  1. Certainly my dad and uncle both had less animosity towards other local clubs than you see nowadays. It was more of a case that it would be great to see all North East teams do well. Having pride in the region rather than just the city.
  2. I did, given that he's been parp every time he's ever played in the centre for us. But hey, don't let that worry you chaps. im sure he claims hes a centre mid too... cant remember why but its etched in the brain somewhere. And Dyer claims that he is best up front, but I'm not sure I would agree with him tbh.
  3. I did, given that he's been parp every time he's ever played in the centre for us. But hey, don't let that worry you chaps. but hey, that's just what we need, players who need to be first choice in just one position but can't play anywhere else You're not even trying anymore are you.
  4. 7 points. Blackburn and Watford wins, and a draw against Reading.
  5. Cracker from Butt - "It was a hot day, but we aren't using that as an excuse."
  6. "The suggestion that we should have done better this season is rubbish," Roeder said. "We've done everything we can but there's other teams who haven't had injuries this year. Please don't write that as an excuse." Yeah even people not connected with the club are finding his bollocks wearing thin. Another fairly scathing review can also be found in the Independant - http://sport.independent.co.uk/football/premiership/article2452402.ece :-[
  7. I thought Robson had loads of injuries, I thought Duncan Ferguson was lying next to Marcelino for most of the first season Robson was at the club. I seem to remember quite a few without going looking for names. Dabizas missed around 6 months, Cort about 7 months, Shearer around 3 months, Dyer around the same off the top of my head. we never went into games with 6 or 7 first teamers out week after week. had owen only been out 3 months where do you think we'd be. i see the situations as being similar You could say the same about Owen under Souness though and where we'd have been had he only missed 3 months. i do actually wonder "what if" with souness and all the injuries we had. Your optimism regarding shit managers knows no bounds. That you can feel the same about this season under Roeder as Robsons first is just staggering. Where the hell do you get your faith in Glenn from exactly?
  8. 2 year with a 1 year rolling auto extension tbf.
  9. Good point. I hope we offer Roeder a long term contract this summer otherwise the team will play shit football. blueyes.gif No, wait. What was the other option?
  10. I don't have any problem with this at all. Glad he appears to be signing a new contract, glad he is going to get some competitive experience, and glad that we are clearly confident enough that we will have more than adequate cover in defense after the transfer window to allow him to go.
  11. WTF! http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcastleunited/news/tm_headline=glenn-has-positive-mental-thoughts-&method=full&objectid=18908428&siteid=50081-name_page.html Dont worry be happy=Roeder's motto :uglystupid2: If Shepherd doesnt sack this c*** he will be here forever playing average football Lucky = Pearson, Happy = Terry Mac I presume. What a f****** fruitcake. http://www.thehappyguy.com/HappyDuck.gif Glenn poses with his coaching staff
  12. He should be running motivational classes. No, wait. Scratch that. http://www.bbc.co.uk/cumbria/content/images/2006/09/18/roeder_470x356.jpg Glenn: It sort of drives you mad. Is the world going to come to an end tomorrow? I guarantee it's not. Men in white: Absolutelly Glenn, come along now. Glenn: Take them away from me; I can't stand negativity. Men in white: If you can just pop this pill Glenn it will make things a little easier. Glenn: Surround yourself with the lucky and the happy - that's my motto..... Men in white: Phew. It's taking effect. I think I left that straight jacket on the back seat Dave, now might be a good time...
  13. What a fucking fruitcake.
  14. "The best managers always hit the nail on the head. Obviously, Alex Ferguson. I would have looked to question him on certain games. 'I'd feel in my bones at United what the team might need on a certain day. And I'd have to say he was usually spot on. He came in and gave what was needed. Sometimes we'd need to be relaxed. Sometimes we'd need a bit of a gee-up. Usually, he came in spot-on. I'd be saying to myself, "This is what the team needs." I hope he comes in from that angle." Interesting little insight. I wonder how many, if any, of the players would say the same for Roeder.
  15. It must be true Bobby who?! http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premiership/newcastle/article1654892.ece What an condecending know nowt cunt that assbonet Rod Liddle is. That article is fucking sickening. >
  16. I like your optimism over Roeder, but to say SAF could have done no better this season? Oh now come on. we might of gained a couple more points here and there, but are you honestly saying we would be challenging for a champions league or even automatic uefa spot. I would say he would have been more successful in bringing in the players we needed and got the team playing for each other, and as a unit playing closer to it's strengths. God knows where that would have got us, but I have no doubt that we would not sniping at each other and feeling utterly frustrated about the future of the club in the manner that we are under Roeder at the moment.
  17. Just tend to get angry and empty. Errr... 'Happy cry' when we do something good quite often though. Big softy me.
  18. I like your optimism over Roeder, but to say SAF could have done no better this season? Oh now come on.
  19. Woah, that's a little strong surely. Man, I hate it when it gets to this point. Glenn had his 3 year plan or whatever but there really is just no obvious sense in continuing with him and it's just a shite situation again for everyone involved. Let's hope Shepherd gets it right next time, or at least finds someone who the supporters can respect from the start. That might be a good first fucking step. Arrrrg bollocks to 'em.
  20. It baffles me that there are still those voting for him to stay at the club (in any capacity tbh). Come on, give your reasons. Am I missing something?
  21. So what do you sugggest, keep him!!!!! Well, unless we can find someone who is significantly better we should keep him Absolutely. But if you think we cannot attract top managers now, do you think we will be in a better position to attract them after another year of Roeder? Give over man.
  22. The reason why Roeder relegated teams was because he cant motivate players to play, it doesnt matter who he buys in the summer he wont be able to motivate them and we WILL STILL BE sh*t Get away, they are not his players. A few more of his own signings and there'll be raging motivation spilling out all ower the shop.
  23. Straight replacements for the 4 problem players he rattled on about not being able to motivate today then. Oh, and I assume he wasn't including Bramble in that lot considering he wasn't even in the dressing room, or Luque considering his minimal time out there, so I make it 6 out at least and 3-4 in. Blinding. I'm all for streamlining our bloated squad.
