Not sure how many of us saw him coming on for Simpson, whey I didn't, and I thought it was a cracking decision. Absolutely chuffed to see him make it onto the pitch, and it'll be interesting to see what role he'll play going forward.

1. Depends on what the aims of the club are, and then 2. Only if those acquisitions are good enough to stay in the PL, and then 3. Only in the short term if money saved/made is used to pay off a debt to the owner and not reinvested in the team. So from a supporter's point of view rather than that of a businessman who makes money by capitalising on the customer base and good name of once-established quality brands while reducing the quality of the product, probably not. Was the definition of useless. Kuqi (rightly) never got much of a chance to play for us, but did't see any problem with us bringing him in as extra cover and wasn't for me a failure. Beyond just being there in an emergency, he seemed like he helped the spirit behind the scenes as much as anything and I think that is, as Stu highlights, something that we now place an emphasis on being important. /Oh and to be fair to the bloke he's still scoring goals. 5 in 8 this season.

Played matches? Barely. He's not played a full match yet, and has just missed a reserve match and a few more days of training this last week, as well as having family issues to deal with. Not great preparation I'd have thought.
