  1. The idea that it's not important to win tonight is just mental. It'll be unbelievably shit if Leeds take it. Come on you fuckers.
  2. Both of them have got to cup finals with lesser teams.
  3. So why not just drop out of all cup competitions and play matches against select XI teams behind closed doors? Sure people are overreacting at these comments like. They aren't saying they don't want to win one or they don't want to be in the cup. Just saying simply if they bomb out early it's not going to have an impact on them because they are more concerned for the PL. I'm sure most clubs feel exactly the same. As per we dive overboard. They should choose their words more carefully then, or not say anything at all. Everything should be a priority. The attitude should be 'we should be going out there, every single game, and aiming to win absolutely everything'. I'm not sure it is fair to expect an upgraded accountant to show the bellicose bluster of a Victorian field general.
  4. How the hell they had the gall to say that, I have no idea. Such bollocks.
  5. It's a disgusting attitude. Disgusting lack of ambition. Maybe if we can stumble to a QF Pardew will realise he has a chance to make history and focus on a cup. IMO the very definition of a midtable side should be looking to cup runs. 5-6 points can take you from 9th to 14th in the league, such small margins. I understand the money from 9th-14th is significant but I wouldn't want my job depending on such a thing. I'd take lower midtable finishes and real cup attempts over finishing 8th and rolling over to Brighton again. I just don't think it follows that we wont put effort into the cups. Considering one of the few things Pardew is known for is his failed (unfairly possibly) cup finals, I'm pretty sure he will as well. Despite playing squad players in the earlier rounds, I think we took Europe pretty seriously, no? Looking at the other parts of the report, why isn't Ashley taking that £18m back now as planned? Surely a good time for it seen as we spent fuck all this summer. Oh and good news on the disabled away travel. Oh, and wtf are we doing still deciding the third kit? Will it go to a vote for members?
  6. Lot of twanging of knees going on. All that appears to have been said is that the priority is the league. As it has always been, as it always will be, for every club. We will go out tonight looking to beat Leeds and progress.

Nah, seemed all too plausible so stuck a bet on Newcastle to win first half, Hull to win full time at 70 to 1. Pessimism! The only reliable winner.
  8. This has to be a joke surely. Quite.
  9. Kinnear was right, Douglas is shite. We sodding needed someone mind. Love the lad when he's on form, but Taylor is a ticking time bomb in so many ways.
  10. Aha, the excuse Ashley needs! I feel a January recruitment drive is in order.
  11. Here's hoping. We only managed 2 clear goals what, twice last year?
  12. Bet you're kicking yourself for missing the game. Sounded like a cracker.
  13. Not confident about this. Reckon we'll get an early goal and they'll hit us for two in the second half. Fuck you Steve Bruce.
  14. Quite. More evidence, if needed, that we don't sell at the drop of a hat, and we try and hold onto the core of our players despite interest. Really great to have him back in the fold (for now at least; quotes still suggest he wants away at the end of the season, though it may just be poorly worded).

I've said it already, but lads like Brett, who've taken a bit of a battering, are dying to throw things back in people's faces. Now is not the right time to even be attempting that. It's very early days. Giz a break man, i'm enjoying my moment, might only last a week It's not your moment, man. You look f***ing stupid, and will look even worse if it all goes to s*** again. Just enjoy it, and hope it lasts. Keep doubting lad, keep doubting, more people pretend to themselves this is a one off, the more i will revel in our future success. Not even sure Saturday's win would have felt as good without all you guys Doubt what, man? I'm one of the few who thought there was a remote possibility of him turning it round. You're spoiling it for the rest of us. My sense of identity is all over the place now, I'm siding with Dave and SanToon. Christ.

Without a doubt, Taylor/Tiote/Jonas being out at the same time was a blessing although i'm fairly certain Taylor/Jonas wouldn't be in regardless. Still fancy Tiote to creep back into the side at some point but no way is Remy/Mym coming out for the other two. Pardew hasn't even been giving enough praise for which deserves for how well he has actually utilised Ben Arfa and got him playing some of the best football of his career, really think the way he has handled Ben Arfa here has been superb. See, I don't get this idea that he's just twigged or got lucky with the team due to injuries. He's been after a starting central defender which was always likely to see Taylor as the one benched. His priority has been to get Remy in for a while, and this summer also one more for the left/up front to push/push out Jonas. He love Tiote, and I do too, and yes, he will play a lot this season, but he has also consistently said that this year will be Anitas year, someone we have invested in heavily. He has also consistently said that this is the kind of football he wants to see. Here I can't defend him as much, not least because I don't find it easy to see him as the greatest of managers, but also because it seems that as as soon as things go against us, whether that be injuries, fatigue, no signings, or fuck knows what else he gets panicked and thinks safety first. But that's not to say he hasn't always been aiming for this kind of team. I think he has.

I thought we made them look horrible and he deserves some credit for that. Oh absolutely, I'm not taking anything away from the team, I'm just saying it's a step in the right direction but we're nowhere near the level we should be at. What level are you expecting of this squad? From this squad? Considering we have better players than the season we finished 5th I'd say realistically top 9. Competing with Everton behind the top 6-7 clubs. And you think we are nowhere near that level (finishing 7-9th) this season? I don't think we're that far off really, and the thing that would stop us getting there is not Pardew imho, but similar to last year, injuries hitting the first team. Absolute travesty we couldn't get a few more players in over the summer.

  19. Pardew has got what he wanted considering our lack of depth, a fit and fairly settled first team.
  20. He's as discerning and positive as a puppy. Puppie aren't wankers. Especially ones waking up every morning and realizing they're getting paid to play in the prem for Newcastle.
  21. Yeah, God forbid he answers the likely question, 'What would you do for your testimonial?'. He also said, "I was there last night watching and it was incredible, so many people were talking about it. Many teams in the country don’t have that level of support from the crowd for a charity game, they might get 15,000 or 20,000 if they’re lucky but nothing like 50,000 but that is what Newcastle is all about." What a wanker.
  22. I thought there were reports from France that his preferred choice was Marseilles but they had asked him to be patient and wait until his contract had run down and then they would be able to bring him in at a lower fee and meet his demands. He's stayed at Lyon so that makes me more pessimistic definitely. Totally missed that if it was the case. Yet Jean Michel-Aulas, president of Lyon, complained to French football authorities last month that his Marseille counterpart Vincent Labrune had continued to approach Gomis and ended any hope of a fresh deal. Aulas had said last month: "We saw Vincent on August 2 and I asked him to stop his manoeuvres. "But Marseille continued, and it was only after I verified that they didn’t want to invest the sum that was demanded that I asked for an explanation from the league’s Commission for Legal Affairs." Labrune had hit back at the claims by saying: "As I said to Jean-Michel Aulas, I’m not going to shoot myself in the head because players are interested in the sporting challenge at Marseille. "Our strategy is good." Ronnie Gill today - http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/lyon-drop-complaint-over-marseilles-5909623?
