  1. I was right about Geremi by the way FUCKING YES!!! COME ON!!! (At the 2-1 scoreline)
  2. Our three midfielders aren't the most popular of our players, but I'd say that their passing has become very progressive. There are still sideways passes, but the ball is played so that players can run on to the ball rather than have to twist and turn to get the ball moving forward again. I've been impressed with them three and Martins and Enrique so far. Less impressed with Faye, Taylor and Viduka.
  3. Spurs were static for our goal, in particular Robinson. Because of this my initial reaction was that it had been dissallowed.
  4. Was a brilliant finish. Passed it from 22yards, between three bodies along the ground into a part of the goal Robinson was never going to reach.

  6. Even though that is what's being said, it's a bit odd as O'Hara normally plays in midfield.
  7. Sensible not to play Zog against Spurs based on both form and the fact that some believe that he has had his head turned by Ramos/Comolli.
  8. Basically counteracting our 433 with their 433 then.

NUFC: Harper; Enrique, Faye, Taylor, Beye; Barton, Butt, Geremi; Martins, Owen, Viduka. Subs: Forster, Edgar, Duff, Carroll, Smith. 10. Should we win this, the game really turns into a midtable six-pointer, as we'd take the gap down to four points and make us confident that we can exceed our points target for the remainder of the season.
  11. I'd happily settle for 8th-12th with a reasonable home record, and a few memorable matches and goals, and possibly a good cup run after this season.
  12. The midfield are more culpable for our poor defending this year, unlike previous years where we have been let down by individual mistakes. Mistakes costing us the occassional match is a lot better than general team shitness costing us almost every match.
  13. Right, so we have signed an 11-year old Wise/Rooney hybrid and have appointed a very well connected American Scout, just as youth soccer in the US is supposedly taken off. Can't have any complaints there.
  14. If I was considering taking Martins shirt, I'd plan ahead by making endless comparisons with Martins and Asprilla with news stories saying "Martins can be my Tino" and stuff like that, then hand Martins the number 11. Fuck Duff.

    Reyes a Target

Keegan has denied any knowledge about Reyes in his pre-match Newcastle World Interview.
  16. Say it is the summer, and we've secured safety, and Ashley lets Keegan chase a high profile striker. Will Keegan use the number nine shirt as one of his bargaining chips, and take Martins' shirt to give to this player, just like he did to Ferdinand all those years ago? And if he did, how do people reckon Martins will react? In my opinion, Martins will never be the type of player (type, not quality) that suits the shirt, and I would personally offer it. I also think though that Martins wouldn't take it as well as Ferdinand did.
  17. Van der Sar, Kusczack (sp) and Foster. Three keepers, one regular first team place, one regular bench place, and one out in the cold. All three are better than Given and Harper. We should sign one of them.
  18. Probably true when comparing him to most players in that division.
