Needs to up his game, even at championship level. He's probably the biggest disappointment from last season for me personally. I had high hopes for him but poor play, wrongly channeled aggression and immobility has pointed him in the direction of a big waste of time and money. Still something very likeable about the lad and would love to see it click next season for him, but as others say missing the first 4 games puts him at a huge dissadvantage of his own making and if we're playing well plus scoring goals then we might not see him start a league game for months.

He had a good game apparently. Fingers crossed he get a couple of years on decent wages and does fuck all after 1 or 2 games.

Very good appointment if the fans give him time. But time is something you don't have as a Sunderland manager. If things don't work out quickly then doubts will grow and he'll be hounded out like at his last two jobs as the football is basic and relies on team spirit. Also I might be wrong but I'm sure his first 2-3 years at Everton were ropey and he had them at the bottom end a few times. Moyes vs Rafa again....interesting.

This is the kicker. Was I really annoyed when Cabaye went for comparative peanuts? Didn't care. Happy with this. Big no nonsense defender. Seems to be able to stay fit all season. Judt hope he's clever enough not to keep getting sent off on our return to the prem.

We should get relegated more often

There's a good player there, but his heart wasbt in it here and clear to see after a couple of months his regret. Very much a luxury player, one we can't afford to carry.

Moyes takes years to get going. He wasn't given that in his last two jobs and won't see the season out at Sunderland if it goes as bad.

So do they even ask the fa for compensation or do they call this a favour like the fa did them for not relegating them on the spot for knowingly playing a nonce?
