Bit of a shock in the Conference playoffs. Exeter City were 1-3 behind on aggregate away at rivals Torquay with 20 minutes of the tie remaining, and went on to win 5-3.

Fergie had a go at Chelsea yesterday for thinking that they'd already won this game.

Scored more goals than anyone except Man United this season. Not dull. A traditional, quality winger in Ashley Young? Not dull. The pace of Agbonlahor? Not dull. Combined with the power of Carew? Not dull. The passing of Barry? Not dull. Currently in with a very good chance of finishing 5th, two years after having looked odds on for relegation, and not even having started spending properly yet? Not dull. I admire your optimism, but you're just pretending other teams don't exist and not really providing any arguments to back up your theory. It was indeed a great result at WHL but by that measure, West Ham have beaten Man U the last three times they've played. All hail next year's champions from East London. Everton dull and workmanlike? And fifth in the league. It is a very competitive league and will get more so. Villa at the moment remind me very much of Robson's Newcastle. A Shearer would have you in the top 3 in my opinion. Villa should go all out for Villa, he could be the man for you guys. I don't think scoring goals is actually a problem for Villa at the moment. No, but a top top striker would really change the dimension of the Villa team, allowing them to defend from the front much like we did with Griffin, bramble, O'Brien and Bernard in defence.

It only takes a Robert and a Bellamy at the end of the day. I'm certainly not going to be dissapointed with gradual improvement, but I wouldn't be suprised if things happenned otherwise.

Newcastle United: 1st in Division 1, 3rd, 6th, 2nd, 2nd, 13th, 13th, 11th, 11th, 4th, 3rd, 5th, 14th, 7th, 13th, 12th. That pretty much indicates how a club can quickly rise and fall. It often isn't a gradual process, in fact those that climb gradually one season tend to fall gradually the next, getting nowhere. As I see things, us and Villa are the best placed to break into the top 4 next season. My league table was deliberately a bit silly, but one of the top 4 could easily drop down, we've all seen it before, and I believe we can capitalise.

Sammy McIllroy falling over at Wembley.

Is it possible that Ashley, who is of course an expert at flogging football kit, while not being a fan of some of the slightly dodgy industrial practices that go on in that line of business, may have different ideas regarding the release of our strips?
-
no he doesn´t. he looks very strong, like Messi and Tevez. Messi is a tricky winger (ie lightweightedness allowed) and Tevez is an absolute monster. Nasri is nowhere near Tevez in terms of build, and he plays central midfield where physique is needed.
-
He was in a flop sidebar iirc.
-
Nasri is widely regarded as the next Zidane. Would prefer him to the next Didier Drogba.
-
Bafe Bafetim Bafe Bafetim Bafe Bafetim Bafetimbi Gomis.
-
I like Ferdinand, Tevez, Giggs and Scholes, I hate Terry, Ashley Cole, Drogba, Lampard. Therefore I want Manchester United to win.
-
I'd be embarassed with that one

The jurisdiction of the Welsh FA really needs addressing.

I can see Sinawatra making some of his players stay, even if they want out...
-
Looking at the teams in the other leagues, one name that stands out is Bradley Orr, who has been named in the Championship team.
-
In terms of finding a player who can lead from the back and has Premiership experience, Dunne is possibly the best we can get. Must be slightly wary though that he was considered a laughing stock a couple of seasons ago before he turned things round. There is always the risk that moving him out of a settled defence and less pressured environment could turn things pear shaped.
-
When we played the Mackems, I thought that Jones was the best player on the pitch, but was being let down by the Mackems over defensive tactics, and most Premiership teams could build a team around him.
-
Viduka has been playing with an achilles injury the last couple of games by the way, making him even less mobile.
-
One semi final, one quarter, one round of 16 plus we generally won more games than the CL teams do in that period explains our position. We'll plummet next season when I believe our semi disappears fromour scoring.
-
On that basis, I'd probably bring Duff and Milner into the team for the rest of the season as two players who can stretch their legs a bit more.
-
Keegan reckons we are tiring now and don't have fresh legs to bring into the team, hence the performances.
