  1. "We lacked players in 1 or 2 positions (most would have agreed with this before KK left.....including you when were both defending the transfers). Rebuilding the squad is clearly gonna take more than one transfer window unless you leave in fantasy football world. We'be been unlucky with injuries to Jonas, Martins and Enrique and Guthrie's stupidity but I suppose you're gonna blame that all on Ashley for not having the foresight to predict the injuries and suspension.....you're getting ridiculous man." The squad didn't need rebuilding. We needed 3 or 4 top class players and some squad players. Now the squad players are essential first teamers and the top class players (like Coloccini) have been hamstrung by keeping clowns like Taylor in the first team while selling off players like Faye. We are weak as piss and the people who were telling us that the manager doesn't matter and all that mattered was the transfer policy are going to get a hell of a shock.
  2. "Yeah don't you know if it was KK in full control, we would have a squad worthy of the Champions League right down to every player" No we just wouldn't be getting beat off Hull City at home or making West Ham look like Arsenal. Stick with your straw man though if it makes you think that Little Den has put a good squad together.
  3. Between 9th and 15th Dave? I think we'll go down, hand on heart.
  4. Aye it's definitely Keegan's fault like. He would be the one getting the blame for a performance like this, just like Hughton is. Neither of them put this squad together. Four of the starting eleven are definitely good enough to play in the Premiership, one of them's out of position and one other player is a maybe. All hail the system.
  5. No good blaming hughton. He didn't compile this squad.
  6. I like george reynolds, no man has given the people of hartlepool so many laughs in such a short space of time. When he unveiled tino only for him to fuck off back to colombia, i nearly laughed up my spleen. The darlo fans at school weren't as impressed.
  7. He's added it onto the asking price.
  8. There's another article about it somewhere, I think from OwlsTalk itself. NSG started a thread on it.
  9. Nah, that was Coventry. Someone on their Rivals site, "Gary Mabbutt's knee" referred to the 'rogues' running the club, who promptly took the dictionary definition of 'rogue' to their lawyers.
  10. I don't know if it's been mentioned, not getting on very much at the moment but Dave Whelan has told the BBC the following about Steve Bruce: "I think the whole country realises he is one of the best four managers in the world."

    Alan Smith

Just needs a run of games in his own position iyam.
  12. There's nothing about being last man in the rules.
  13. Yeah you're basically paying through the nose for being able to be in a bar with a carpet instead of one on a concourse. Save your money.
  14. Ashley Young. Definitely my favourite non-Newcastle player. He's got absolutely everything you want from a wide player. God I hope we can get some semblance of form together before we play these cunts in the cup. For Christ's sake Oba, hurry back.
  15. Very sad news. Are joey barton's movements accounted for btw?
  16. What puzzles me is how the "mongs" at True Faith, The Mag and nufc.com have managed to put out writing of such a high standard for such a long time.
  17. You're spot on there, TKON. It was definitely said last summer that "Newcastle United doesn't owe a penny to anyone", which is another lie. He's hardly spoken to the supporters and when he has, he's been incredibly dishonest. Looks like he's tried to keep people happy but the current situation is what happens when your lies catch up with you. I'd rather just know we're in the shit than have my hopes built up like he has over the past 12 months before pulling the rug from under my feet.
  18. £40m a season? How long was this going to take to come to fruition then, seeing as we're currently up on the deal from three transfer windows? Are we writing off entire seasons until he gets his initial investment back or what? Sorry, not at £500 a pop.
  19. This £20m bollocks is rubbish as well. We get about £35m Sky money, probably the same again in gate receipts over a season, the club is still one of the most profitable in Europe. He should be able to spend more than £20m without ever putting his hand in his own pocket (which I appreciate he already has done, but he'll want it back).
  20. Parky-esque quoting because I'm on my phone: OpenC - It's a shame. The bloke obviously had a plan, and a sound one IMO, which was ruined by Keegan wanting to buy Frank Lampard. Gross oversimplification, I know, but our fans clearly won't be happy until we have a rich sugar daddy who's prepared to buy anyone it takes to win everything, Chelsea style. I feel for Ashley. If he'd appointed anyone but Keegan or Bobby Robson then had this disagreement, nobody would have been so upset. Total bollocks. Chelsea? As far as transfers are concerned, we're not even competing with Middlesbrough ffs. The best model in the Premiership at the moment (apart from Arsenal, where Wenger is in charge btw) is Aston Villa. That is the type of ambition we should be showing.
  21. Why didn't he think about his kids and his matchday attendance before going out in new York and just leaving that toad Llambias to sort things out with his typewriter and letter writing skills? I don't buy it Mike, sorry. You had your chance to put things right and you weren't interested.
  22. In a way I'm disappointed because I really wanted Ashley to succeed here when he first came in and was optimistic about the future until this all kicked off. He's made his position totally untenable though by siding with his lackeys ahead of KK. He had the chance to put all this right immediately and preferred to get pissed in New York instead so his sentimental bollocks won't wash with me. I do very much take issue with the fact he seems to think we want him out because he won't spend Chelsea money. He doesn't seem to understand that you can't run a successful Premiership club while breaking even on transfers. He's right that Arsenal are the exception to that rule but Arsenal have always said that is because Wenger can spend what he likes but prefers to do things his way. Unless you have Arsene Wenger, it's a plan that is doomed from the outset (especially when your squad's shit in the first place).
  23. Erm... as far as I'm aware, a manager can only choose from the players at his disposal, unless you think he should have been picking Alan Smith at the back end of last season - oh aye, he loves him too (even though he never played him). This KK bashing is getting pretty fucking tiresome if you ask me. "He rates Butt, Geremi, Smith, Ameobi, Maric, Andersson, Des Hamilton and he wants Fumaca back on loan for the season. He told me he always thought Rob Lee was shit too." Aye ok.
  24. What evidence is there that Keegan "seems to rate" Butt and Geremi like?
  25. Yes we are that short because Butt and Geremi aren't good enough. Fairly obvious iyam.
