  1. James

    RIP sale thread.

Holidays can easily be adjusted if it looks like a deal can be broken.
  2. at Jim Rosenthal singing the national anthem completely out of time
  3. Like the Germans better have pensioners from Allo Allo and Sir Bobby's Ipswich players from Escape to Victory on the bench!
  4. Do you not have Freeview? Channel 24. No I only have the basic channels now since the seasons over ITV4 is a basic channel.
  5. Look, I would normally appreciate that a venue would need to get some reinbursement. But this is Newcastle United and Bobby Robson we are talking about. I can't see any decent football club doing this, and we used to be a decent football club. Besides I figure the club must have made about £7-9m profit on player bought to the club by Sir Bobby Robson and sold by Ashley. As such I feel that Sir Bobby has earnt his free game.
  6. Where does it say that NUFC are paying a third of the costs?
  7. Aye the 3 parties being Toast, The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and the club. Nowhere does it say Bobby himself is to pay. The foundation does, and that is the shitter, its taking money out of the foundation which could be used to research and treat cancer. Sir Bobby has also kindly agreed to make a donation to the Newcastle United Foundation from the proceeds of Sunday's game. Think that is the quote that he was looking to post. I presume the Newcastle United Foundation means Mike Ashleys pocket. To be fair, the Newcastle United Foundation is a charity, albeit a very flimsy one that I would never donate to.
  8. Aye the 3 parties being Toast, The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and the club. Nowhere does it say Bobby himself is to pay. Ultimately it is Bobby Robson's charity missing out on money they would have otherwise received, and therefore it is reasonable to perceive it as Robson footing the bill. Why are you toontastic people out in force on the windup tonight? Not really a wind up, you implied by your title that Robson, personally, was to foot the bill. Read Mattyp's post. The statement itself suggests that it is Sir Bobby, by extension, whom is footing the bill.

  10. I hate the man, but Freddy Shepherd would have given it for free, thrown a couple of grand in, and got the money back through goodwill and pie sales.
  11. I am actually shaking with rage having read that. This is the final straw for me.
  12. NUFC have made Sir Bobby Robson pay the bill for tomorrows game. NUFC have released a statement making excuses for this. http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10278~1733386,00.html I haven't seen anything in the press about this so it looks like they are trying to pre-empt a Sunday scoop.
  13. Would prefer to be eight weeks away.
  14. This is like deal or no deal when you reject that nice 'red' offer of 17th in the Premier League, and you say no deal, so having opened up the Hull, Aston Villa and Leyton Orient boxes, you are left with the footballing equivalent of 1p or £1 and you get offered 50p.
  15. Can we have that in Pie Chart form please? The was a pie chart in that post before you read it, but Nixon ate it
  16. Agree with Pilko, dcmk, and GeJon, and it is worth pointing out as well that Hughton might be given the top role, but the board have given him no authority. Whoever Ashley appoints, even if it is Shearer will have no authority with the players as the manager will not have been empowered by the board. Currently the players have nothing to play for either so you can't blame them. The buck stops completely with Ashley and Farcical Farce.
  17. All a sign of players with nothing to play for.
