No - I've lived most of my life, just across the water in Stakeford/Bedlington/Cambois. I know what I'm on about. Ashington has a sizeable amount of mackem supporters.

Glenn Roeder went to Italy with Gazza, IIRC to keep an eye on him. Not sure how long it lasted for though. Glenn was very much a father figure for him, at the time.
