  1. The thing is with these games is that it fetches out all of the radgies from up here - trouble is inevitable.
  2. I thought they were all getting kept back at the end?
  3. Just wondering? Obviously I hope there wasn't, but I can expect there being a fair bit of bother over in the city of the unwashed tonight. I'm at work later, but shall be wearing the black and white shirt with pride.
  4. Rob - owner of Steel Wheels in the town. Fantastic win and performance. I'd said I'd take a tight 2-1 win, but to outplay and humiliate them as we did was simply Thought everyone played well - Carroll and Shola destroyed them, abley supported by Nolan Tiote and Barton. It's a day that will go down in folklore- for sure.
  5. Hats off to Nolan today - a super captains performance. We may have stumbled across a good MC pairing here - Tiote doing the donkey work will allow Nolan to push on. I've been one of Nolan's biggest critics in his time here - but the last couple of games he's led from the front. More of the same please!
  6. Heading off around to the in-laws for lunch in a bit, then back to mine for the match. Can't have a sup as am at work tonight. Howay though!
  7. I'm not yet. As soon as I wake up tomorrow morning I will feel sick as a dog. This.
  8. Media doing their best to crank up the pressure on Hughton. Best way to respond is to beat the mackems tomorrow.
  9. What's the Fat Controller said then? I remember him having a rant a few years ago at a Southampton or Portsmouth fan on the radio!
  10. My old man went to derby games during the 60's. Reckons they could be horrendous occasions with bottles/coins being chucked backwards and forwards. Reckons he saw young lads being stretchered away with cuts to their heads, etc. The 'bother' goes all the way back to the early 1900's when there was an on the pitch riot that the police lost control of. Trouble is not a new thing!
  11. Talksport and the Newcastle bashing. Just listening to it now and it's cringeworthy.
  12. Well, there was the playoff win (I was there, in the corner - left when the knackers at the front ran on the pitch)
  13. Can you not see the problem here? Aye, I can although you know what I meant!
  14. A tight 2-1 win for us. They have a rotten away record and we have to turn it around at home, soon. Can see Carroll causing havoc, which is why many of the mackems are afraid of him.
  15. Someone is muck raking for sure, but with Ashley at the helm, you are never sure of what he will do next. Lose to the mackems on Sunday and the pressure will be cranked up further. And perhaps so it should be, given that it would be 5 home games without a win. That said, Hughton has done a good job and I'm not for having him removed at this stage. He got us back up and has us competing on a shoe-string budget. In a way I'm surprised other clubs have not come in for him because he has shown he has some nous as a manager. I cannot wait for the day Mike Ashley sells this club- he is a parasite.
  16. Anyone got a link to to the mackems on RTG? They'll be shitting themselves now - two local lads up front for us on Sunday. Might make a bit of a difference.
  17. If he's only been fined £1000 then he's a lucky lad. No community service or anything?
  18. I reckon he looks a bit like The Kurgen from Highlander..... "There can be only one!"
  19. Aye - I thought Shola had a good game as well. Some folk are just too blinkered when it comes to hating Shola.
  20. This. When the onus is on us to press for the win, we just don't have the players who can do it. Not helped by a lack of pace and creativity in the side.
  21. Yeah - credit where it's due, I thought he did OK today as well. Still has the legs of a man ten years his age though, which I find baffling.
  22. Great win and much needed. Good performances all round with Tiote completely bossing the midfield (was everywhere) Did really well to boss the game in the 2nd half, but I thought it'd be typical of us to drop a major rick and let West Ham back in. So pleased I was wrong! Great to be sitting in 9th and the derby game doesn't look as daunting now. We still badly need to sort out the home form though!
