She walking like John Wayne this morning?

Eh, 'it's a statue ffs'? It fails, imho obviously, to either impress technically or convey any feeling for the man himself, and a statue should have at least one of those attributes. Instead the sculptors limitations distract from the peice to the point that it makes people annoyed that this is what we have to imortlise Bobby. I think he deserved a damn sight better. As POOT said, art is subjective, so fair enough if people like it, great. But for me it's depressingly closer to your Southhampton or mackum statues than our Milburn or his Ipswitch efforts. Nar http://www.shoutingatco.ws/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/ted-bates.jpg Whey, when I said 'closer', it was a fairly big scale.

Eh. What does 'it's a statue ffs' even mean? It fails, in my humble opinion of course, to either impress technically or convey any feeling for the man himself, and a statue should have at least one of those attributes. Not going to keep laying into the sculptor but it pisses me off that his lack of technical nouse or eye is so sodding blatent, and we're going to be reminded of it everytime we pass by the ground. To echo The Northumbrian, Sir Bobby deserved so much better, and that is why this feels like such a kick in the nads despite it's being such a wonderful gesture.

Great that some people love it, but while not quite the disaster I feared from Tom Maley, the end result still makes me disappointed and a little angry... Leaving aside the likeness (and fair play, Tom did a great job on Bobbys bust inside th stadium), what the hell is going on will his hands and pockets ffs.

Really don't get the prevailing attitude that we need shot of him. He fucked up his first opportunity at the club and shouldn't be anywhere near the squad as it stands, but if he costs us a minimal amount when he's on loan, why get rid? He hasn't lost his natural talent and he still has the chance of being a very good player. If he wasn't putting in the effort, then maybe I'd join you in giving up on him, but as it is it would be an utter waste. Good luck to the lad.

Well done Nile. Hope to see you scoring shit loads of goals for us one day (or for someone else on the proviso we lobbed in a big fuckoff sell on clause).
-
Aye, hope it'll be decent. Struggle to believe the sculptor has an artistic bone in his body mind, he's done some fucking awful stuff.

Laurent Blanc : "what he's doing is not bad, especially that we often forget he comes from a serious injury" http://www.rmcsport.fr/editorial/252537/blanc-ce-que-fait-ben-arfa-c-est-pas-mal/ Next wednesday, Blanc will give a first list of players from foreign leagues and on May 16th a second list for "Ligue 1" players. These two lists should be a "pre-selection"of 28 or 30 players. Not bad?

Eh, what's he said that's got you riled up this time?

Chelsea vs Newcastle United - 02/05/12 @ 7.45pm - pre-match thread

From his actual press conference - "Still got 3 games to go, and all to play for. We'll go to Chelsea and give it our best shot." "This team does not need to measure itself against anybody, we've proven that all year, but these are big games and we want to perform well in them for our fans. We want to give our fans an end to the season that makes them proud. The performance in the first half against Wigan wouldn't have made anyone proud, so we wan't to send our fans home proud regardless of the result." Better wording for you Jack? -

Meh. I'm not bothered if we lose all three as long as we put in a proper performance and have a go at them either. I'd choose a heroic end over ending the season on a whimper, every time. -

Ah, come on. It's not just about being the safe option, I've seen nothing at all to suggest that Abeid is the better option over Perch for that role recently, full stop. -
Good set of fans, highly respected throughout Europe too. Really? Know fuck all about them to be fair, but (and do feel free to edit Wikipedia if this is wrong) they sound like a bunch of pro IRA meat-headed cunts to me.

I humbly request that you dub the video. -
If there is one thing I can't abide it's bigotry... well, bigotry and all Scottish football fans. Intolerant bawbags the lot of 'em.

It's not just spikes like in the mock-up though, the stripes are actually different thicknesses around the spikes. I don't think they're supposed to be 'spikes' I think they're supposed to give the impression the stripe has been "twisted" half way down. I think they're supposed to be Puma claw marks...! Actually it is a comment on the old money hegemony of the current Champions League cabal and the 'spikes' are the potentially fatal cracks apparently caused by the delicate sledgehammer of our formidable front three.

I'd be disappointed if they haven't. Pretty bizarre there is such hair pulling over the fashion of the sport and the yearly pining for Nike or such like. You see Hatem wear it, you'll all fuggin' want it. We do well next year, you'll aall fuggin' luv it!
-
Wonderful move by the club, but bricking it slightly. Have no confidence in the sculptor at all.

Will we qualify for the Champions League? Sadly not...

I have never been one of these people who wants English teams to do well in Europe to be honest, I was absolutely gutted when Liverpool won it, even more so when Man United scored the jammy goals in 99 Same, I don't wish the likes of Man Utd and Chelsea any success in Europe at all. On the flipside, we need English clubs to do well to keep hold of that 4th CL spot that might allow the likes of us a way back into the competition. Have no problem whatever happens, but then I still can't belive we stand a chance of ending up high enough to worry. -
"I think that is the most important thing now, we have to do everything we can to win those games. After the season, we will see."
-
Would have been extremely generous of Madrid to give them one like. Or Bayern Munich, you pleb. Think about it then apologise to me. He meant 98-99 final probably. Misunderstood you on like 8 different points Even at that why would Bayern Munich give them one? They lost. I thought you meant "It would be nice of Madrid to give John Terry a medal when they beat Chelsea in the final" To which I said "Bayern Munich also stand a chance of being in the final, dirty commoner" You were wrong. APOLOGISE!

Bah. It's mind games. They only feign hate, Spurs are only pretending to collapse, and he's only decending further into candle faced cuntitude... to lull us into a false sense of hope.
