It was nice for him to be part of the World Cup winning side this year I thought. A player who has stuck with (largely) one club throughout his career and given his all for the national side, with that much talent, and opportunity deserves a bit of luck. I dunno why but I always had a feeling he would sign for us one day, especially during the Keegan era. Funny. So did I, one of my fav players of all time, the Italian Beardsley, i'd still take him now, could do a job like Zola did at Chelsea.

HE isn't! Wouldn't mind going for Young though, decent player and certainly a massive improvement on Carr. Would love Taylor from Wigan but he is injured. Good shout. Nicky Butt is 50% the reason the defense is playing so well, 40% is to do with Babayaro & Carr being out of the team, 10% Taylor starting to shine. We must keep them out, we must replace them and hopefully sell them, do this and our defense can finally have the spotlight off them for a change, and our young defenders might get a chance to learn.

Taylor, Ramage, Hunty & Bramble. That will do me, especially the 1st two, they look handy together. They'd look even better with decent fullbacks protecting them, in fact, they look great having footballers beside them, even ones out of position, so ones of real quality in their actual position would go down a treat. It will do for now until the end of the season, where we can hopefully bring in a world-class CB for a big fee like we did with Woody.

Upson? I wouldn't spend more than £2.5m on him. Injured for the last 9months, out of contract in 18months time, 28. Who's to say he's retained any of his pace after this horrific injury? If he loses that little edge he has in his game, he'll be worse than what we've got, and will only go downhill. Upson should be bought cheaply or not at all.
