson was playing"

"Science" is hilarious but tempered by him blaming a low crowd in a competition that the club have admitted they want no part of, and in which his record is embarrassing both home and away. The man is absolute vermin and a cancer inside our club.

Is Darren Fletcher presenting? He'll say Pardew's doing a fucking mint job.
-
Sissoko made a bit of a mess of being sent through on goal and let the defender stop him getting a shot away, ball bounced loose and Cisse was following up to slam in.

Gaël Bigirimana rejoins Coventry on a permanent basis

If we loan him out, he'll probably end up playing at a lower level than where we got him given our recent history with this sort of thing. -
Was disappointed not to see Bigi given a chance. But he went with experience but tactics were clearly not spot on as we couldn't control the match for long periods. Anita and Tiote were being overrun, Ben Arfa was dropping too deep when we had possession and Sissoko and Gouffran weren't stretching them enough. We got the goal then we should have killed the game off but it was just the same and both teams couldn't get control which was poor. I want to see replay but looked like Eliot had a shocker to beat from there and then we got done off a corner which you could see was coming and they are a massive threat from them. Overall was shocking by Pardew and some horrendous individual performances. Just another flat FA cup performance which we've seen all too often down the years and it's horrible. Fair enough. On Bigi I'm not much of a fan personally I don't see anything in him which leads me to believe he's got anything other than average. Gouff and Moussa have looked tired for a couple of games now which is partly down to the amount of work Pardew asks them to do imo. Gouffran and Sissoko are probably the two players most in need of a rest yet both played today. They've become his go-to guys in the same way that Jonas was, and for the same reason - that they are both willing and able to play in various positions when the formation is being chopped and changed for game to game, half to half, and will both work hard into the bargain. They've both played nearly everywhere in the front 5/6. Instead of making two changes, he'll make one and tell one of them to do a different job instead. Disco's absolutely spot on with his point about Pardew being unable to rotate, he's unbelievably poor at it and it's a very clear sign that he doesn't belong at the top level.

Hopefully we'll finish 8th then.

Long shots and set pieces are part of football? Who knew? Cardiff, inexplicably didn't have their full backs (who can't cross) taking the corners - crazy cunts.
-
Can you defend his record in the FA Cup? That's what I'm pissed off about right now, nothing to do with the league. No, that's a major black mark against his name however I don't know how much those above him are influencing things. I'm sure he wants trophies if only for Brand Pardew because managers aren't judged on eighth place finishes, they're judged on trophies won. I doubt Mike Ashley was phoning down to the bench telling him to send on Obertan.
-
Certainly wasn't a fluke that he hoyed the lead in the final away twice.
-
Who was worse than Obertan? He is a senseless player. His runs actually impede our other attackers, he doesn't make a challenge (i.e. on their first goal) - he has nothing going for him. Cisse might have been poor but at least he scored his one chance. Yet Marveaux has been dumped 100% on the scrap heap and many people are apparently comfortable with that.
-
Did he think it was next week?

I remember a couple of FA Cup defeats for SBR that were met with real fury from the support, particularly that defeat away at Wolves, who were top of Division 1 iirc. An incredible turnaround in attitudes from the support in the ten years since.
-
This cunt spends more time wanting Newcastle to lose than some mackems do. He'll be delighted tonight, out of the cup and no replay. What a fan's dreams are made of.
-
It was the usual complete shutdown of all attacking intent at 1-0. Even sent Obertan on for a laugh. Complete dickhead.
-
Fucking spineless cowardly little shitbag. If you don't want to win anything, come and work in my fucking office. Absolutely detestable wanker.
-
Shooting towards Leazes first half, and a bloody rotten one it's been too. Ben Arfa from distance looks very much the only thing we've got to offer. Midfield use of the ball absolutely awful without Cabaye.
-
Makes Paul Gascoigne look like Clarke Carlisle. Utterly thick as mince.
-
The Aaron Hughes incident was arguably worse. Hope the fucking horrible bastard gets hit by a bus on Barrack Road tomorrow.

Taylor's never performed consistently to the level that Williamson has over the last 3 months (and whilst fitness has played a part, Taylor's certainly played for much longer periods). Make your own mind up about what that says about either of them, personally Taylor is very much 4th pick at the moment.
