  1. Freddy Shepherd has just rang in on the Radio Newcastle phone-in. Bet he's laughing his tits off.
  2. Called it, pretty much sadly.
  3. Nope - Radio Newcastle said he's away back home to the 'North West'.
  4. I think the club will issue a statement later on tonight - probably very close to midnight when all the radgies have gone home.
  5. Out of the blue this - lets just hope he's not another Luque!
  6. I think Owen will move on at the end of the season. I'd hope he feels that he owes the club (and more importantly) us fans something, given all the time he's missed through being injured. Would love him to commit to more time here, but I don't think he will.
  7. Don't quite understand the Barton love-in, in this thread. I hoped the club would have got shot of him earlier in the year, because it was the right, moral thing to do. However the decision was made to keep him, so he stays. Doesn't mean he is worthy of my 'support' though. He's a knacker and it's only a matter of time before he's in bother again.
  8. The crowd reaction for Barton was only to be expected, and fair enough. I remember giving Lee Bowyer and Woodgate stick, during their Leeds days (for their involvement in that Asian lad being beaten up) Fans are fickle though - I wonder if any Arsenal fans booed Tony Adams when he got done for drink driving all those years ago? I bet not!

    Setanta

Burley was awful today - took any opportunity to have a dig at the club with apparent glee.
  10. Getting outclassed, but it's not surprising. Arsenal clearly on a different level to us. What I find surprising is how they looked so ordinary against Fulham, last week? For us - we are struggling to live with their movement in midfield. Ameobi clearly isn't fit, but given our lack of options on the bench there's little we can do. Jonas looks our best player and hope for creating something. Also disappointing to see Enrique go off - our injury curse has struck again
  11. At least we've got a home draw, and we've got a good recent record against Spurs. Gonna try and get tickets for this one - will hopefully be able to take one of the lads I look after, so I can do that as a shift.
  12. It's rotten timing from Milner this - definitely seems to be wanting to force the club's hand. A move to Villa beckons.....
  13. I kind of expected it, because we've had quite a positive start to the season. There are some in the media who are determined to have a go at the club, come what may. I wonder if these were reporters who happened to be well in with the previous boardroom regime? There's a couple of articles on the True Faith site, which pretty much hit the nail on the head regarding all this. Best thing the club, the players and the fans can do is keep on progressing forwards as we have been in the last few weeks.
  14. Really enjoyed the game tonight - we played some good stuff, considering our lack of striking options. It's lightyears ahead of the football we played under Fat Sam and we look all the better for it. Scoreline made it look closer than it was, but you have to credit Coventry for their spirit and fight. Home draw in the next round please.
  15. Sounds very promising....
  16. What a shitty article. Quite nasty - but no surprise given the name of the paper.
  17. Proper fans?! I rapped in at the end of 2006/2007 because I simply couldn't afford it anymore, especially with a youngster on the way. Since then, more people are finding it hard to make ends meet. A drop in attendances was always going to be inevitable.
  18. Owen saying (interviewed by Mick Lowes) that he was quite ill earlier in the summer and was actually in hospital - I assume it was the mumps that was suggested in the media. Also says he expected to get 15/20mins today, but he's delighted to come on and get the winner. Gives credit to Given for his penalty save.
  19. That is the crowd with a few folk getting in for £10 buying the silver strip. The game was not on Sky & was a 3pm kick off. With numbers like that I reckon our season ticket sales are around the 30K mark I think a lot of folk are feeling the pinch at the moment.. £30 a ticket is expensive when you don't have a lot of available cash.
