Well if its too late to take points of them this season then give the bastards a -20 point start next season. See what players they attract then.
-
Anyone backing Sunderland or Boro to go down then? Obviously we will have to wait until signings are made before we can judge anyone like. While i can see Keane maybe being able to sign some of Manures players like O'Shea, Fletcher and Richardson who are not great players but who should be able to see them through and would play for Keane, i can't see many players who would be attracted to going to the smoggies. Woody obviously went there but he is a Boro lad and he has had a brilliant season in terms of performances and fitness for them so you can't blame him. If they lose Viduka though i can't see them being able to replace him. Theres nothing attractive Boro have to offer a player really. Only thing they've got going for them is a great chairman.

I think they'll make a decent start then when the christmas period kicks in they'll hit reality. I think they will finish above Boro though. I'm not convinced that Southgate has what it takes to be a Premiership manager. As much as i hate the cunt Keane has something about him what makes me think he could well make a top manager. Southgate doesn't seem to have much about him imo anyway.

this may be totally off point or raised 100 times before but if we get some obsure signings and turn into a totally continental side with little to no english players in there would you be disappointment? I dont really mind as the league has been going this way for some time but i do feel a little proud that we do manage to field some english or uk players week in week out. Wouldn't be disappointed if they improve the team. We've got some good british players at the club who will be here next season. I think Given, Taylor, Milner, Parker, Butt, Duff and Owen may well stay here. A couple of them haven't performed this season but i think Allardyce can get them playing again. At the end of the day its not the player in the shirt who is the important thing, its the badge. I'd actually we rather signed a few obscure cheap players who improve the team, than pay £8m for an overpriced british player who is no better or not as good in some cases.

Just heard him on the radio say he feels we need 4 or 5 quality players brought in, plus replacements for any players who leave.

Allardyce confirmed as Newcastle manager - 3 year deal.

For the first time in a number of years the majority of our fans are 100% behind our manager i think. Even some people who wanted someone else rather than him have been won over by the very encouraging stuff he's come out with today. Fat Fred wants to be very careful how he handles Oliver now. Allardyce won't take any shit and won't take being undermined. -

Picture of god in the new toon top on the official website as well but can't link it on here. -
hehe yeah bit silly....but i guess not.... So funny because he is right, but it's just one of the things you can't really say. Why? Don't get me wrong, we all agree and he's 100% right, but you don't slag your team mates off to the media. To be fair though it must be pretty bad if you get the likes of Given, Harper and Butt coming out and saying that sort of stuff. They are all good pro's and aren't ones to come out in the media and cause shite.
-
I think Moore, Babayaro, N'Zogbia, Luque and maybe Dyer. 3 of them can f*** off but i really hope he can sort N'Zogbia out and get him playing. EDIT - 4 of them can fuck off if Dyer is one of them as well.

I bet you don't get any of the players coming out in interviews calling him 'Sam' like they called Roeder 'Glen' as if he was one of their team mates. -
Aye well if you go on the bbc website theres the Allardyce press conference and interviews with Taylor and Harper but no one of ones with Allardyce.
-
I can't believe people are appreciating him like. Its like when we signed Owen. Some people are getting blinded by this all of a sudden. I'm absolutely ecstatic that we've got Allardyce, and the timing. Well done for once Fred. You've only got another 56 good things to do now for you to match your amount of good things you've done with bad things.

If he gets us in the top 5 by the end of the 09/10 season then he's been a success for me anyway. There will be people thinking back to when SBR was manager and we were a quality team thinking 5th in the table isn't good enough, but we have to be realistic here. We have a tiny squad. This is a big rebuilding process.
-
Harper and Taylor interviews also up on the BBC website. Harper talks about getting rid of the players who are causing problems and don't want to be here. I wonder how long this has been going on for. None of the players came out and even hinted that any of their team-mates want to leave when he was here (although it was obvious to the fans a couple of players want away). Now all of a sudden we have Butt, Given, Harper and Taylor admitting there is problems in the dressing room.

Its the most optimistic i've ever felt with a managerial appointment at Newcastle. I was too young to remember Keegan being appointed. I thought Dalglish, Gullit and Sir Bobby were good appointments when they came (and Bobby definitely turned out to be a great appointment) but there is a difference here, the main one being that the timing is absolutely spot on. The three managers i mentioned before were all appointed when the season was underway and the previous manager had brought most of the players in they had to work with. Allardyce has got 3 months to restructure the backroom staff setup and the squad and he's got a full pre-season to work with the players. He is also seems to have exactly the right ideas with regards to fitness which has been a major problem to us. We have many problems here at the minute and Allardyce seems to tick all of the boxes when it comes to being able to sort out everything. I don't expect a top 5 finish straight away. A top 8 finish would be fine with me for his first season. The thing with him is i am confident wherever we finish next season, he will build on it for the following season and we will progress.
-
I'll give him some credit for appointing the right man at exactly the right time for the first time in his reign here. It doesn't make up for all the mistakes he has made what has seen countless of millions of the fans money chucked down the drain though. This appointment doesn't all of a sudden make up for the wrong managerial appointments, rash decisions, selling players behind managers backs, and putting the clubs name through the dirt. All i will say is good decision for a change.

"Glen Roeder does not like Tetleys. I'm not making excuses because Glen Roeder doesn't make excuses, but at the end of the day the tea wasn't up to standard and the tea lady should have left. Thats not an excuse so please don't write it as an excuse, it is a reason."

If we became a great team then it would happen so we would have to accept it, but i wouldn't like them. -

Roeder would have cracked under the psychological battle what i think Roy Keane will start next season. Big Sam will just sit on the horrible cunts head. -

Hmm one could have been Bridges but he left in summer 2004 didn't he?

I don't know. I've read some things on here which include "Kieron Dyer", "potential" and "double figures" in the same sentance.
