Not Janmatt, but cute. Make a nice couple.

If we loan out those lads again, with the possible exception of Good, we might as well forget about them.

But Nicollin, who adopted an uncompromising stance in January, was less than impressed with Cabella's decision to head for Tyneside. He told Foot Mercato: "He wanted to go. I wasn't happy, but I told him, 'Congratulations'. "In England, there is Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, which are above Newcastle, but Newcastle is a club with a lot of French. He likes them, so great. "Personally, I would not go to Newcastle. But hey, I'll see him when he plays against a club in London! "He has what he wants, fine, we'll see. But in any case, he has the ability to succeed in England, that's for sure. "He is frail, but he's hard to catch." "It was not the 15 million euros, but it is not far." A different interpretation. Still, Nicollin is a massive arse.

Not all of them to be fair. http://www.themag.co.uk/the-mag-articles/monaco-fans-saying-emmanuel-riviere-newcastle-transfer/?

Not really, having a partner that fits with you're strengths and weaknesses are is always important. Regardless if you're Alessandro Nesta or Steven Taylor. Not sure what Taylor needs alongside him. Someone who's managed to acquire an O-level is my guess.

Maybe being contrary for the sake of it because I really like Mapou, but surely a good centre back should be able to play alongside most people and still excel. Technically he's great, his recovery is great, but he has a problem if he can only function alongside a certain type of player in the Premiership.

That's the downside to getting a replacement in early. This club! -
Feckers getting my hopes up.

Wait, what. Happy if I can see it, but Google just gives me the godawful news page on the SD site and guessing it's not there?

Is Ryder trying to imply something there by putting "delayed" in single quotes? The git, I'm all worried now. -

Man, I hope that you do. Would indicate an awesome summer indeed. -
Does seem low when GFNF were saying Nicollin wanted €18m inc bonuses. Most seem pretty sure it is £12m. Still struggle to imagine what these bonuses would be. Clearly not success based considering our aversion to the concept, and if they are appearance based, we'll just pull a Gutiérrez (allegedly).

They seem more than capable of patting their own backs as Pardew cringingly demonstrated today, though in this instance popping out and picking up the Dutch right back seems more than adequate tbh. It is adequate and should be treated as such. After all we have been conditioned not to expect any signing even after selling our players. I don't think anyone should be expected to jump in joy cos we would have a decent replacement for one of our best players though. Exactly right. Expectations are now so pitifully low that there's excitement over merely replacing a proven quality player with one that may not be as good. And at the very least will probably take several months to adjust to the league in exactly the same way as Debuchy did. The only ones with pitifully low expectations are those who said that the asset stripping would finally kick in this summer, and we were incapable of such a seemingly professional switch as this. Bring in another world cup right back before the last one has left the building? Not under this regime! No one expects anyone to get warm feelings over Colback, or forget that Debuchy is going and maybe Mbiwa is soon to follow, but surely we're allowed a bit of a spring in our step after the last three signings? -

I can imagine the conversation. Cabella: "So whats Newcastle like lads?". Frenchies:"Well, we play atrocious football and the manager is a dipshit. However, we get paid a shit load, play in a nice stadium, with good fans and theres a good chance you will get a move to a big club within a year or two." Hopefully meeting Marvaux and Obertan doesn't send him into a spiral of depression.

Good lad. Sounds like we got our number one target replacement for Debuchy, which is good news. Am getting over Debuchy way better than I thought I would. Adding this fella to our Dutch ranks definitely helps mind. -

Obviously didn't speak to Pardew then. Why would Pardew be less positive than the players (or anyone else)? I would think Dave means Pardew's constant, we're just a mid table club, can't compete etc etc, not interested in cups or the Europa, that type of thing. I reckon Dave is just being uncharacteristically negative for the sake of debate. We probably weren't competing with top clubs over this lad, but still reckon it shows good intent. For Cabella to make this move after taking advice is nothing but a positive for me. Even if he sees us as a stepping stone, he's been convinced by everyone he's talked to that we are a positive step. For that to be the case, we'll also hopefully be seeing some good times for him and the club in the coming seasons. While i admire your optimism, the last 3 years have told me all i need to know about good times for the club supposedly coming. Fair point, and I'm not oblivious to the fact that Cabaye and (potentially) Debucy didn't need good seasons to get their moves. But still, I really like the look of this guy and if he can give us something to shout about this season, when it could have been so much worse in terms of signings, I'm going to take the positives. I used to love signing and if you can't get excited by this lad it's not good, but that's the problem isn't it. We've been beaten down by this regime to expect nothing. It's not trying to be miserable or anything but we know there's no intention to build a team, a long term project we can all see unfold. It's solely about profit and future sale value. It's just hard to get up for the new season, that and throwing Pardew special brand of retard in. Just frustrating is all. Yeah, I get ya. But there is this odd dividing line where generally we're not going to get a profit unless we buy well and the players individually or collectively give a good account in the Prem. I guess this shouldn't be a concern, but it is for the vast majority of clubs, and while we don't have much faith in Pardew currently, we are still buying shrewdly and that is a fairly big positive considering it's much easier to get shot of him than his squad of players. If that sacking happens (and lets face it, it's not unlikely barring some Damascene moment for him) then by Juno, then I'm all for maintaining a decent set of players on our books. Fkn love it in fact. Edit: sorry, bit drunk and on windows phone so forgive if that's unreadable bellocks...

Up to £16m depending on clauses apparently.
