  1. This thread is even more boring than banter between Decky and Pilko.
  2. I swear Raylor must have something in his contract the forbids him from playing on the left.
  3. Bit like Robson at West Brom. Not enough second chances in this game any more.
  4. Carroll starts according to Lowes. That is the team on .co.uk
  5. Donaldson and Pancrate our spare defenders then.
  6. Subs: Steve Harper, Kevin Nolan, Peter Lovenkrands, Fabrice Pancrate, Andy Carroll, Ryan Donaldson, Haris Vuckic
  7. With Chopra's past record, I'd give Kennedy a right bollocking if I was manager.
  8. Well the season is over, we've won the league, but what will the lasting impression be amongst our rival fans of Newcastle United Football Club? Will we get more sympathy from the fans of these clubs when the next negative press story inevitably comes out? On one hand, we've played well, had good fan turnouts, but on the other hand we've beaten teams and benefitted from the parachute payments.

£40m out of £50m = 80% Say that was the case, am I right in thinking that there is a big boost in PL income for all clubs next year? Entering the PL with a much more room relative to turnover could help us out a lot compared to other struggling clubs
  10. I've almost blanked last season out of my mind now, but was Coloshown up against quality strikers, or against typical lower rate physical English/French/African types?
  11. I think the real sign of whether a player is professional is whether they are improving from when they first break into the scene until they lose their legs. The game has changed a lot since a couple of decades ago when often players didn't peak until much older. These days we are writing off players at 21, and perhaps this is down to the fact that players are less motivated to improve themselves and happy to stick with what they've got. Rooney and Milner are examples of players who have continually improved and will continue to improve. This shows the importance of the manager and the general squad spirit which must be one where the youngsters are not encouraged to make do with the high wealth they've got, but to develop their own personal aspirations. At Newcastle you couldn't say this has happenned in the past, Milner would have probably got better but he is a rare case. However I think we are getting there now, and the challenge will be improving the standard of the core players at the club without sacrificing the culture. If we do this, we should be able to get much more out of any talented signings we make compared to what we have seen in the past.
  12. This is absolutely riveting stuff. When is it going to happen?
  13. Did we find out who the player at the training day was?

I predict that there will be cum stains over the profit on the originals.
  16. Same I'm thinking much the same, unless he gained a French driving license as it was easier. If he had a French licence before he moved over here then it's probably above board. That transfers to an international licence, which is valid for a year iirc. After that he'd have to do his test over here. Also I don't know if I'm definitely remembering this right but I think the international licence might be re-activated each time you come back into the country. Might be wrong about that last bit, can't remember properly. He wouldn't have needed to take a test. http://srve.red24.info/relocate/en/nonmembers/driving.php Also, don't forget he's been here since 17 so it would have been easier for him to do it in this country.
  17. Think Birmingham paid to loan him, so they have a right to keep him if they choose. and like city need the money. for how much they got it would have been insurance in case of this. to leave yourselves with only 2 keepers in their position (financially and going for a champs league spot) is pretty stupid. Like I asked earlier, is it good for the game for clubs to have three decent keepers at the top club with one having no chance of playing? As that is what would happen without the insurance. Nielsen sounds like our Caig, there so we can play a reserve game. The rules are there unopposed by the Premier League clubs. As pointed out by NUT and myself other clubs have used it in the past, and will do so again.
  18. Anyone got a photo of N'Zogbia driving a car out of the training ground with an empty passenger seat? Could be a nice earner from a tabloid.

  20. David James. Portsmouth have nothing to play for and need to investigate their reserve keepers anyway. Chance to save and earn a bit of money, and he'll be back for the cup final. James knows the club well and has a chance to show he can still play at a higher level club to stake his claim for the World Cup.
  21. £ Yep, clubs like us with nothing to play for wont mind doing it for some sort of bonus.
