  1. If I'm in Cabaye's shoes, I'll jump at Arsenal's offer no matter what. One of the world's top managers, an attractive attacking side in the CL yearly as opposed to the current world he is in. The choice is more than obvious really. They'll not make it through the Champions League qualifier. Wenger will be gone before Pardew. Stay right where you are Cabaye old son.
  2. Would be a disaster for us to score, or win. Would give people false hope.
  3. Would tend to agree, although Baines has a fair few years on Evra who I reckon will be winding down sooner rather than later. Maybe not a priority this season, but a cracking replacement nonetheless.
  4. Who are we referring to here? Ian? Interpolic? Incognito? These loons need to be stuck in the stocks so we can all have a go.
  5. ... and not taking a salary. Not that any of it matters, all that matters in regards to the finances is that we bring in the players we need this window. Fingers crossed, we do. What a shit thing to even be discussing. It's our first game of the season tonight.
  6. Who are these people in the bit bolded that want to pay off the debt before buying any players? I find it hard to believe you haven't just made that up. If not...

Pigshit. The useless c*** has already proved he can't cope with more than 1 game a week. I hate him. I absolutely f***ing hate him. If you remember at the time, even before the injuries were hitting hard, he said we got into Europe a year or two earlier than expected. He is contradicting nothing if he now feels that with the one or two additions we are now ready to enter European competition again... or at least aim for it. He's full of shit, this time last year we were starting out on our challenge for the top 4. We all know how well that went. True. His propensity towards positivity that summer was, with/without hindsight, sickening.

Pigshit. The useless cunt has already proved he can't cope with more than 1 game a week. I hate him. I absolutely fucking hate him. 9. Only one team who finished below us last season is still in the division. Well spotted Michael. Being such an attentive little scamp, you may also have noticed a couple of properly shite teams were promoted and there is a very good chance we will finish above the likes of Fulham, Stoke etc. Fair enough if you think relegation is the most likely outcome this season. I just think that's an insane point of view. Pure cray cray. Absolutely. Am I reading the poll right? Is the winning answer as we stand (dismissing whatever fml means) that we are certain to go down? Even barring us not bringing in two or even one new attacking player, this is utterly mental.
  10. The wall has even less need for gates. They're not gates, they're 'cladding'. And it's better than sticking them where you're suggesting, or somewhere else for the mackum tourists to clamber over. Climbing wall for pissed mongs on a saturday night and they climb over and get knocked over by Yup, not doubting for one minute that that'll still happen.

  12. Er... Nah. They could have put them where they were originally. But there's no need for them there, or new gates anywhere.
  13. Struggled to think where you'd could actually use them as functioning gates, so it's as good a place as any. Just think of it as an artistic addition to the ground, and as such I think they'll look pretty good. Er... Nah.
  14. Nice to see he thinks we're a bigger club than Fulham. /pardew
  15. I guess they'll just point to their CL spot and say there can't be that much wrong. I'd be delighted if you could tell my arsenal supporting friend that. His face would be priceless. Obviously they are used to winning things but when you consider that they aren't in the same spending league as the three clubs above them then 4th spot is not a bad achievement if looked at through neutral eyes. Yup, I wouldn't complain. But still, they are on a bit of a trophy drought, and they've had a pretty healthy spend in the past (facilitated by the selling off of their best players to be fair). That should increase now they have pretty much cleared their stadium debt and are pulling in massive money. Hell, even their ticket sales are probably four times that of SJP on a match day.

Basically don't spend any money on players? Doesn't our gross spending put us 6th in that table? Above Chelsea.

    Alan Pardew

Yes, but we have over £100m in debt and up until a couple of years ago were losing £30m+ a year. That's a fact isn't it? So either we need affordable debt sources or Ashley needs to use his own money. Or the club could spend its own money instead of being used to repay the debt. You said yesterday it was unacceptable for him to be withdrawing his debt, now you're saying it's fine. Going down your route of borrowing as a display of ambition, we'd be spending similar amounts just paying interest on bank loans. If we don't get in another striker then it means fuck all, but at least this way our debt is shrinking.

Exactly, don't understand all this Pardew hates Europe? He gave it his best shot, never neglected the cup and fielded weakened teams no matter the opposition. Fact of the matter is, that we generally played pretty much our strongest side in Europe and it did bare an impact on our league form and history tells us we weren't the only ones to suffer from it. Be very interesting to see how Laudrup approaches it. Do i want to be in Europe again next season? Course i do. Does Pardew? Course he does. Because he said "thank god we're not in. Europe"? He was deadly serious when he said that. A straighter face you never did see.
