Shola? Anyway, good luck Nobby, fear you've only got this season in the EPL so make the most of it.

I had to read the 3 times.

By jove you're right! Must have been getting carried away there... Ok I'll let him off with that one! He was on the board and a major decision maker at that time wasn't he? you're right. The BOARD make these major decisions collectively, and it was Hall Jnr, Shepherd and Fletcher who chose Keegan when he was appointed. The chairman at the time was outvoted by his board members, but strangely gets the credit for it. He wasn't outvoted as SJH still had the final say, they did twist his arm though. They twisted if quite violently by all accounts !!! He certainly didn't want to get rid of Ardiles All correct according to Keegan, he didn't want to sack Ardiles because he was a friend and had backed him in the press rather than thinking he was a capable manager though. Serious question then NE5 - Do you think Shepherd had taken the club as far as he could and the time was right for a change in the board? For me the timing of the sacking of Roeder, the appointment of Sam, the hounding of the FA for the £10m compo for Owen and the plans for the regeneration of SJP and its surroundings suggests maybe, just maybe the old fool had finally started to get things right. We'll never know now, but his mistakes were far too many, that accumulating in £80m worth and relatively nothing to show for it.

Its all falling apart already!!!

Its never been that from as long as i remember. Andy O'Brien played for England U19's and then switched to Ireland. That was about 7 years ago.

Bollocks! We should have got at least 1.5 for him! We'd be lucky to get a fee for him. Near enough worthless as a winger or midfielder. Be soothed in the fact both our signings must be going through. Beyond harsh. Not really. Since his return to SJP he had about two good games, or 2 games where it was the Nobby of old. Being forced into the RB position last season was the best thing that ever happened to him, it prolonged his career and enhanced his usefulness. As a winger, he's a nothing player now, good time to get rid. Still a better defender than Carr though, but i'd rather play Geremi ahead of him who could do a much better job, and now with Beye we really don't need him. He's still technically the best footballer at the club and a far better option than Smith down the right, I can see us living to regret this. Losing a player of his ability for fuck all is shite and can only think Allardyce is doing it because he wants to go. Losing him isn't so bad, but not replacing Dyer with some much needed pace will haunt us. Nobby does want to go, so a player physically on his way out and not mentally focused. Certainly a good time to get rid. He does have all the technical abilities a player needs, i've just not seen it often enough since his return to be too concerned over his departure.

That horrible chuckle through his bent hooter sent shudders down my spine.

He's never played for the full NT.

Worst signing (all clubs) of the summer
Dokko replied to Colos Short and Curlies's topic in Football
Who? Me? Faye on loan to a league where he'll probably do ok, compared to spunking £17m on a striker who's worth half of it when having defensive frailties, no comparison no matter how shit he was for us. If not me, soz like... -

Bent by far as they simply had 3 top strikers, and no cover at the back for a permanently injured Ledley King. -
READ THIS! Baptista arriveth, sooneth ... Basket case. Radio has just announced that he's on his way to Sunderland on loan. They're just getting their North East clubs mixed up. They'll correct that soon enough. Baptista a basket case? He's quality man. Big Sam will get the best out of him. Don't be so negative Wulliemeister I think the basket case he was referring to was you mate!

Unbelievable. A recluse for the best part of 40 years then all of a sudden Newcastle, the club and the City drag him out into the world and he sounds like he's having a class time with it as well. This can only mean good things for this club.

Enrique. From all accounts in Spain a player our club in its best state would be lucky to sign nevermind the shambles its currently coming out of.

£ & $ Oh right... Poor guy struggling to make ends meat then. Roman's butler tbh.

£ & $

I think clubs from shite Countries should be booted out in favour for bigger clubs in bigger Countries. Its not the select Champions anymore anyway, you might as well go the full hog, not cut back on bigger teams.

Would be immense. Anything up to £14m, he's well worth it.
