    Baines fee?

Then let him go. He's too much hassle tbh, after getting rid of Bowyer & Bellamy (even Woody for that matter), we really should start to clean up our image with the public. Barton is one incident away from never playing football again (because i think he's got it in him to do something super daft), not something we want hanging over us. If Barton was sold Man City fans would be sad a decent player has left, but there silver lining would be 'he's someone else's problem now'. Am not sure i want it to be us, not 100%, not even 70%.

The fact hes a fuking cunt? Good player though, but £5.5m? He's worth it, but we dont need him as much as spending hafl our winter budget. If Butt went the other way as part deal, or Parker has been provisionally sold then yes, get him in. Otherwise, we dont need him, not at the moment. Stelios can fuk off unless were selling Solano. If we sell Milner were stupid, but it would make sense some dicko journo thinking were going to sell Milner and replace him with that bag of shit.

Athletico Madrid. Who have the joint best defensive record in the league blueeek.gif Shit, might be doing well this season then. lol Yeah, although their attacking play isn't up to much, if Torres left they would really start to struggle as Kezman is doing fuck all there too What a wasted talent that boy is. Which leads me to think a Luque make weight deal would be beneficial for both parties? I agree with Perea too, watched him when they have been on sky and reminds me of Rio, a ball-playing defender, though more of a centre back than fullback. Luque + 1-2 Million for Seitaridis would do nicely. On to something there with Luque going the other way. I hope someone from NUFC reads these fuking boards, i really do.

Am all for attacking fullbacks, but they need to be solid defenders 1st of all for me. Sounds slight, and slight players playing in Portugal dont fill me with confidence for adapting to our fast paced physical game. But i dont know anything about him to judge.

    Baines fee?

Was shit hot in 2004, one of their best players. Moved to Moscow soon after from Porto (reported £8m fee), it didn't work out, he didn't like the Country so moved on (undisclosed fee thought to be £5m) Haven't really heard much of him this season, so dont know if he's doing well or not, but he is in the team.

Again, someone i've mentioned many times on here, Giourkas Seitaridis. I reckon we could get him for less than £5m. Young ish, strong, tall, determined, experienced, i think he's a canny player. Would be the best rightback this club has had since i've started supporting the club. I did like the look of Miguel, but he plays for Valenica now, and IIRC Valencia's usual RB is injured for the season, he's filled in and has done well. Luis Perea is another good option there, also can play at RB, but for me would be a risk, he might not adapt, same with Miguel imo, but with Seitaridis being Greek, i think he'd suit our game more and would be my 1st choice.

    Baines fee?

I think what's been put forward is realistic, and where we should be heading in the window if possible. We've got limited knowledge of the game, therefore we can only offer a few names in to the hat, we've just got to hope the club is looking at strengthen the leftback position as strongly as we want it to be, if so, we'll end up with someone decent. Get a £5m leftback in, a £5m Rightback, and get rid of Carr & Babayaro, and our defense improves 500%. Loan a striker, we just need a body and a stopgap, thats all, not another star studded striker. Do this and we'll have a good second half to the season, and hopefully we can then look away from these two positions, and concentrate on other areas in the summer.

Any chance this is old, wasn't he at the world cup? (or am i tripping?) i don't remember nigera at the world cup. but yeah, i think its old. Aye must of been AN's i've seen him in. Defiantly seen him somewhere, but only brief, a game if that, looked decent but think am getting my cups mixed up.

More than suitable, i'd imaging we'd have a hard time getting him here.

Plays in France? Aye he's supposed to be decent. 6ft aswell so a good height! Wonder if they'd do a swap for Babayaro then? Got to get rid of him somehow.
  14. Given really needs to work on his angels.

I thought he was a cb. He can play left back too I like CB's playing as FB's, total solid unit. Doesn't offer much going forward, but keeps the goals out, especially the crosses.

    Baines fee?

Not really tbh, i've actually asked on here before, just know they produce a good standard of fullback these days, and the German league is quite like our own, so adapting and scouting ability shouldn't be too hard even for this club to do. Greek ones as well as Dutch. The games are similar imo, requires a certain level of ability but the mental & physical characteristics of these nations usually are the same, but hopefully cheaper in price to buy compared to shopping here. We need determined, strong, fast & injury free players, then we can build on the rest after that.

Not many, need to go outside of the EPL imo. Been saying for a while we should look in Germany. Matty Taylor would spring to many peoples mind if you think of EPL Lb's, but take away his cracking shots and he's a pretty average player, even worse defender.
  21. Aye, there wasn't enough room for them here, too many cooks etc...
  22. We beat Spurs were on the same points as Villa & 3 behind Tottenham themselves, not so bad considering the start and current injuries. Also Villa have Manu at home this weekend (IIRC) so catch up is on the cards hopefully we have them new years day though Aye but thats next year man!

Aslong as they have never seen him play they might I would love Baines here though, he's impressed me a lot this season. Well, worth a shot wasn't it? £6m though, might see him move. I'd be happy to trade Carr, Bramble, Babayaro or Butt (even in good form) if they wanted any of them, Jewell did buy Heskey, so he's not as switched on as people give him credit for! :winking:

http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=436972&CPID=8&clid=111&lid=2&title=Jewell+fires+Baines+warning Paul Jewell has warned Arsenal that Leighton Baines will not be leaving Wigan Athletic on the cheap. Ahead of the January transfer window, reports have claimed that Arsenal are looking to bring in a new left-back. Baines' impressive form for Wigan this season, coupled with his displays for England's Under 21 side, has made him a prime target for the top clubs. Reports have claimed that Arsene Wenger is ready to pay £4million to bring Baines to Emirates Stadium in the New Year. But while Wigan boss Jewell insists he would never block a player from joining a club of Arsenal's stature, it would only be for a fair price. Jewell said: "£4million won't get Leighton Baines that's for sure. "If he is being talked about as a future England full-back, then you can't get him for that. "I'll never stop a player going to a top-four club, but I will at £4million. That's not on. "Right now I've had no contact with Arsenal, but I can guarantee he will not be going for that amount of money. "Obviously, we don't want to lose any players. Leighton is a very sensible lad and I think he is better off here at the moment." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ £5m + Babayaro might get them thinking, might.
