The Proffessionals, ie Pearson, Beardsley and Keegan too (according to Beardsley) were very impressed with the trio last night, especially the way they played after going down to ten men. So was I. Given this, I believe that we will try and maintain this system, given that this midfield trio seem to have brought about our best attacking football for a while, but a DM will be used to help out. The worry is that Keegan will think that one (or two) of Butt, Smith, Barton or Emre are good enough for this role when they aren't. Faye might be, but he isn't here right now. All in all though, I think there may be a real temptation to pretty much stick with what we've got, but to give our wingers more attacking emphasis than Allardyce would have allowed if we were playing Gateshead.

I'd prefer to play all three and stick a very good DM behind them, or alternatively drop a striker and play two average DM behind them.
  3. By the way, I said this earlier, but Beardsley (a club employee dont forget) said that there were unlikely to be any major deals done this window.
  4. Must be Redknapp's unique selling point. "I kna we're shite lyke, but in a year you'll get to play for a pwoper club." We should go for Muntari.
  5. http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A31226005 Brilliant
  6. That looks like a balanced team with a touch of flair, I'll have that one please!! I like the idea of trying Rozehnal in the holding role, but Owen as a lone striker has never worked and will never work. If Viduka is too unfit and slow to play on Saturday, then throw Carroll in to partner Owen. I expect to see football played on the ground, but you don't have a player over 5'11 in front of Rozehnal. Against a physical team like Bolton, it won't work. The four men behind Owen are ample support. Viduka and Owen upfront again with Milner dropped with Duff on the right roz n lua lua in cm ?no chance, just swap emre for roz Banned
  7. We wouldn't have a RW then LuaLua. That would create a terrifying front six of: LuaLua Milner N'Zogbia Duff Owen Viduka though Would put incredible pressure on the back 4. Both back fours tbh. But Milner and Zog do have good work rates and battling attributes when called upon.

Good bunch of Keegan/Training kit/club crest pictures here.

  12. LMAO he is f****** cringe worthy, is anyone watching SSN? Is it the dude that yesterday tried using Keegan as an excuse to ask Georgie Thompson out, then looked genuinely gutted when she said no? Its John McCririck man with Newcastle hat, scarf and shirt to boot! Think you might mean David Craig or the guy he interviewed about putting a big bet on it. That was the best interview so far! Aye that was the interview. Was going well until Craig tried popping the question.

  15. 10 yellows is two matches, i'm sure. Ah, he actually played against Manyoo didn't he. Just didn't notice.
  16. Prefer him to the Geoffrey from Rainbow wannabe.
  17. Alan Oliver is sat there in a Kevin Keegan mask with some other guy, "Welcome back to the north east Kevin"...I turned it off then...too painful. Oliver then tries to do an impression of Keegan, but transforms into incomprehensible giggling before announcing that he's 'gonna sort that Alan Oliver out' before ripping off his mask with a cringeworthy aren't I clever look, before declaring that you can get your KK mask in Saturday's Chronicle. Meanwhile Lee Ryder looks on very bemused. You could have taken that scene out of The Office to be honest.
  18. So based on one game Zoggy's now the answer to our center midfield problems? No thanks. The boy's 20/21, he shouldn't have to take control of our whole attacking game, stick him out on the left where he doesn't have as many defensive duties and we should get a new attacking AM so we have more options in attack. What and drop Duff? Three roaming very attacking midfielders is the way forward if we get the right DM. Given that the three we've got work very hard defensively as well, this system could and should work without making us predictable or rigid.
  19. Peter Beardsley has just said that he doesn't expect any major deals to occur this month. He also said that Keegan was very impressed with our midfield.
  20. Really people, watch this, the start is the most cringeworthy thing I have ever seen.
  21. Oh my god, Alan Oliver has just reduced me to tears. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/videos-pictures/2008/01/17/talking-heeds-the-return-of-kevin-keegan-72703-20362265/
  22. I would just go for four players. An immense powerhouse striker An immense defensive midfielder An immense pacey right sided attacking midfielder a ball playing centre half. Then, I would play: Given Beye Faye NewCB Enrique NewDM NewAMR N'Zogbia Duff Owen NewCF With Martins, Taylor and Milner playing crucial squad roles.
  23. Ironic that you have Martins in your avatar tbh Being a regular on Toontastic, you may not be familiar with the 'Big bad Michael Owen keeping little innocent saviour Oba out of the team despite the fact that Owen murders babies, while Martins scores seventeen hattricks every game' phenomenom we have on Newcastle-Online whenever Martins isn't picked.
